Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 422: Chapter 310: The Heart of the Mutant Snow Leopard

When they woke up, it was already four in the afternoon.

Slowly opening his eyes, Xu Xin saw Li Wenxi’s still sleeping face.

The two slept on the sofa like this for over two hours.

Keke was already awake, standing by the sofa watching them, and immediately whimpered when she saw Xu Xin open his eyes.

Xu Xin didn’t disturb Li Wenxi, gently placing her right on the sofa, and then stood up.

It had to be said, Xu Xin felt truly refreshed now, his energy exceptionally abundant.

He even felt that his body was filled with strength.

Wasn’t he hypnotized by Keke?

After waking up, why did he feel that all his physical abilities had improved?

Looking around, he found that not just he and Li Wenxi, but Silver King, Mimi, Afu, and Snow Wolf were all in a deep sleep one by one.

Xu Xin picked up Keke from the ground, looking into her innocent eyes, he said, ”What on earth are you, little one?”

”Whimper?” Keke tilted her head with an innocent face, her large brown and white tail swinging behind her.

Xu Xin sighed and held her in his arms, ”Let’s forget about today, but you can’t keep doing this, otherwise if there’s danger and we’re asleep, we could be doomed.”

Thanks to Keke, his physical fitness indeed increased considerably in these two hours, whether it be spiritual power, strength, speed, etc., he felt a certain degree of improvement.

”Whimper...” Keke buried her little head in Xu Xin’s chest and nuzzled.

Seeing her like this, it seemed she knew what she was doing, deliberately making them fall asleep.

Forget it, anyway, it didn’t harm him but rather gave him a boost in strength.

Swiping open the watch, the regional channel still had no replies; it seemed the beast tide hadn’t completely subsided yet.

He discovered that during these two hours, many people had sent him private messages.

Ji Chaoyang: ”There’s no sign of that person here. I’m going out for a bit of exploration. Don’t let your guard down, these fellows might come back in full force within two days.”

Within two days?

This was Ji Chaoyang’s prophecy range; generally, his prophecies come true within one to two days.

What did he see in his prophecy?

What exactly did he see?

Xu Xin also saw the private message sent to him by Qi Xuefei.

Qi Xuefei: ”Aside from the head, this mutated human’s other body parts are extremely healthy, with no symptoms at all. But in his head, I found some weird little white dots. Without tools, I can’t determine what they are, but they seem like... unhatched insect eggs.”

Insect eggs?!

Xu Xin thought back to his previous guess.

Could it be that the thing controlling this man’s mind is not as he imagined, like spiritual toxins, but insects?

He made a voice call to confirm with Qi Xuefei.

Besides some white granular, egg-like objects in the head, she didn’t find any other special things.

”Can those insect eggs be collected?” asked Xu Xin.

”It’s difficult because they’re too small. I’ll give it a try.”

Ending the call, Xu Xin fell into deep thought.

This matter was really too strange.

It can now be confirmed that there are two types of mutated humans, one is the furry monster, and the other is this kind with blood patterns all over their skin.

Currently, it seems the furry monsters are the main culprits behind this beast tide attack.

While the blood-patterned humans seem like... beings transformed from survivors and controlled by the furry monsters in some way for their actions and life.

Relying on insects?

Poisonous parasites?

Forget it, let’s wait for more information in the future.

He walked to the sofa side, gently patted Li Wenxi’s cheek, ”Time to get up.”

”Hmm...” Li Wenxi didn’t fall back asleep this time, but gradually opened her eyes and looked at Xu Xin beside her.

She grabbed Xu Xin’s hand and nuzzled her face against it, Xu Xin pinched her cheek, and her eyes slowly regained their sparkle.

Then her eyes gradually widened.

”Ah! How long did I sleep?” Li Wenxi suddenly sat up from the sofa and looked at her watch, ”Oh my, I’ve slept for more than two hours! In broad daylight, I actually slept this long!”

”Alright, get going now, Li Yajun was just looking for you.” Xu Xin pointed to his watch.

Li Yajun had sent him several private messages, asking about Li Wenxi, seemingly worried.

”...Yajun really sent me a lot of private messages! Let me see... Hmm?” Li Wenxi frowned.

”What’s wrong?”

”...Mutated humans appeared around my treehouse.” Li Wenxi’s expression turned serious and she stood up, ”I have to go back right away.”

”Mutated humans?” Xu Xin’s expression also tensed.

”Yes, not the furry monsters, but mutated humans like Fei’Er. However, the mutated human didn’t do anything, just took a look and was scared away by Yajun using the heavy crossbow. This happened half an hour ago.” Li Wenxi was a bit puzzled, ”Mutated humans seem to be increasing around, I’m going back now to check.”

”Alright, contact me if anything arises.”

”Okay!”

Seeing Li Wenxi off to the treehouse, watching her enter the purple-black vortex, Xu Xin started surveying the treehouse surroundings.
