Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 521: Chapter 519: The Second Death Incarnation

[You picked up the Death Reincarnation Staff (Gray, Fragment)]

[Death Reincarnation Staff (Gray, Fragment): A staff from an extraordinary power, this staff followed the powerful one from an ordinary white staff, growing with them, and eventually reaching purple level.

Having accompanied this powerful one through life and death, it has witnessed their death and rebirth.

It witnessed the powerful one gaining more formidable strength after rebirth.

Even when imprisoned in an eternally dark place, the staff remained with the powerful one.

This staff contains all the beliefs and treasures of this powerful person.

The one who obtains the staff will first face three choices.]

[Choice 1: Integrate the Death Reincarnation Staff fragment into your own staff, raising the quality of your staff by one level.]

[Choice 2: Place the Death Reincarnation Staff fragment into a library or magic tower, where the staff will transform the power’s memories into books or magic books (Books will record the powerful one’s life story, and magic books will record the spells they learned).]

[Choice 3: Deliver the Death Reincarnation Staff fragment to the Three Divine Skills linkage building, affecting the Death Incarnation or Death Lord skills, or give it to another player to let them learn the Death Incarnation or Death Lord skills.]

Looking at the three choices before him, Gu Xi frowned slightly.

He didn’t expect this to be a relic of legacy.

Turning to glance at the Cold Wind Staff he held in his hand, Gu Xi gave up on the first choice.

Even if he integrated the Death Reincarnation Staff into his Cold Wind Staff, it would only upgrade the Cold Wind Staff to purple quality.

This wasn’t in line with Gu Xi’s thoughts, and as for waiting to upgrade the Cold Wind Staff to purple before adding extra enhancements to try reaching orange, Gu Xi had no interest.

The description indicates that the staff’s upper limit is purple, Gu Xi doesn’t believe this thing can upgrade his staff to orange.

So this direction should be abandoned as well.

As for placing it in a library or magic tower, does he want to follow the Life-Slaying Guide’s path?

There’s no need for this either.

If it were the previous Gu Xi, he might be tempted, but now Gu Xi is already on a completely different path, so what’s the point of needing life stories?

See if it could transform into a Death Knight?

Gu Xi wasn’t that foolish.

So, though it’s presented as three choices, the last option is actually what most attracts Gu Xi.

Take this thing to the Three Divine Skills linkage building.

However, upon seeing the situation, Gu Xi noticed that his Three Divine Skills linkage building seemed to only connect between the Death Incarnation and Death City, known as the Longgu Laboratory.

The linkages between Death Lord and Death City, as well as between Death Lord and Death Incarnation, were not in place.

Regarding this situation, Gu Xi wasn’t sure what was going on. When he initially learned Death Incarnation, a linkage was created directly.

Actually, Gu Xi didn’t understand that the first time it was due to the award for having two divine skills appear simultaneously.

It was like a starter pack given initially and there hadn’t been corresponding rewards since then.

Most importantly, the Three Divine Skills linkage wasn’t quite the three forms Gu Xi imagined; rather, it was four forms.

There was also a linkage that had all three divine skills complete.

Unaware of all these, Gu Xi had already determined to take the fragmented staff to the Longgu Laboratory, where he could further strengthen his Death Incarnation.

After confirming his direction, Gu Xi reached out and picked up the final segment of hand bone.

Gu Xi understood that this might be the last remains left by the Life-Slaying Guide, or it might also be the final, concentrated form of all their energy.

Generally speaking, anything that can survive in decay would have considerable quality.

Whether used as material or a tool, it likely possesses purple quality.

Such a fine thing, Gu Xi naturally wouldn’t pass up.

However, when picking up the hand bone, Gu Xi still felt his imagination was somewhat lacking.

[You obtained the Hand of Death (Purple)]

[Hand of Death (Purple): A treasured linkage item partaking in both Death Incarnation and Death Lord, once activated, it can summon another Death Incarnation, then the Hand of Death will transform into a decorative item of blue quality until the user dies in battle.]

Summon another Death Incarnation?

Gu Xi looked at everything before with disbelief.

Just moments ago he was pondering why there wasn’t a Three Divine Skills linkage, and unexpectedly one appeared directly then and there?

Looking at the situation in front, it appeared the Life-Slaying Guide probably didn’t possess Death City, so his linkage was between Death Incarnation and Death Lord.

After hesitating momentarily while examining the object, Gu Xi eventually picked up the Hand of Death and raised it before him.

”Death Incarnation!”

At Gu Xi’s command, the Death Incarnation charged forth from the black mist.

Soon after, the Hand of Death emitted a glow, and before the black mist receded, yet another arm made entirely of withered bones stretched out from the fog.

This was followed by a skull probing outward from the black mist, and a bone giant standing over three meters tall, possessing four skeletal arms, slowly emerged.

The bone giant held a large scythe with its front hands and a longsword and staff in its rear hands, its movements clearly reminiscent of the previous Life-Slaying Guide.

Outwardly, it even bowed its head to Gu Xi.

Gu Xi was stunned by the sight, but fortunately, he soon realized who this newly emerged bone giant was.

[Name: Death Incarnation (Summoned Creature)]

Race: Death God Form

Level: Level 12 (0/0)

Talent: Rule Creature (upon death, can be resummoned by the player consuming all available mana)

Status: Life (960/960), Magic (450/450)

Attributes: Power 12.4, Agility 9.6, Constitution 9.6, Intelligence 16, Perception 10.4, Charm 10.2

Skills: Death Reaping (Death God Skills, once daily, below Level 12 no immunity), Undead Creatures (Level 1 traits, undead species, giant creatures), Curse Magic (Level 5 traits, can use all curse related spells), No Physical Body (Level 9 trait, resembling Ghost Constitution, with 75% chance of immunity to physical attacks)]

A second Death Incarnation?

Gu Xi’s eyes widened; he hadn’t expected happiness to come so swiftly.

This Death Incarnation, though wasn’t like the bone dragon, which endured multiple fortifications and had a building reinforcing it.

But it quite clearly followed a different path.

If both Death Incarnations simultaneously took action, how mighty Gu Xi’s combat capability would become.

With this thought, Gu Xi’s face broke into an expression of excitement, this was indeed an opportunity.

At that moment, Gu Xi suddenly felt heat from his hand, as the Hand of Death he held transformed quickly, becoming a silver pendant decorative item, while its attributes were revealed.
