Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 541: Chapter 539: Transformation Complete, Purple Ring

Gu Xi reached out and picked up the ring, examining it closely. The ring that was originally silver had now turned primarily red, with a structure that seemed to be made of hair coated in red wax, wrapped around iron wire.

It didn’t look particularly conspicuous, with a red gem on the ring face polished into the shape of the numeral ’1,’ with the tip specially sharpened to serve as a makeshift weapon.

Inside the inner wall of the ring was inscribed a line of text.

’Nether Bone Wind Academy Class of 3317, I am the eternal number one.’

When the ring was in hand, Gu Xi also obtained all the information about the new ring. The ring before him had become a qualified piece of Purple Armor.

[Demonic Champion (Purple, Ring)]

[Equipment Requirements: First Place Graduate of the Nether Bone Wind Academy Class of 3317]

[Attributes: All attributes +3]

[Special 1: Strong Bone, +300 Life, +300 Mana to the wearer.]

[Special 2: Champion Spirit, +3 Morale, +1 Leadership Skill, and when soldiers reach Level 10, there’s a chance to transform into Champion Soldiers.]

[Special Effect 2: After equipping, ten subordinates will randomly die every day; their levels and identities are uncertain.]

[Special 3: Distorted Rewards, after killing an enemy, there is a chance to distort their body and flesh for various special rewards (including but not limited to potions, arrows, materials, etc.).]

[Special Effect 3: After each battle, half of the Life is deducted as a sacrifice.]

[Jewel Slots: Empty, Empty, Empty, Empty]

[Note: You have offered yourself to the Evil God, and all that you are will be under the gaze of the Evil God.]

Looking at the new ring before him, Gu Xi paused in silence.

He didn’t expect that when this ring was still the Champion Ring, it already had auxiliary effects.

Now that it has been upgraded, the effects are still mainly auxiliary.

Nevertheless, with various enhancements, the effects seem fairly decent.

Gu Xi had heard of this type of unit, Champion Soldiers.

They are somewhat akin to Heroes but not as solitary as Heroes are.

How to put it, they are like Bone Dragons skipping over Ghost Dragons to take the path of Blood Dragons, or Angels skipping over Great Angels to become Blazing Angels.

However, Gu Xi was still uncertain about how high the chance of transformation would be, or how strong the effect would be.

The only certainty is that Champion Teams will be much stronger than normal units.

After carefully considering it, Gu Xi concluded that the enhancement of the ring was quite decent.

At least there was nothing unsatisfactory to Gu Xi, who even took out his long-held Jade Peas.

This inlay material had been in Gu Xi’s possession for a long time, but he had been waiting for jewelry with holes to appear, and had not yet inlaid it.

This time, it gave Gu Xi an opportunity.

Gu Xi took out the Jade Peas and placed it in front of the Demonic Champion Ring.

Without waiting for Gu Xi’s command, a red hair extended from the Demonic Champion and swallowed the Jade Peas.

Then a prompt appeared before Gu Xi.

[Please choose the skill to upgrade.]

Seeing the information pop up in front of him, Gu Xi couldn’t help but sigh.

Originally, to upgrade his skills to Level 4, Gu Xi had thought of many methods. This thing was Gu Xi’s final resort; he even considered using it during preparation if there were any skills not reaching Level 4.

But unexpectedly, Gu Xi had already progressed to a Hidden Profession, and he was now Level 5. This item was of no use anymore.

So Gu Xi calmly said, ”Add it to Undead Knowledge.”

After confirming the skill to upgrade, Gu Xi put the [Demonic Champion] ring back on his left index finger.

At the moment the ring was put on, another message popped up before Gu Xi.

[It has been detected that you are wearing Purple Equipment. Would you like to activate the Fox Eye Ring to suppress and purify traits, suppressing all negative effects?]

Upon seeing this message, a trace of a smile finally appeared in Gu Xi’s eyes.

This was exactly what he wanted.

Without the suppressive effect of the Fox Eye Ring, Gu Xi wouldn’t dare to play like this.

”Suppress!”

Under Gu Xi’s command, the Fox Eye Ring on his right index finger glowed, and an orange light shot out, landing on the [Demonic Champion]. Then the color of the ring changed from red to a light orange.

All negative effects disappeared completely.

Now the [Demonic Champion] ring was as clean as a piece of Blue Armor, without any negative effects.

This situation made Gu Xi quite happy.

However, he was only happy for a moment. As the effect of the Jade Pea unfolded, a large amount of information rushed into his mind.

This was something he had never encountered before.

However, Gu Xi quickly understood that this was a manifestation of his Undead Knowledge reaching Level 10, injecting the necessary knowledge into his mind.

This newly infused Undead Knowledge was no longer just about Skeletons, Zombies, Ghosts, Vampires, up to Ghost Dragons, and such.

There were many circumstances Gu Xi hadn’t known about.

Most importantly, previously it only told Gu Xi which Undead existed, how to counter and handle them.

It hadn’t told Gu Xi how some important Undead were created, how to select materials, and how to perform the transformation if one wanted to train such Undead.

Reaching this stage, Gu Xi finally laid a solid foundation in Undead Transformation Technique.

No longer relying solely on forcefully amassing materials like before.

Such changes also stirred something within Gu Xi.

Since Gu Xi had just reached Level 5, if possible, he could try to transform a powerful Undead into his Contracted Undead.

While Gu Xi was contemplating this, Shaya came out of the Steel City Gate carrying the Well Dragon’s Chant.

”My Lord.”

Shaya’s appearance took Gu Xi by surprise. As an intelligence officer, although Shaya sometimes willingly acted as Gu Xi’s bodyguard, her attention primarily focused on intelligence.

Why did she run out this time?

”What’s the matter? Is there a problem on Di Mi’s side, or did something happen to the Yalidovi Tower?”

”No, my lord, just now inside Yalidu City, a batch of strange new Undead appeared. Luna checked and found they were transformed by your Death Decree.

But this clan is a bit peculiar; among them, there’s a leader with extremely strong power, so we need you to decide how to handle it.”

”New Undead?” Gu Xi quickly realized; it was the Evilized Corpse Eaters that had been killed before.

Affected by Double Death, they all turned into new Undead and joined Yalidu City.

”Bring them out, and I’ll see how to deal with it.”
