Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 548: Chapter 546: Coming-of-Age Ceremony of the Battlefield Ghost Boss and the Giant Skeleton

Bang bang!

The giant skeleton’s shoulders, grasped by the evil mutated muscle beast, suddenly exploded, and its arms fell to the ground on the spot.

The evil mutated muscle beast was still pondering if it had grabbed too hard when the giant skeleton, appearing to fall apart, dropped to the ground.

However, just as it fell, the power of lightning that had just been injected into its body sprayed out from the giant skeleton’s mouth, hitting straight onto the evil mutated muscle beast.

Although the evil mutated muscle beast also wielded the power of lightning, this attack from the giant skeleton truly surprised it, making it hit by the lightning head-on.

With this strike, the evil mutated muscle beast’s body was momentarily paralyzed.

And it was at this moment that the ghost dragon in the sky got its chance, its dragon breath sprayed directly onto the evil mutated muscle beast.

Although the evil mutated muscle beast leveled up by 1 due to another BOSS’s death, its combat capabilities didn’t double directly.

This dragon breath, carrying ghostly effects, caused significant damage to it immediately.

But the dragon breath didn’t kill the evil mutated muscle beast; it still had the strength to lift its arms, preparing to shoot a bolt of lightning into the sky.

But at that moment, the giant skeleton twisted on the ground, burrowed before the evil mutated muscle beast, and bit hard on its body.

With that bite, the evil mutated muscle beast’s body shivered for a moment, clearly in considerable pain from earlier.

And the ghost dragon seized this opportunity as well and lunged at the evil mutated muscle beast, biting at its head.

The evil mutated muscle beast’s head was caught, and although the giant skeleton didn’t get along with the ghost dragon, it understood that it also played a part in this battle and was determined to go all the way, at least to collect the combat experience.

So it wrapped its body upwards and bit onto the evil mutated muscle beast’s left hand. Then it sucked powerfully, transferring the lightning power from the beast into itself.

This action split the evil mutated muscle beast’s attention; its right hand formed a fist and punched the giant skeleton’s head, while at that moment, the ghost dragon flipped over and bit the beast’s neck, vibrating its body upwards, attempting to take it to the skies.

This kind of attack increased the damage on the evil mutated muscle beast, diverting its attention and preventing it from attacking the giant skeleton nearby.

In this two-against-one scenario, after over a minute, the evil mutated muscle beast was finally torn into two pieces by these two.

[Ghost Dragon (summoned creature) killed the evil monster Boss - Evil Mutated Muscle Beast (12th level), you gain 1 experience point, summoned creatures each receive 667 experience points.]

[Upon the death of the Evil Mutated Muscle Beast, the other two BOSS-level Evil Mutated Muscle Beasts increased their levels by 1.]

Hearing this news, a smile appeared on Gu Xi’s face, and he issued new orders to his troops.

”Kill all the evil mutated muscle beasts and prepare for the final BOSS battle.”

After saying this, Gu Xi prepared to summon the BOSS’s corpse that had been torn into two.

Although a battlefield ghost summoned from such a BOSS-level corpse would only be level 4, its quality would definitely be better.

But just as Gu Xi was about to take action, he noticed the giant skeleton piecing back together its severed arm while absorbing the power of lightning from the dead evil mutated muscle beast.

Gu Xi immediately perceived the giant skeleton’s need.

So he turned his gaze and set his sights on the recently deceased Red Evil Muscle Beast.

[You use the Soul Summoning Skill successfully, obtaining a Battlefield Ghost Boss (level 4), and gain 1 Soul Summoning Skill experience point.]

[Battlefield Ghost Boss (level 4): Experience (0/750), Attack 9, Defense 7, Life 20, Skills: Horizontal Sweep Attack, Ghost Constitution, Spiritual Body Attack, Squad Commander (40 units).]

”What a pity.”

Gu Xi glanced over, lamenting that the BOSS-level corpse only yielded a boss; how great it would have been to get a hero.

Then, Gu Xi could have directly entrusted the over a thousand battlefield ghosts to a hero for management.

Now, it seems they can only be used temporarily.

”First, pick your men, reinforce the troops, and cooperate in the battle.”

Though feeling a tinge of regret, Gu Xi quickly arranged things on his side.

Soon, they’d be facing the last BOSS, and that creature’s level had already risen to level 13. Relying solely on the ghost dragon and giant skeleton likely wouldn’t suffice.

Gu Xi had to convert most of the evil mutated muscle beast corpses into battlefield ghosts before that BOSS was activated.

This way, he would have options to address unforeseen situations.

Regarding the evil mutated muscle beast BOSS that was split into two, Gu Xi took another look at the giant skeleton.

It was still absorbing the last of the current, which benefited the giant skeleton. Given that there was still some time, waiting seemed wise.

With the addition of the Battlefield Ghost Boss, a batch of battlefield ghosts was quickly organized on the battlefield.

Forty battlefield ghosts swiftly followed the boss, and their weapons quickly changed, forming a unit holding swords and shields in front, long spears on the flanks, and bows and arrows at the rear.

They quickly formed into a triangular battle array, charging directly at the evil mutated muscle beasts still fighting.

It was apparent that when gathering men just now, this Battlefield Ghost Boss already understood the situation and knew exactly how to inflict maximum damage on the enemies.

The Battlefield Ghost Boss was ambitious too.

It wanted to seize this opportunity to boost its level and gain an edge in the final BOSS fight.

Otherwise, when the BOSS steps in, at their current level, they won’t be able to join the battle.

Hence, with a chance to kill enemies now, the Battlefield Ghost Boss was quite proactive.

At this moment, the giant skeleton had finished absorbing the current from the evil mutated muscle beast.

It raised its newly attached arms, and a bolt of lightning emerged from its body inside out.

Next, the giant skeleton’s body was swiftly enveloped in a purple current, standing still on the battlefield.

This naturally drew Gu Xi’s attention.

For the giant skeleton, who had been by his side all along, Gu Xi felt quite fond.

He was about to see if he could assist the giant skeleton when a ding sounded in his ear.

[The giant skeleton absorbed enough lightning, enhancing its quality and activating a previously unfinished task from when it was alive. Would you like to help the giant skeleton complete the task?]

Considering the prompt before him, Gu Xi decisively responded.

”Help!”
