Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 509: Chapter 507: Shadow Crown

”Gu Xi, please follow me this way.”

Seeing that Gu Xi had handled everything, Lynch beckoned to Gu Xi.

Gu Xi looked back at the troops behind him and hesitated a bit.

”It’s fine, let them stay here. Although our Shadow Crown’s territory isn’t large, it can still accommodate three to five thousand troops. However, it’s best if you stow away your city gate.

That thing is still a bit too big.”

Lynch immediately knew what Gu Xi was hesitating about.

Upon hearing this, Gu Xi waved his hand, put away the main city gate, and followed Lynch.

As for the troops left behind by Gu Xi, with Arroyo and the others managing them, there won’t be any issues.

Moreover, as soon as Gu Xi followed Lynch away, other Black Robed Mages came and guided them to the respective places for rest, so they didn’t have to stay in the original spot.

After walking a hundred meters in the darkness with Lynch, Gu Xi already understood what kind of organization the Shadow Crown was.

This Shadow Crown and the Stu Royal Family were two opposite organizations.

The Stu Royal Family is the legitimate royal family of the Studesstrup World, and also the undisputed overlord of this area.

They have dedicated Royal Mages, Royal Priests, and the Royal Knight Order, possessing all three formidable forces: magic, priesthood, and knights.

Simultaneously, they hold the largest territory in the area, named Destrup City.

As their rival, the only thing the Shadow Crown holds is the legitimate standard of the Studesstrup World, the Thorn Crown.

Besides the Stu Royal Family, no one would really use the Thorn Crown as their symbol of power.

But the Shadow Crown did so because they truly hold the supreme treasure of this world, the Thorn Golden Crown.

Due to this matter, the conflict between the two factions is quite significant.

The Stu Royal Family has always treated the Shadow Crown as rebels.

Therefore, members of the Shadow Crown always hide behind masks, and no one knows who they are beneath the masks.

As for the shadow part, it’s because their main path involves shadow, darkness, and death.

In their ranks, Shadow Assassins, Dark Mages, and Undead Mages are the most common professions.

They even have some different knowledge that attracts foreign Undead Mages to come and learn.

If not for the coordinates given by Eldest Princess Anna, Gu Xi might not have had the opportunity to enter this world.

However, it would have been as the Dean of the Mysterious Academy, coming to study or purchase books about the Undead Mage profession.

The current location where Gu Xi stands is the usual gathering place of the Shadow Crown, a place known as the Shadow Fortress.

Don’t be fooled by the black giant stone architecture you see, making you think it’s a large castle located in some valley; actually, everyone knows the so-called Shadow Fortress is a giant worm moving underground.

It usually moves underground and only emerges to the surface in locations like the Destrup City sewers, the furthest Dark Forest from Destrup, and the Soul-Devouring Valley, to allow Black Robed Mages to enter and exit.

And due to this reason, even though the Stu Royal Family has been oppressing members of the Shadow Crown, they have no way to eradicate them.

The Shadow Crown also clearly understands its role, so when under pressure from the Stu Royal Family, they don’t retaliate recklessly.

When facing major issues in the Studesstrup World, they too will take action.

Just like this time, when the people at the Astrology Platform discovered the evil god’s interference, they immediately notified the Shadow Crown to handle the matter together.

While speaking, Gu Xi and the others arrived at the core area of the Shadow Fortress.

It was a gigantic underground space.

The underground space before them was more than a hundred meters high, with a footprint of about six square kilometers.

The size here is almost equivalent to the combined size of several districts of the main city district of Yaliduwei City before merging with the Land Title.

Most importantly, here is a huge plaza with no buildings or pillars.

On the ceiling, a giant star fragment was emitting a faint green light, casting a greenish hue over the entire plaza.

Gu Xi didn’t much mind this color scheme; after all, for him, it’s better than the prison of the mirror image underground palace in Victoria City back then.

Gu Xi noticed that the plaza floor seemed to be made of glass, through which he could see the green liquid flowing underground.

This seemed slightly related to the undead, but not entirely so.

With just a glance, Gu Xi realized that this giant worm was a massive composite entity controlled by undead, shadows, and dark magic.

Such a moving city has its pros and cons.

Gu Xi himself owns a Death City that can be released at any time, so he had no intention of acquiring a moving city.

”You are the first guest to discover the secret of this place upon arriving at the core plaza; it seems your talent is truly impressive.”

Lynch was astonished by Gu Xi’s reaction.

However, there was a hint of delight on his face.

The stronger Gu Xi’s power and performance, the better it is for them.

After all, they now need to prevent the arrival of the Evil God Hall, and Gu Xi’s strength represents that opportunity.

”Mainly because I’ve taken that step earlier than others, but which direction is this worm moving in now, and from where should I depart later?”

”Leave from the Soul-Devouring Valley. There are still three hours to go before reaching the Soul-Devouring Valley, which is just enough time to introduce you to the quartermaster here.”

While speaking, Lynch led Gu Xi to the center of the plaza, where a black-robed man stood.

This man wore a brass thorn crown atop his head and had a mask with a white base and red X markings on his face.

He seemed a bit surprised to see Gu Xi.

Lynch directly said, ”This is our quartermaster, Doromara. You can call him Quartermaster.

If you can’t find him here, look in the nearby tavern; he’s usually in one of those two places.”

Quartermaster Doromara glanced at Gu Xi, then rolled out a small cargo cart full of boxes, all of which could be opened at any time.

At the same time, a list appeared in front of Gu Xi.

”Soldiers’ equipment, green armor, architectural design plans, resources? There seems to be a lot of stuff, but the quality doesn’t seem that great.”

After glancing at the list, Gu Xi couldn’t help but mutter.

”Your reputation isn’t enough; blue armor requires respect, purple armor requires admiration, and special equipment and mounts require reverence. If you haven’t reached it, do more tasks. Oh, and upon completing tasks, there will also be reward task stones that can be used as currency.

If you have them, I have a task stone exchange list here that is guaranteed to be better than this list.”
