Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 512: Chapter 510: Players in Battle

”Stone Golems!”

Upon realizing something was amiss outside, Gu Xi immediately released the Stone Golems.

Simultaneously, the main city gate was swiftly lowered, just in time to block the valley entrance.

Those outside trying to rush in would first be stopped by Gu Xi’s main city gate.

After lowering the city gate, Gu Xi intended to bring out the Soul Summoning Tower.

It was then that the deployed Stone Golems flew back.

”What did you say? Someone is laying siege outside?”

Observing the actions of the Stone Golems, Gu Xi was somewhat surprised.

They hadn’t reached the valley yet, but sounds of battle were already coming from outside.

This was unusual; could there be a city outside that needs to be attacked?

With that thought in mind, Gu Xi quickly led a team out of Soul-Devouring Valley.

As he left, he didn’t retract the main city gate, as he was resolved that if the situation outside was unfavorable, he would immediately retreat and draw the enemy into the Soul-Devouring Valley to fight.

Once out of the valley, Gu Xi immediately saw the situation outside.

About twenty miles from the valley exit, there was a massive White Castle, and large numbers of heavily armored troops were attacking it.

Upon closer inspection, Gu Xi found these heavily armored troops were actually mechanical troops.

On the battlefield, groups of towering Stone Giants stood, their bodies up to two meters tall, the stone-forged muscles seemed to grant them endless power.

Each Stone Giant carried a pillar as thick as an average person’s waist, fearlessly withstanding the rain-like arrows from the castle, resolutely striking the white castle’s gate.

Behind these Stone Giants, a large group of Iron Men waited; their bodies were tall, at least two and a half meters, and completely covered in grey iron plates and rivets, exuding a merciless mechanical aura.

Their faces were expressionless, seemingly filled with only endless cold and determination. They knew the power of the Stone Giants and understood their task.

Once the castle gate was broken open, they’d storm into the white castle like a raging flood; the inner city was their main battleground.

As for the arrows and stones falling from the city walls, they were nothing to these Stone Giants and Iron Men; they were machines of war, fanatics of siege; they existed solely to conquer and destroy, evasion and retreat were not options.

Their opponents were humans influenced by the Evil God.

Their heights ranged from 1.5 to 1.7 meters, clad in leather armor and ring mail, primarily wielding long spears or sword and shield.

Some used bows and arrows, shooting at the Stone Giants below.

But they were influenced by the Evil God, with their skin surfaces growing large amounts of red hair, and some commanders even had horns growing on their heads, looking extremely strange.

These soldiers increased in power significantly after undergoing Evil God transformation, with some lifting huge stones and hurling them downward from the city walls.

Just observing the situation, Gu Xi could discern who were the enemies and who were the reinforcements summoned by other forces from the Studesstrup World.

Seeing such a state, Gu Xi paused for a moment and waved at the Stone Golems, ”Go over there and ask if they need assistance.”

Gu Xi also realized that the siege forces currently had the upper hand; although the White Castle was gigantic, their defenses were stretched too thin, with parts being neglected.

Furthermore, the soldiers from the siege forces had strong resistance to attacks like arrows; those Stone Giants had been battering the gate for ages, yet none had died, whereas the opponent’s gate was almost broken.

This made it clear to Gu Xi that this force didn’t need his help.

Yet, Gu Xi appeared right behind this force, so he had to greet them.

Otherwise, he might be seen with some suspicion of a sneak attack.

Shortly after the Stone Golems flew over, Gu Xi saw some Stone Golems flying up from the enemy ranks.

Compared to Gu Xi’s basic Stone Golems, these displayed noticeably more variety, with some being grey, or black, and others edged with gold.

They surrounded Gu Xi’s Stone Golems, communicated briefly, then a man dressed as a mage flew over on a magic carpet.

This mage was evidently representing the academic faction, wearing clothing with various pockets as if always ready to handle different situations.

On his back was a large backpack filled with magical materials and small gadgets not currently needed.

On the magic carpet itself, there were crystal balls and various spices and mysterious items.

Gu Xi could even feel a stable magical force field forming on the magic carpet.

Before reaching the Soul-Devouring Valley, this mage rose from the magic carpet, took a glance at Gu Xi’s troops, then bowed toward Gu Xi’s position.

”Honorable sir, I am a hero under the command of Mr. Fang Kang, Star of Eternal Brightness; you may call me Hart. Your intentions and situation have been communicated to me by the Stone Golems.

We can manage the battle here; if you need, please proceed along the small path to the east, just avoid encroaching within fifteen kilometers of the battlefield to prevent unnecessary misunderstandings.”

”Alright, I understand. I am Ghost Breath Gu Xi; convey to your master that we could have tea together next time when there’s an opportunity.”

Gu Xi said calmly.

Hart solemnly lowered his head upon hearing Gu Xi’s words.

Despite Gu Xi’s lower level, his status was equivalent to Hart’s superior player.

Hart also noted that Gu Xi carried his own title, indicating that he was quite renowned in his world.

Someone like this should not be offended if possible.

Sending Hart was indeed the right choice by Fang Kang.

He had a sharp mind and high emotional intelligence.

Upon hearing Gu Xi’s words, he immediately said, ”Understood, Honorable Gu Xi, this way please. I will arrange some Stone Golems to guide you. Also, Honorable Gu Xi, you have a batch of Stone Golems.

You might not be familiar with the Stone Golem language yet; here is a Stone Golem language book.

It allows simple communication with the Stone Golems, just flip through it twice and you’ll be able to understand.”

As Hart spoke, he handed a small booklet to Gu Xi.
