Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 524: Chapter 522: Gifts from Senior Players

[You have obtained the Cursed Heart (Blue).]

[Cursed Heart (Blue): A special item that allows you to remotely lock onto an enemy. Syncs with the enemy’s heartbeat. Upon successful synchronization, when a curse is cast on the heart, the enemy also suffers the corresponding curse.]

Looking at the description of the Cursed Heart, Gu Xi immediately understood its use.

This was likely a substitute method used by that player earlier when unable to strike Zong Heze.

However, this blue quality item is essentially a one-time use, and beneath this heart is the method of making and applying the Cursed Heart.

From the handwriting on it, it appears to be newly written by this player.

Gu Xi was taken aback by these players’ ability to leave written notes despite being unable to move.

They were trapped here by Zong Heze for so many years; could it be they created this out of research?

As he proceeded up the stairs, one player after another expressed their gratitude to Gu Xi, while also offering their gifts.

The gifts they could directly produce, they handed to Gu Xi; those who had none at hand, temporarily compiled part of their experience into diaries or notes to give him.

They were players who had mastered the Three Divine Skills.

In terms of the Three Divine Skills, they were considered as seniors to Gu Xi.

Some of the experience or insights gained from them proved to be somewhat useful to Gu Xi.

For example, during this path, Gu Xi learned how to quickly upgrade the Level of Death City.

And for instance, how the Death Incarnation could improve itself without raising its level, etc.

There were many things within that Gu Xi hadn’t noticed before.

Like the Death Incarnation, Gu Xi initially relied on its combat power to bully others; even if it died in battle, a new Death Incarnation could be released immediately.

But he didn’t understand; the true Death Incarnation has many powerful abilities.

Like various curses, which are entirely mastered at Level 5 of the Death Incarnation.

One could say these are essentially the introductory abilities of the Death Incarnation.

Even though Gu Xi wasn’t an Undead Mage specializing in curses, he could still use the Death Incarnation to cast curse attacks.

After all, since the Mysterious Academy, Gu Xi realized that the level of the Death Incarnation is no longer the ceiling; there are more powerful beings.

Moreover, enhancing the Death Incarnation is not just about developing all their skills; equipping them with gear is also possible.

Especially with Purple Armor, the Death Incarnation never has to consider the negative effects of Purple Armor.

Because they can always be summoned anew after death, no one has ever heard of negative effects not disappearing after death.

Gu Xi gathered all these diaries or notes to take back to Yalidov for slow reading.

Of course, not everyone gave diaries or notes; among these players, two provided fairly good equipment.

[Crystal Skull (Blue): Protects the player’s soul from damage and nurtures the player’s soul. When a player chooses to give up, it can guard the player’s soul to allow one return, possession, or resurrection (return requires a body, possession requires corresponding abilities, resurrection requires a method).]

[Eye of the Soul (Blue, Treasure): Occupies the necklace slot when equipped, rendering all allied soldiers immune to hypnosis. All heroes and players can equip it. When equipped by a player, it allows communication with heroes or other players within a thirty-mile radius using Psychic Power.]

These two pieces of equipment were what these two players managed to keep hidden with great difficulty. With them, they were able to hold on until now.

Now that they have been liberated, they no longer need these items, and since they can’t take them along, they naturally gave them to Gu Xi, who freed them.

Both of these items are quite good. The Crystal Skull was the only method for these players, trapped here, to ensure their souls weren’t eradicated. If Zong Heze hadn’t imprisoned them here forever.

In fact, once players’ souls reached a certain level, they could abandon their bodies and leave, choosing to return or revive.

After Gu Xi slew Zong Heze, they had a chance to leave.

The Crystal Skull was no longer needed, so they left it for Gu Xi.

This way, even if Gu Xi dies in battle, he still has a chance for one resurrection, doesn’t he?

As for the Eye of the Soul, after obtaining it, Gu Xi hung it around his neck.

After wearing the Eye of the Soul, Gu Xi finally understood how these players communicated in this eerie place.

During the time they were trapped in corpses, their communication really relied on this Eye of the Soul connection.

Through this connection, they managed to survive in immobile darkness.

In the face of such matters, Gu Xi couldn’t help but be impressed, and these players’ resilience perhaps meant that once they left, they could quickly catch up and regain the time they lost.

Apart from these items, a few remaining players also left their corpses behind.

In fact, they hadn’t much choice; they couldn’t take their bodies with them.

Besides, as Undead Mages, they understood the use of corpses.

As long as they weren’t like the mural player, unwilling to let their bodies be displayed, they would choose to convert them into more powerful Undead.

These bodies, stored in such a place for so many years and imbued with the undead aura emitted by players daily, had a quality superior to many other corpses.

Using them to create Undead was the most suitable choice.

Now these players regretted not leaving more items for Gu Xi.

These corpses gave them a chance, and when they were leaving, they all said they would leave their bodies for Gu Xi.

Some special players even advised Gu Xi on how best to handle their bodies and what form of Undead transformation would be optimal.

Gu Xi truly admired their reactions.

He carefully recorded every word from these players and had Luna cautiously transport all the corpses away.

Only when Gu Xi reached the end of the stairs did the scene of corpses scattered across the floor begin to disappear.

At the end of the stairs stood a seemingly ordinary wooden door, yet Gu Xi felt perplexed before it.

Zong Heze had been here for so many years; had he never tried to open this wooden door?

No need to mention his power, even someone with no abilities over time could dismantle this door. Why hadn’t Zong Heze entered?

As Gu Xi pondered, a voice emanated from the door.

”Are you here for the Thorny Crown?”
