Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 854: Chapter 544: A Dispute (Part 2)

But it shouldn’t be like this... It’s already early morning back home. Even if the news had traveled back, it shouldn’t have caused such a huge commotion at this time, with Zhou Lan receiving call after call.

At this moment, Zheng Xiaojue suddenly gasped, shouting, ”Sister Xiao Yun!”

Zhou Yun looked at her in confusion, only to see her handing the phone to Zhou Yun.

On the screen was the large group chat of Zhou Yun’s entire team, where a colleague responsible for monitoring online public opinion had posted a screenshot. The screenshot showed the real-time search keywords on Twitter, with Zhou Yun’s English name appearing among them.

At this point, Zhou Lan finally finished another call and said to Zhou Yun, ”Your incident at the hotel last night was reported by CBS and ABC in their midday news segment, and it’s attracted a lot of attention in the United States. Both networks have reached out to me wanting to interview you.”

Upon hearing this, Zhou Yun immediately frowned.

”What? I’m on the news?”

Zhou Lan nodded, ”You’re already somewhat famous in the United States because ’Life’ just recently finished screening. Some people know you, and after being reported by these two networks, more people are paying attention to this incident.”

Zheng Xiaojue said, ”Sister Lan, Sister Xiao Yun has also trended on Twitter’s real-time searches.”

Zhou Lan asked in surprise, ”Really?”

Zheng Xiaojue found the segment online where the news networks broadcast about Zhou Yun’s assault, with the news anchor describing her as a top Chinese actress who was attacked by an intruder at a hotel in Los Angeles last night but managed to escape through clever resistance.

During the news broadcast, they even paired it with a picture of Zhou Yun from the Cannes Film Festival red carpet in May this year, where she looked impressive and beautiful.

This incident has been widely retweeted on Twitter, with a lot of discussions as well.

The fact that a hotel guest was attacked has frightened many, making them feel even more creepy when putting themselves in her shoes.

Zhou Lan said, ”These two networks want to do a live interview with you tonight, what do you think?”

Zhou Yun was quite inclined to refuse.

But Zhou Lan’s eyes showed hope that she would agree.

Zhou Yun could also understand why Zhou Lan hoped she would agree.

It’s actually quite difficult for a Chinese actress to gain fame in the United States.

This time, Zhou Yun was caught off guard by last night’s attack gaining so much attention in America, in Zhou Lan’s view, it’s a potential opportunity, a chance for Americans to get to know Zhou Yun.

Even though whatever happened last night surely made Zhou Yun uncomfortable inside and unwilling to recall—there were still deep marks on Zhou Yun’s neck.

At that moment, Bruce contacted Zhou Lan again.

After finishing a call, Zhou Lan told Zhou Yun, ”Paimon also hopes we can accept an interview from their side. They believe this growing attention on you could be harnessed well. Mention ’Behind the Scenes’ in the interview, and the screening tomorrow, let everyone know about the movie ’Behind the Scenes.’

Zhou Yun was hesitant, ”Sister Lan, Wendoc hasn’t been caught yet, but I’m going for an interview. Is that really okay?”

Zhou Lan sincerely said, ”Xiao Yun, as a friend, I support any decision you make. However, from an agent’s perspective, this is an opportunity worth utilizing. This is a very unfortunate event, but the unfortunate event also brings us a chance to make use of. If I were you, I would take this chance to let people know about the movie ’Behind the Scenes’, let everyone know why you came to Los Angeles and suffered this harm.”

Zhou Yun understood.

She thought about it and agreed to the interview.

After all, the incident had already happened; why not take this chance to gain something if possible?

Paimon coordinated with the TV station’s director about the interview outline and content and sent a copy to Zhou Lan’s side too.

Zheng Xiaojue asked Zhou Yun, ”When you do the video call later, Sister Xiao Yun, do you want to change clothes or put on some makeup?”

Zhou Lan shook her head directly, saying, ”Xiao Yun is appearing as a victim in the video interview, there’s no need, plus Xiao Yun already looks beautiful enough like this.”

Zhou Yun listened to Zhou Lan.

Zhou Lan specifically found a collared shirt for Zhou Yun, where the marks on her neck were faintly visible.
