Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 520: Chapter 518: Slaying and the Purple Longsword

The Life-Slaying Guide was startled and rushed out, frozen in place, all part of Gu Xi’s plan.

This was meant to interrupt the transformation happening to the Life-Slaying Guide and make him start running.

As for breaking through the opponent’s defenses, that was actually just an accident.

Now, ice had already formed on the Life-Slaying Guide’s bones, and his movements were no longer under his control.

Gu Xi had also thrown two peas with great precision into the opponent’s eye sockets.

Wood Core Peas and Rotten Peas!

Rotten Peas were obtained together with Ice Shattering Peas; they grow rapidly and rot quickly, creating a Land of Decay.

Wood Core Peas were produced during this period, all sent to Gu Xi.

[Wood Core Peas (Green): When buried in the soil, they can quickly grow into a large number of Pea Vines, eventually transforming into at least ten units of wood.]

Both types of peas have one trait: they can grow massively in a short period.

Then they rot or die within the shortest time.

Gu Xi’s only goal was to use the power of plants to crush the Life-Slaying Guide.

This was the only solution Gu Xi could think of now.

After throwing those two peas, Gu Xi quickly rummaged through his backpack again.

Recently, Gu Xi had harvested quite a few peas, but few suited the current situation.

As for other magic potions and such, Gu Xi had none.

At this moment, Gu Xi regretted quite a bit; his spell was still lacking. If only he had a core magic that could settle everything in one move.

It seemed that if this didn’t work, he would have to use Death Incarnation again.

If it were against others, Gu Xi would have already released his Death Incarnation.

But facing the Life-Slaying Guide in front of him, Gu Xi wasn’t confident; the opponent’s ability to come here likely means he possesses the capability of Death Incarnation.

Gu Xi’s level was obviously much lower than the opponent’s. Though he didn’t know why the opponent hadn’t released his Death Incarnation, Gu Xi believed the opponent surely had a way to counter Death Incarnation.

To ensure his own safety, Gu Xi would definitely not use a significant weapon recklessly.

Now he could only seek suitable materials from the items in hand.

Preparing to strike when the opponent got back up.

This time, it seemed Luna wouldn’t have another chance, and he would have to handle the current situation himself.

At this moment, the Wood Core Peas and Rotten Peas thrown by Gu Xi simultaneously erupted.

Just as Gu Xi calculated, the two peas crazily grew at the same time, immediately shattering the Life-Slaying Guide’s skull.

Then, a large number of pea vines began to grow wildly on the Life-Slaying Guide’s body.

Two massive vines wrapped around the Life-Slaying Guide’s body like giant pythons, continuously squeezing his body.

It had to be admitted, this was the best situation Gu Xi could achieve now.

The power of plants is strongest at a particular moment, even stones can be crushed into pieces under the might of plants.

Even if his body had just recovered, even if more than half of his bones had turned into gems, there was no resisting this kind of attack.

In an instant, the Life-Slaying Guide’s bones shattered completely.

Then, the vines started to frantically absorb the nearby blood and flesh, preventing the Life-Slaying Guide from reviving with his last breath of life.

This crazy growth continued for nearly five minutes, until the vines filled the entire corridor, and then it ceased.

In the next moment, a part of the vines shrunk on the spot, turning into ten huge wooden bars stuck in with the other part of the vines.

While the other part of the vines blossomed, bearing a large number of peas.

These newly produced peas dropped to the ground rapidly, no matter where they landed, they rotted swiftly, and quickly affected everything around them. Even the vines that had just turned into logs and fell to the ground were influenced too, rotting rapidly alongside.

Under the influence of this decaying aura, the hallway turned into a swamp made of mud.

The only things that hadn’t decayed were a longsword inserted in the center of the swamp, the remaining half of the staff, and a length of grayish-white hand bone.

[Zong Heze failed to resurrect; you have slain the player Zong Heze!]

With this message popping up, Gu Xi finally breathed a sigh of relief, but he still peeked out for a look, considering something in his mind.

Was the Life-Slaying Guide named Zong Heze?

The textbooks only recorded matters relating to the Life-Slaying Guide, not mentioning his name.

Gu Xi was somewhat hesitant now, the recent events made him a bit worried after all.

However, Gu Xi was not someone who overthought.

After watching the swamp for a moment, Gu Xi ventured to the center of the swamp with the Cold Wind Staff in hand.

He first reached out to pull up the longsword embedded in the ground.

[You obtained the Fear Fang (Purple).]

[Fear Fang (Purple, Main Hand Weapon)]

[Attack: 35-41]

[Equip bonus: Constitution +8, Perception +8]

[Equipment requirements: Constitution 10, Perception 10]

[Special 1: Guard Line, when encountering an enemy, the runes on the sword will emit a blue glow as a warning. When the blue glow lights up, the sword’s damage will start to increase (gaining 1 point of damage per minute until the enemy disappears or dies).]

[Special Effect 1: After equipping and activating the Guard Line effect for the first time, you will become excessively sensitive, with a strong reaction to dangers (paranoia, persecution delusion, easily frightened, or affected by other effects).]

[Special 2: Trajectory Slash, when the longsword is used for defense, it can easily slice through all enemy attacks, redirecting them to other positions to neutralize the opponent’s attack effects.]

[Special Effect 2: After equipping and activating the Trajectory Slash effect for the first time, you will be unable to use one-hit-kill attacks (this effect has high priority, affecting such ultimate moves as Death Finger).]

[Special 3: Glowing Blue Bite, activate all the runes on the longsword, attack the enemy with full force, and lock the enemy as the primary target, when attacking the enemy, damage increases threefold.]

[Special Effect 3: After equipping and activating the Glowing Blue Bite effect for the first time, when attacked, the damage effect increases threefold.]

[Note: Be careful, it’s quite dangerous outside, you must be cautious again and again.]

Upon seeing the attributes of this longsword, Gu Xi couldn’t help but remark on his good luck.

Previously, the Life-Slaying Guide had been frightened out, and it turned out to be the effect of this sword.

However, the ownership of this sword now posed a problem.

The heroes and Contracted Undead under Gu Xi were manageable; Gu Xi didn’t want to turn his subordinates into cowards who would shrink back at the slightest breeze.

Stowing away the Fear Fang, Gu Xi picked up the remaining half of the staff, and as soon as he grabbed it, his eyes couldn’t help but light up.
