Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 501: Chapter 499: The Founding of the New Academy

When Gu Xi made his move, Calimduo’s eyes widened.

He never expected Gu Xi to use the Soul Summoning Skill at this moment.

With the support of the Soul Summoning Tower, and Gu Xi using all of his mana this time,

even the doubled mana borrowed from the Magic Vortex in Yalidu City was fully utilized.

The Soul Summoning Skill spread directly across the space and the earth, expanding in all directions, simultaneously affecting the descending Sovereign’s Staff.

When Calimduo grabbed the staff, the diamond at the top unexpectedly turned into a skull.

This indicated that the staff acknowledged Gu Xi’s concept; the most suitable route for the construction of the new academy was the Undead path.

Calimduo almost spat out a mouthful of blood.

He had prepared for so long, only for Gu Xi to jump out and seize the opportunity at this moment.

Initially, he intended to seize the chance to clear out the undead aura in the space, turning everyone into the living, making this space a knight-themed academy.

But unexpectedly, Gu Xi used the Soul Summoning Skill at this time.

Wait a minute, something’s wrong.

Calimduo suddenly sensed something amiss.

The timing of Gu Xi’s use of the Soul Summoning Skill was clearly incorrect.

His timing was precisely when the staff was not yet in Calimduo’s hands.

Moreover, Gu Xi had chosen an extraordinarily clever entry point.

Rather than clearing out the undead aura in the space, borrowing the undead aura to transform the academy into an Undead style was far more time and effort-efficient.

If Calimduo obtained the authority, he could use it to issue the first command, forcibly ordering the space to reject the undead aura, reverting it to a knight style.

But before Calimduo could obtain the authority, everything had already been predetermined; with the academy’s style locked in, no matter how many ideas Calimduo had, he couldn’t change it.

To forcibly overturn the style would require more resources, and possibly even the removal of some original faculty members.

This back-and-forth would deplete resources to the point that Calimduo might suffer a hemorrhage.

Realizing all this after obtaining the staff, Calimduo clenched his teeth.

”Academy Undead style.”

Upon hearing this, Gu Xi, who was using the Soul Summoning Skill, couldn’t help but feel a lightness in his hand.

Nevertheless, Gu Xi did not halt his summoning work, understanding that this moment was key. He continued casting the Soul Summoning Skill on the ground.

Each casting of the Soul Summoning Skill was akin to a slap in Calimduo’s face.

Calimduo finally understood that Gu Xi was taking the opportunity to leave his mark on the academy.

To be driven to this point by an undermined department head, how could he continue to manage the academy in the future?

Witnessing this, Miranda immediately realized it was an excellent opportunity and quickly said, ”As the vice-dean, I will concurrently oversee a new department, the Bat Department, teaching Pathfinding Skill, with the Bat Wings as the treasure. There is a secret chamber belonging to the Bat Department in the sky, where three professors will be assigned, namely...”

On hearing this, Gu Xi decisively raised his head and spoke before the portrait of the Holy Painting or Canaster could respond.

”I, Ghost Breath Gu Xi, taking advantage of the academy’s reconstruction, will establish a new department, the Crow Department, teaching the Soul Summoning Skill, with the Six Paths Reincarnation Base as the treasure. In a certain underground location, there exists a secret chamber belonging to the Crow Department.

A Bloody Treasure Chest inside the chamber is eternally growing, and anyone seeking it will be consumed by it.

Three professors will be assigned to this department, namely...”

While Gu Xi was speaking, the Holy Painting portrait and Canaster hadn’t yet reacted.

But they soon realized that not only did Gu Xi understand the routine of establishing departments, but he also articulated everything in considerable detail.

Every professor and faculty member, where they came from, their abilities, what permissions were necessary, all was explained with clarity.

It could be said that whatever others knew, Gu Xi knew, and what others didn’t know, Gu Xi also knew.

Observing the situation, those present understood that Gu Xi had someone supporting him from behind.

The calculations of Kashimduo and others were no longer effective on Gu Xi.

They simply couldn’t compete with Gu Xi.

At this time, neither the Holy Painting portrait nor Canaster had spoken, so Calimduo and Miranda seized the opportunity.

Thus, Calimduo decisively spoke, ”Now appointing Canaster as the head of a new department, the department will be...”

”The department will be the Giant Bear Department, teaching Fitness Skill, with the Steel-Cutting Stone as the treasure. On the ground, there is a secret chamber belonging to the Giant Bear Department.

Inside, countless longswords are stored, with each person entering the chamber able to obtain a longsword that matches their attributes.

Three professors will be assigned, namely...”

Canaster quickly filled in the words, understanding that if he didn’t keep up, these permissions would drift away from him.

Initially, this was aimed at Gu Xi.

Now, with Calimduo and Miranda lacking options, they sought to snatch some positions from Canaster or the Holy Painting portrait.

Compared to the slower-reacting Canaster, the Holy Painting portrait reacted quicker.

When Calimduo spoke, he decisively said, ”I, Holy Painting Eiras, open a new department, the Weasel Department, teaching Painting Skill, with the Mysterious Painting Frame as the treasure. Between painting and painting hides a dedicated secret chamber.

Entering the chamber allows one to enter the world of oil paintings.

Three professors will be assigned, namely...”

As the various professors and faculty positions were assigned, the four main departments of the new Mysterious Academy took shape.

At this point, Calimduo discovered a significant issue.

Since the previous academy had undergone Undead Transformation, and now the new academy also followed the Undead style, most of the originally neutral faculty members remained.

Their permissions were still in their hands; even in death, they had not relinquished these permissions. Instead, they used them to protect the students’ souls.

Therefore, the new dean couldn’t immediately dismiss them and could only placate them.

However, these neutral faculty members didn’t pay much heed to Calimduo’s words as dean.

Instead, with the reconstruction of the new academy, various applications streamed into Calimduo through permissions.

All the applications shared a single request: build buildings.

The main building and most teaching and dormitory buildings of the original Mysterious Academy had vanished and now needed to be rebuilt entirely.

Without allocating resources, the academy’s construction would spiral out of control.

Calimduo felt his head was about to explode.

He was left with no choice but to continually agree.

But they didn’t realize that many of the architectural styles and placements were not as he had imagined.

It could be said that he was the academy’s dean, but the authority was not in his hands.

Much of the authority was gradually falling into Gu Xi’s hands.

And at this moment, a ding sound came to Gu Xi’s ear.

[Ding! Long-term task: Light of the Mysterious Academy, completed.]
