Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 549: Chapter 547: Promote to Bone Titan

[Subordinate Task: Unfinished Rite of Passage]

[Task Description: A deceased Titan recalled their rite of passage that could never be completed. Now they see hope to complete it!]

[Task Requirements: Slay a Giant Dragon (0/1)]

[Task Reward: Promote to Young Titan, and Level +2.]

[Note 1: A Titan must slay a Giant Dragon alone upon reaching adulthood, just as some dragons must slay a Titan alone upon reaching adulthood.]

[Note 2: As for the tasks of subordinates, you only need to set the direction; the rest is up to him.]

Looking at the information that appeared, Gu Xi pondered seriously, can we cheat on this?

If possible, do the six Bone Dragons circling the Main City Gate count as Giant Dragons?

After thinking for a bit, Gu Xi waved at the giant skeleton.

At this moment, the giant skeleton was so excited that it didn’t even notice Gu Xi’s signal, until Gu Xi got a bit angry and was about to shout, did the giant skeleton finally respond.

Seeing that something was wrong, the giant skeleton quickly ran to Gu Xi, lowered its head, and dared not move a bit.

Seeing the giant skeleton’s behavior, Gu Xi pointed at the Bone Dragon over by the Main City Gate.

”Go complete your rite of passage before that guy is brought down by us and get everything done.”

The giant skeleton glanced at the Bone Dragon circling above the Main City Gate and knew this was an opportunity specially arranged for him by Gu Xi.

So, it nodded its head to Gu Xi and swiftly headed toward the Main City Gate.

After that, Gu Xi paid no more attention to it and resumed the summoning process of the Evil Mutated Muscle Beast.

This time, the Evil Mutated Muscle Beast boss, which was torn into two, also produced a new Battlefield Ghost Boss.

Compared to the previous one, this Battlefield Ghost Boss was evidently stronger and could lead more Battlefield Ghosts.

Upon appearing on the battlefield, it immediately brought away fifty Battlefield Ghosts and started a frenzied killing spree.

Gu Xi’s summoning speed couldn’t keep up with its killing speed.

Moreover, it was clear that the battle style of this Battlefield Ghost Boss was completely different from the other one. His attack methods were more aggressive, directly attacking enemies without any shield-bearers in his team. His team was all about direct attack weapons like blades, swords, crossbows, and long spears.

And its attack methods somewhat resembled Arroyo’s, charging to the enemy’s face, launching the first wave of attacks. If it didn’t kill, it switched to the attack from behind, directly bypassing the front ones.

Such direct and effective attacks have brought the kill rate of the Evil Mutated Muscle Beasts up tremendously.

As a result, the number of Evil Mutated Muscle Beasts dwindled rapidly under their attacks.

Meanwhile, Gu Xi continued summoning while keeping an eye on the one eating at the back of the hall. Although this one hadn’t made a move yet, judging by the speed at which they ate, he already knew the situation here.

But because the other Evil Mutated Muscle Beasts were still alive, he hadn’t moved yet, even though the two companions eating at the table with him were gone; he still didn’t put down his food.

Not until the number of remaining Evil Mutated Muscle Beasts on the battlefield was fewer than ten did he slow down and raised his head.

At this moment, Gu Xi turned to glance at the situation behind him; the giant skeleton was still battling the Bone Dragon.

This couldn’t help but make Gu Xi shake his head. What’s up with the giant skeleton?

Didn’t he fight the Bone Dragon well before, even without this task?

Why can’t he beat the Bone Dragon now that the task needs to be completed?

If you have the gall to issue such a task, why didn’t you do it earlier?

I’ve already delayed everything until now, and you’re stalling like this?

Seeing the situation with the giant skeleton over there, Gu Xi finally issued an order.

”Delay a bit longer, I’ll handle the corpses here before saying anything else.”

Then Gu Xi turned to Shaya, who was observing the battle, and said, ”Shaya, go into the city and see what sort of new guys spawned in Yalidu City after these Evil Mutated Muscle Beasts died. If possible, bring them all out.”

Gu Xi’s intention was clear; the Double Death ability had a positive effect like this.

When these Evil Mutated Muscle Beasts die, there will certainly be corresponding Undead Corps spawning in Yalidu City.

The ordinary Evil Mutated Muscle Beasts are only Level 7 and aren’t the key, the key is the two Bosses who just died here, one at Level 11, the other at Level 12.

If they transform into Undead, they will surely be Level 11 and 12 beings. Bringing them out, coupled with the Ghost Dragon and the promoted giant skeleton, should handle the final Boss four-on-one.

Shaya, having been closely observing the battle alongside Gu Xi, had a clear understanding of the situation at hand.

Upon hearing Gu Xi’s instructions, she knew what Gu Xi was planning and immediately turned and entered Yalidu City through the Main City Gate.

When passing through the Main City Gate, she glanced at the giant skeleton.

”Why are you so useless, can’t even beat a Bone Dragon.”

Hearing these words, the giant skeleton also understood Shaya was helping him. It extended both hands, abandoning its initial thoughts, and transformed the lightning into a Lightning Chain, looping it over the Bone Dragon’s head and pulling it down forcefully.

With this pull, the Bone Dragon, which was attacking in the sky, was dragged to the ground.

The giant skeleton then released its hands, and the Lightning Chain transformed into a lock, binding the Bone Dragon.

The giant skeleton flipped over and mounted the Bone Dragon, punching its head repeatedly.

This Bone Dragon was converted from a Level 7 Red Dragon after its death, and its level was also 7.

The giant skeleton had not brought it down before because it wanted to use the opportunity to practice the Titan’s Arrow, a skill that only members of the Titan Race could master.

However, Shaya’s passing by gave him a reminder that he was taking too long.

Therefore, he had to abandon his initial plan and settle for mastering just the skills of Lightning Arrow, Lightning Chain, and Lightning Lock, transformed from lightning.

Although missing the chance to master the Titan’s Arrow was a pity, there wasn’t much choice.

After all, he was no longer a living Titan. Now, having the opportunity to complete a rite of passage was already quite good for him; how could he seek too much?

Let’s just leave it at that.

The giant skeleton delivered a heavy punch.

Then a voice rang in his ear.

”Even in death, you must die by slaying a Giant Dragon. That is a Titan. You may inherit the Titan’s name and begin preparing for your Titan Armor.”

Upon hearing this voice, a purple lightning bolt streaked across the sky, striking the giant skeleton.

Gu Xi also heard a ding.

[Giant Skeleton completed the Rite of Passage, promoted to Bone Titan!]

[Bone Titan (Level 11, Summoned Creatures): Experience (2766/9000), Attack 23, Defense 19, Life 220, Skills: Lightning Arrow, Lightning Chain, Lightning Lock, Bone Spear.]
