Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 540: Chapter 538: Harvest and Equipment Enhancement

As the meat-mountain-shaped evilized corpse eater was killed, the nearby mountain-like pile of candies also came crashing down.

The ground was covered with candies, directly burying the corpse of the evilized corpse eater and almost covering Gu Xi and his group.

But at this moment, Gu Xi didn’t care about that, as the Steel City Gate was still here. Gu Xi called out to the inside, and the professional Ghost Squad flew out to start clearing the battlefield.

Meanwhile, the heavily damaged evil bone locusts began feeding again, digesting evil energy while replenishing their species.

While his subordinates cleaned up the battlefield, Gu Xi also approached the corpse of the evilized corpse eater.

As the huge creature resembling a meat mountain died in battle, the smaller evilized corpse eaters that constituted its form scattered on the ground.

However, after these evilized corpse eaters die, their bodies explode on the spot, spewing gastric juices that melt nearby objects.

Even the food cannot escape unscathed.

When Gu Xi arrived, he happened to see some items within the gastric juices that couldn’t be dissolved.

But at this time, he didn’t need to give any orders; just a glance was enough for someone to handle the matter for him.

Sure enough, as Gu Xi walked over to where the evilized corpse eater died, the Ghost Squad had already voluntarily delivered the items soaked in the gastric juices to him.

Seeing one identical White Impermanence after another holding items and lining up in front of him, Gu Xi suddenly felt like he was King Yan, preparing to be ceremoniously escorted into the Yellow Springs.

Seeing this situation, Gu Xi suddenly had the thought that perhaps the Lord of the Underworld would be just like this.

Soon after, various messages began popping up nonstop in front of Gu Xi’s eyes.

[You obtained 1,317 pieces of food residue.]

[You obtained rotting weapon fragments (white) *73.]

[You obtained fusion metal (green) *39.]

[You obtained evil hair (blue) *12.]

[You obtained evilized flesh (level 6) *19.]

[You obtained evil core (purple) *1.]

[Food Residue (Grey): Undigested food residue containing some special power, can be used as material for alchemy potions.]

[Rotting Weapon Fragments (White): Fragments of weapons corroded by strong acid. They can be issued to soldiers, increasing each soldier’s attack power by 2-3 points upon use.]

[Fusion Metal (Green): Special metal formed by melting and compressing large amounts of indigestible metal, can be used to enhance the weapons and equipment of players or heroes, upgrading the equipment level by 1-2 levels each time.]

[Evil Hair (Blue): The finest hair of the evilized corpse eater, can be used to make magic robes of blue quality or higher, or other textiles.]

[Evilized Flesh (Level 6): Blood and flesh of the evilized corpse eater, can be given to subordinate troops to directly raise ten soldiers to level 6 (after upgrading, soldiers are affected by evil energy and become evilized soldiers).]

[Evil Crystal (Level 7): Crystal formed by the condensed blood and flesh of evilized corpse eater, can be given to subordinate troops to directly raise five soldiers to level 7.]

[Evil Core (Purple): Can transform a weapon of blue quality into a purple weapon or equipment, but the weapon equipment will be heavily impacted by evil power, significantly increasing negative effects.]

[...]

Looking at the loot before him, Gu Xi’s gaze finally settled on the evil core, only thumb-sized and resembling a red raw ore.

This is a tool used directly for upgrading equipment quality, something Gu Xi had never seen before.

It’s uncertain whether this item is effective or not, but one thing is certain: Gu Xi never worries about negative effects, as the Orange Fox Eye Ring could suppress the negative effects of two purple armors, and other purple armors would have their negative effects halved.

Now Gu Xi needs to decide which equipment to upgrade.

In this moment, Gu Xi hesitated, glancing at both his Cold Wind Staff and the Spirit Lamp in his left hand, unsure of what to choose.

However, Gu Xi eventually put the Cold Wind Staff aside. He was well aware of its potential to develop independently and possibly reach purple quality on its own.

Therefore, Gu Xi did not intend to forcibly upgrade it with the evil core.

As for the Spirit Lamp, Gu Xi was indecisive. Both spells embedded in the Spirit Lamp are spirit-oriented, and Gu Xi currently feels they aren’t very useful.

They even seem less useful than the Reversed Witch Demon Shoulder Guard; if Gu Xi had found a suitable new off-hand item, he might have replaced the Spirit Lamp already.

Thus, enhancing the Spirit Lamp was not an optimal choice for Gu Xi.

Gu Xi lowered his raised left hand slowly, planning to see whether there were other equipment that could be upgraded.

As he lowered his hand, he suddenly noticed his Champion Ring.

This ring was the top reward from the Nether Bone Wind Academy.

Although it’s a blue ring, its attributes are rather ordinary, offering just one attribute boost and a special effect.

If it wasn’t for its symbolism, people would likely believe it’s green armor.

Besides the Fox Eye Ring, Gu Xi had yet to find another ring, gradually forgetting about it over time.

Now, it seemed this ring was ideal material for Gu Xi to enhance.

With this thought, Gu Xi reached out and removed the Champion Ring from his left index finger.

Without further ado, he directly placed the evil core onto the Champion Ring.

In the next instant, Gu Xi witnessed the evil core, resembling raw ore, swiftly melting into a waxy red liquid, wrapping around the Champion Ring as if it had life.

The Champion Ring then seemed to lose all luster, swiftly dimming and turning completely black, appearing just as if it had been freshly dug from the earth.

This situation left Gu Xi speechless; it was still somehow wearable.

But the next moment, something even eerier occurred, as large quantities of red hair grew from where Gu Xi placed the Champion Ring, entwining it.

The Champion Ring was enveloped by a mass of hair, in a blink of an eye growing big as a bracelet.

Gu Xi was at a loss, unsure of how to handle this.

He couldn’t possibly use it as a bracelet, could he?

Fortunately, this bizarre situation was merely fleeting; in an instant, the red hair ignited, ultimately leaving behind a twisted, peculiar ring constructed from red threads, vermilion wax, and fused metal after the flames subsided.
