Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 517: Chapter 515: Players Trapped in the Castle

No, no, still no!

Gu Xi had circled around the castle without finding what he was looking for.

The clues from Lynch had broken off, and he didn’t know the situation inside the castle.

Gu Xi was searching based on the crown that Lynch and the others wore on their heads.

As a result, starting from the most likely place where the Thorn Golden Crown might be stored, all the way to the top floor, he hadn’t found anything similar to a crown.

He hadn’t even found similar flowers or decorations.

Instead, during his search, Gu Xi found a prison hidden in the lower level of the basement, releasing over a thousand skeletons starved to death inside.

He found the third room located deep in the corridor and carried away the mysterious book stored inside, which was not to be read.

The only place left unexplored was the tower in front.

Holding the Cold Wind Staff, Gu Xi took two steps forward. Just as he was about to push open the large door leading to the tower, he felt a longsword slashing towards him.

Ever since employing the Mind Kill, Gu Xi had thought that everyone in the castle had been affected by it, turning them into neutral undead. Even if they hadn’t been subdued, they wouldn’t actively attack Gu Xi.

Throughout his journey, Gu Xi’s vigilance had dropped to the lowest point, and this slash aimed directly at his neck almost caught him off guard.

Fortunately, when the sword came at him, Gu Xi fell backward, barely dodging the slash.

Then, lowering his head, Gu Xi sent a longsword made of ice flying in the direction the attack had come from.

At the same time, the undead that had been following him closely, helping him carry things, dropped everything and lunged at the direction of the attacking sword.

Taking this opportunity, Gu Xi got up and ran a few steps forward.

Once everything was safe, Gu Xi looked down to check his condition.

The earlier slash had already torn his clothes; if he had dodged any slower, he might not have survived.

This situation made Gu Xi quite angry.

He was on the verge of a promotion, and now there was trouble.

Was this not intending to let him pass smoothly?

Raising the Cold Wind Staff, Gu Xi was about to strike in the direction the sword slash came from.

But just as Gu Xi raised his hand, his movement paused noticeably.

An undead mage with tears of blood streaming down his eyes emerged from the shadows.

His pale face was covered with a layer of frost, with blood tears gliding over it and quickly freezing into ice beads.

His left hand tightly gripped a longsword, its blade inscribed with eerie blue runes.

Meanwhile, his right hand held a long magic staff, with a dark gem embedded at its top, shining with a ghostly blue light.

However, what truly shocked Gu Xi wasn’t this. An undead mage—what’s so surprising? Even if Gu Xi saw at a glance that he was a player trapped in the castle, so what? Hadn’t Gu Xi killed enough players?

What shocked Gu Xi was that he recognized the face of this undead mage.

This undead mage seemed to have appeared in the textbooks of the Nether Bone Wind Academy.

Gu Xi slapped his forehead, as if recalling the title Life-Slaying Guide, a longsword slays life, capable of engaging Death Knights in close combat, a magic staff guides the way, capable of taming Bone Dragons and Death Gods.

At Level 15, he actively restarted the traits of the Witch Demon Life Box, dying in battle and resurrecting.

He was once the most hopeful of breaking the rules and forming the Death Knight Corps as an undead mage.

As a result, three years after his battle death and resurrection, he vanished without a trace.

At the time, many believed he was killed by the Death Knights to ensure the rules remained, ensuring the Death Knights were never enslaved.

Now, seeing the appearance of this undead mage, Gu Xi knew he had been trapped here for countless years.

Seeing Gu Xi looking at him, the Life-Slaying Guide opened his mouth and roared at Gu Xi.

Gu Xi noticed his mouth was still covered in dark red flesh strands.

Although aware of the opponent’s identity, Gu Xi had no intention of friendly exchange.

He had attacked, so whether he was a historical figure or not, he had to die.

Having determined the target, Gu Xi unleashed a 2nd level Wraith Whiskers at the enemy’s feet.

But this Life-Slaying Guide had earned his reputation through battle and was very familiar with various undead tactics.

Although weakened for various reasons, unable even to hold his sword steady, his skills had not diminished in the least.

Instead, due to his reduced strength, he was quite sensitive to such simple methods. With one slash, he severed all the arms and tentacles reaching from underground.

Then he charged toward Gu Xi.

At this point, Gu Xi gave a shake of his hand, and the special mirror in his hand rotated, summoning the Maze Devourer in front of him.

They joined hands, forming a black hole of the maze, blocking the Life-Slaying Guide’s attack.

Following that, Gu Xi raised his hand again, casting the Bone Storm.

However, the Life-Slaying Guide simply raised the staff in his right hand. The gem on the staff lit up, causing all the Bone Storms to slow down.

Counter-Curse?

You can use it like this?

With just a glance, Gu Xi knew he couldn’t match the opponent in undead magic.

Moreover, there was no need to mention close combat. Although the opponent’s swordsmanship had lost its legendary attack power, it was still not something Gu Xi could handle.

To deal with him, alternative methods were necessary.

”Skeleton Mages, out now!”

Watching the skeleton mages charge from behind Gu Xi, the Life-Slaying Guide swung his longsword in a slashing motion.

Clearly, he intended to cut down all the magic the skeleton mages would cast.

And he believed his swordsmanship could achieve such a standard.

But Gu Xi summoned the skeleton mages, not for casting magic.

”Draw his mana, extract it full force!”

Under Gu Xi’s command, all the skeleton mages began to extract mana from the Life-Slaying Guide.

Over the years trapped in this castle, the Life-Slaying Guide had survived on his mana and flesh.

With mana being extracted so suddenly by the skeleton mages, he felt his body weaken.

At this moment, Gu Xi didn’t hesitate and gave his left hand’s special mirror another shake.

The tightly closed-eyed Shaya rushed out from nearby.

Simultaneously, Gu Xi saw Luna floating behind Shaya.

They had received Gu Xi’s orders and arrived in the shortest time.

As soon as she rushed out, Shaya raised her sword and slashed at the Life-Slaying Guide.

At the same time, numerous mirrors appeared beside the Life-Slaying Guide. Layer upon layer of figures looked back at the Life-Slaying Guide, making it impossible for him to determine Shaya’s position.

As soon as they emerged, they recognized the enemy’s strength. Although the enemy was weak, his level and combat experience remained. Without some new tricks, the few of them, including Gu Xi, were no match for the Life-Slaying Guide.
