Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 500: Chapter 498: Reconstruction of the Academy (Early Month Bonus)

The giant skeleton moved out of the Earth-bound Deceitful Dragon’s control circle and charged towards the Steel City Gate immediately.

The first to arrive were naturally its two massive hands. These hands moved swiftly across the ground and in the blink of an eye, they had surged forward a considerable distance.

At this moment, the giant skeleton behind Gu Xi could not stay still either. He threw a Lightning Spear which struck one of the skeletal hands and knocked it back.

Then, the Ghost Dragon that was circling in the sky swooped down, unleashing a Dragon Breath onto the skeletal hand.

With this, Gu Xi managed to capture the giant skeleton’s attention. The giant skeleton, having just freed itself from the control of the Earth-bound Deceitful Dragon, looked up and locked onto Gu Xi.

Gu Xi was annoyed at this moment.

What do you mean by that, are you looking down on me?

Originally, Gu Xi did not want to make a move himself.

Because he needed to conserve his energy for the academy reconstruction that was about to start.

But the presence of the giant skeleton made Gu Xi feel provoked.

Gu Xi watched the giant skeleton preparing to reattach its skull to its body, a thought flashed through his mind.

If the body can be taken apart, then don’t piece it back together.

Gu Xi raised his hand, and the Soul Summoning Tower, which had never been unleashed, descended from the sky, smashing heavily onto the giant skeleton’s skull.

Gu Xi’s Soul Summoning Tower was a new structure that could be deployed on the battlefield after the Death City reached Level 5.

This Soul Summoning Tower was the most standard type, standing 35 meters tall, with a foundation of a small hill piled with skeletons, and an upper part consisting of a transparent red crystal tube.

Inside, bright red light particles flowed, which were the absorbed Soul Fragments.

The Soul Summoning Tower occupied an area of over one thousand square meters.

As it crashed down, not only was the giant skeleton’s skull buried into the ground, but even its body was driven halfway down as well.

With the descent of the Soul Summoning Tower, Gu Xi’s expression became serious.

”Are you done yet? If this goes on, I’ll have to step in.”

Both Calimduo and Miranda felt their dignity had been challenged.

Gu Xi had already completed his task; they were the ones wasting time.

If Gu Xi had to step in again, they would truly be embarrassed.

Of course, they were only embarrassed; their plots would continue, and they would still vie for what they wanted.

If they completed their tasks and seized the items, they would have a reason to claim them; if they had contributed little in this battle and still wanted to snatch things, no one would accept it.

For this reason, Calimduo and Miranda quickly put their full strength into suppressing Naviduo in battle.

Without the help of the giant skeleton, Naviduo’s combat power was immediately halved.

Most importantly, there was much less protection for Naviduo himself.

Under successive attacks, Naviduo’s life finally couldn’t hold up.

Under Calimduo’s sword, Naviduo’s head was directly severed, and then Miranda swiftly advanced, delivering a heavy kick to Naviduo’s head.

With that kick, Naviduo’s skull exploded into fragments.

After completing this strike, Calimduo reached into Naviduo’s corpse and extracted some blue light.

At the same time, some light was released from the painted portrait.

Then, Calimduo and Miranda simultaneously acted, bringing out their sphere of authority.

This portion of light quickly merged in the sky, slowly forming a sphere with missing parts.

This was the sphere of authority of the Mysterious Academy.

Since the previous Mysterious Academy still existed, albeit lost in time and space.

So the current sphere of authority was relatively complete but missing important parts.

Seeing all of this before him, Gu Xi quickly stood tall, knowing that the most critical part had arrived.

Now was the moment when Calimduo and Miranda were using the combined authority to sever the connection with the original Mysterious Academy.

After making this cut, they could use the remaining authority to reconstruct a new Mysterious Academy in such a large space.

Previously, the three academy deans had told Gu Xi the method, which was to act at this moment.

The three deans had already informed Gu Xi that when the academy was reconstructed, the one who obtained the sphere would be the dean, and the rest would be department heads.

The four department heads would describe the state of their departments, including treasures, secret rooms, symbols of the department, and what was taught in the department.

If there were suitable personnel under them, they could report them.

Calimduo and Miranda’s opportunity to interfere with Gu Xi’s authority was here.

In their view, Gu Xi surely did not know all this and would not prepare suitable personnel.

If Gu Xi failed to keep up, they could help Gu Xi complete some of his words.

Then their arranged personnel could strongly join Gu Xi’s department.

In their eyes, Gu Xi knew everything but had not reached Level 5, likely not staying at the academy for long.

At that time, they would surely be able to marginalize Gu Xi, making him a titular but powerless department head.

To ensure he wasn’t manipulated and to protect his interests, Gu Xi needed to prepare now.

Looking around at the situation, Gu Xi directly flipped down from the city gate tower, riding the Evil Coffin to the vicinity of the Soul Summoning Tower.

In a few moves, Gu Xi climbed up the Soul Summoning Tower, stood atop it, and rested his Cold Wind Staff, keeping a close eye on Calimduo’s every move.

At this moment, Calimduo raised the fragmented academy sphere of authority high, loudly shouting, ”The Mysterious Academy has been lost in time and space for too long, so long that it can no longer return.

Now I, Calimduo of the Crocodile Department, am willing to offer myself as a guide, severing the connection with the original academy, and rebuild a new academy.

As the authority is reorganized, I, Calimduo, am willing to forfeit all authority of the Crocodile Academy to become the new academy dean.”

Miranda then stepped forward, ”I am willing to forfeit all authority of the Bat Academy to become the new academy’s vice-dean.”

With the two of them relinquishing their authority, the sphere of authority in the sky became slightly more complete.

A white light, carrying the sphere of authority, flew into the sky.

The next moment, the sky erupted with lightning and thunder, and massive storm clouds formed a tornado, swallowing the white light.

After about seven to eight minutes, Gu Xi felt the ground shaking.

Gu Xi understood that the connection between the original academy and this space had been cut, and now this space was beginning to be reorganized.

Thus, Gu Xi gathered his spirit, looking up towards Calimduo.

At this moment, Calimduo extended his hand, and a silver scepter descended from the sky, floating towards his hand.

As the scepter descended, Calimduo loudly proclaimed, ”I, the new academy dean, Calimduo, hereby speak of the academy’s founding philosophy.”

Meanwhile, Gu Xi also made his move. Taking advantage of the scepter’s descent and the severing of space from the original academy, Gu Xi, standing atop the Soul Summoning Tower, raised his Cold Wind Staff and cast the Soul Summoning Skill on this space!
