While Shaya hasn’t returned and the things here haven’t been moved out, Gu Xi was idly circling around the Bone-Devouring Swamp.

He needed to consider whether there were any changes that could be made to the Bone-Devouring Swamp.

This was precisely a unique effect after his Undead Knowledge reached Level 10.

However, Gu Xi discovered that while the Bone-Devouring Swamp can offer modification directions, to actually modify it successfully, Undead Research Level 8, Magic Knowledge Level 4, and War Machinery Level 4 are required to even start.

If these requirements aren’t met, it is still possible to force the modification, but the chances of success are quite low.

There was even a suggestion that if Gu Xi mastered Puppet, Mechanical, Magic Potion, and Alchemy skills, there would be even more advancements.

But the problem is that Gu Xi doesn’t possess those abilities at the moment; the only viable path he can see is through War Machinery.

This made Gu Xi shake his head involuntarily, knowing too much isn’t always a good thing.

If he didn’t know these things, he would definitely deploy the Bone-Devouring Swamp directly in battles, letting it guard one side, serving as a frontline defense.

Now, however, Gu Xi hesitated, wondering whether to deploy this thing directly onto the battlefield or keep it for experimentation?

Just as Gu Xi was puzzled, Shaya also retreated back.

”How is it?”

Gu Xi, sitting on the Evil Coffin drinking alcohol, raised his head.

After the battle ended, he ordered someone to bring over the newly made alcohol from the tavern to replenish his mana expenditure.

Originally, returning to the city for a sleep was the best choice for Gu Xi to replenish mana.

However, under the present circumstances, it was impossible for Gu Xi to sleep soundly. He could only rely on the alcohol delivered from the tavern to recover his physical strength and mana.

Initially, a new chef had come to the tavern, and Gu Xi’s tavern finally had a new style of food.

Yet, this road had too much bizarre food, and Gu Xi, still being human, dared not eat anything on this road.

At most, he would drink a bit of alcohol to replenish mana and that would be the end of it.

”We’ve already seen the enemies ahead. Going further forward, it’s no longer like this candy. The ground is covered with various roast chicken, roast pig, and similar things.

There’s a group of hefty men there, constantly eating and drinking. After eating, they just get up and fight, then eat again after fighting. It feels quite strange.”

Upon hearing this, Gu Xi frowned. How could this scene sound like the Valhalla in Norse mythology?

If it really were there, Gu Xi would have a much easier time passing this level.

The people inside Valhalla could be considered as Undead.

His Death Lord ability could influence them somewhat.

Even if the Death Lord Skills couldn’t recruit them all, they shouldn’t initiate an attack proactively, in theory.

However, even with that thought in mind, Gu Xi still made battle preparations.

”And what about the numbers? Did you see the BOSS?”

”There are fifteen hundred men, including archers, lancers, and some special troops among the enemies. Their equipment is quite distinct, even if they are eating or sleeping after being full, their weapons and equipment remain beside them. Just by looking at the weapons, one can tell what type of soldiers they are.

At the end of the road, there’s a table with three people sitting there, eating continuously. I suspect those three might be the BOSS this time.”

Three of them?

Gu Xi shook his head, promptly dismissing his previous thoughts.

The road ahead probably wasn’t the legendary Valhalla and not even a replica of it.

”There’s no point in guessing here. In the end, we should prepare and set off.”

After having numerous thoughts flash through his mind, Gu Xi eventually stood up.

With his movement, his troops quickly gathered together. Some newly emerging Undead troops supplemented previous losses, surrounding Gu Xi as they prepared to advance forward.

As for the Steel City Gate here, Gu Xi hadn’t withdrawn it.

There were still large quantities of candy and other resources here that hadn’t been collected. To prevent the Ghost Squad from sending these things to the Garrison Gate behind, Gu Xi simply left the Steel City Gate here.

Under Gu Xi’s command, a thousand freshly transformed Bone-devouring Mud followed along, and even that Bone-Devouring Swamp moved near the Bone-devouring Mud after absorbing most of the gastric juice, prepared to depart together.

Regarding this situation, Gu Xi didn’t say much.

The Bone-Devouring Swamp is Level 13 anyhow, on par with the Death Incarnation; it counts among the highest-level entities under Gu Xi.

Therefore, if it was willing to follow, so be it.

This way, in cases where things can be directly handled, Gu Xi wouldn’t need to deploy the Death Incarnation.

After all, Gu Xi’s mana is quite high now, even without counting double, there’s still six to seven thousand mana points.

Every time, utilizing the Death Incarnation with most mana left unused made Gu Xi somewhat pained.

But he couldn’t just maintain at an extremely low point of 100 mana.

If he really did that, and something happened, drinking a magic potion wouldn’t be fast enough for Gu Xi.

So, while resting, Gu Xi could only replenish his mana and consider using less of the Death Incarnation when possible.

Just the right time for the Bone-Devouring Swamp to step in.

Although this fellow’s modification direction hadn’t been decided, it was quite good for use as an ordinary soldier.

Thus, Gu Xi didn’t bother with the Bone-Devouring Swamp’s situation.

He even considered whether to find a hero to lead the Bone-Devouring Swamp and Bone-devouring Mud.

If needing to, should it be called the Bone-Devouring Camp or the Swamp Camp?

While Gu Xi considered this matter, their team rounded a corner and entered another corridor.

Upon entering this corridor, Gu Xi noticed the style had brightly changed.

Amidst the surrounding environment, the walls displayed a distinct bright blue hue, resembling an artist’s palette, contrasting sharply with the red carpet spread out on the ground.

Yet, the carpet now appeared a bit shabby, covered with oil stains.

On both sides of the path, various mouth-watering roast fish, roast chicken, and roast pig were laid out. These delicacies were carefully placed in large white platters, like the main attractions of a feast.

They steamed, emitting enticing aromas, glistening with oil. Between the roast meats, there were piles of fist-sized meat buns like small mountains, which could easily roll onto the carpet if unnoticed.

As Gu Xi’s group walked past these foods, he kept hearing a voice in his heart, wanting to make him stop.

”Eat, eat, squat down and eat, eating one will fully restore your health.”

However, under Gu Xi’s command, even the Evil Bone Locust specializing in devouring everything and the Bone-devouring Mud did not touch these foods; all their attention was focused on the strange creatures amidst the foods.
