Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 416: Chapter 307: Two Different Types of Mutated Humans_2

But... listening to Ji Chaoyang and the others’ narrative, these furry freaks should have their own consciousness.

This diverges slightly from his understanding.

”Are these furry freaks tall?” Xu Xin suddenly asked.

He had seen shadows near his tree house and Li Wenxi’s tree house. But all were seen when leaping into the air, shadows all just flashed by, basically only a human shape could be seen.

”Tall?” Qi Xuefei was a bit puzzled by why Xu Xin asked this, but still thought for a moment and replied, ”Not very tall, about the same as ordinary people?”

Xu Xin nodded, that was his impression too, the shadows he saw weren’t tall.

Ordinary mutation, without giant lineage, yet able to retain one’s own consciousness and control a group of mutated beasts.

Who exactly are these people?

And who is this person collapsed in front of him?

”Wenxi, have you seen it? This kind of furry freak?” Xu Xin asked Li Wenxi.

Li Wenxi was sitting on the sofa, stroking the still sleeping Keke’s little head. Hearing Xu Xin ask, she hugged Keke in her arms, tilted her head and thought for a while, then shook her head: ”Never seen them, at the time I was focused on defense, crazily shooting explosive crossbow bolts, surrounded by fire and smoke, how could I see clearly who’s inside.”

Xu Xin nodded, indeed, in that situation it was too difficult to see clearly.

”You were controlling the crossbow from the tree house, did you see similar furry freaks?” Xu Xin turned to look at Lou Fei’Er who had a somewhat peculiar expression while looking at the mutated person lying on the ground.

”...Huh?” Lou Fei’Er returned to herself, ”What? What kind of similar people?”

Xu Xin repeated the question.

”Ah this...” Lou Fei’Er awkwardly chuckled, ”You know, right now I’m a mutated creature, I get overwhelmed by slaughter. When controlling the crossbow to bombard beast hordes, my mind basically already falls into chaos, being able to keep some awareness to execute your commands was already the limit, I simply had no time to notice any freaks...”

That does make sense.

Today Lou Fei’Er was controlling the panel, some actions were indeed a bit silly, her brain seemed hardly to think. At first, too, she seemed too eager for slaughter, only focused on quickly controlling the panel to bombard mutated creatures, even almost defying his orders.

Mutated creatures have this problem, too easily overwhelmed by slaughter.

Then, Lou Fei’Er suddenly spoke.

”Those furry mutated people you talk about, I have no impression, but this person,” she pointed at the mutated man lying on the ground, ”This person, is definitely similar to me, I can feel it, I can also feel it from Ma Hongwei. That’s also why due to this feeling, I brought Xu Xin to find him.”

Xu Xin nodded, indicating she was right.

At the time, Lou Fei’Er indeed told her she was looking for a special guy, looking for a similar person.

Moreover, at the time she almost mysteriously entered outbreak mode.

Similar person...

Could this man also have mutated through the mutant pills?

”Hmm...” Xu Xin lightly inhaled, suddenly thinking of something.

He took out a small medicine bottle from his backpack, poured a blood-red pill into his palm.

[Mutant Pill (Blue): Enhances the survival capabilities of a survivor in some aspect, allowing the survivor to possess potential mutant power. After consumption, the survivor can control whether to stimulate mutant power...]

The introduction of the mutant pill is entirely centered around the survivor, meaning, this pill likely only takes effect for survivors!

Though I don’t know what other methods cause such mutations, from the introduction of this pill alone, it can be seen that only survivors can produce such mutations via pills!

Could it be...

Xu Xin looked at this originally terrifying man lying on the ground, now making people feel somewhat pitiful.

Could it be, this man is a survivor?!

A mutated survivor?!

Xu Xin took out a pill, the Healing Medicine pill given to him by Qi Xuefei.

”You want to give it to him? This pill only has a significant effect on survivors. I’ve given these pills to injured beasts before; while they can recover injuries, the effect is not obvious, only able to save life while speeding up self-healing.” Qi Xuefei reminded, and then she asked, ”Why, do you think he is currently in an injured state?”

”We have to try anyway.” Xu Xin directly pinched the person’s jaw and forced the pill into his mouth.

The medicinal effect quickly began to manifest on him.

His protruding eyes, under several people’s gaze, began to slowly retract at visible speed, his eyes wide open unable to blink and filled with bloodshot gradually returned to normal, the blood-red pupils also became spirited.

The blood streaks on his face also gradually changed from dark red to bright red.

Condition restored.

”Huh?” Qi Xuefei was somewhat surprised, ”This pill has such a remarkable effect on him? Is he... is a survivor?”

Then she muttered to herself, ”No, not necessarily, the pill might just have a miraculous effect on humans.”

Ji Chaoyang, who had been silent all along suddenly spoke: ”I’ve seen such a person once.”

”Seen one? Where did you see one?” The few present all looked at him.

Xu Xin pointed at Lou Fei’Er: ”She is also such a mutation, have you seen someone similar to her?”

Lou Fei’Er cooperatively rolled up her sleeve, revealing the blood streaks on her arm: ”My mutation also directly appears as blood streaks on my skin.”

”Hmm...” Ji Chaoyang pondered for a moment, then said, ”Yesterday, I explored outside all day, you all know. Yesterday, I chose visual enhancement, the effect of visual enhancement, you should be very familiar with it.”

His latter half of the sentence was directed at Xu Xin.

Chose visual enhancement?

Seems that Ji Chaoyang’s Tree House’s decoration level reached 500, too.

Xu Xin nodded, indicating he was familiar: ”Everything in sight can be seen clearly.”

”Xu Xin, you remember I told you yesterday, that other area survivors would mysteriously die, but their tree houses wouldn’t be dug away, do you?” Ji Chaoyang’s voice became solemn, indicating his seriousness.

”This incident...” Xu Xin felt a bit puzzled, then his heart suddenly jolted, turning to look at this lying on the ground, much better, but still unable to move or speak mutated human.

”Are you saying he is one of those ’dead’ survivors?!”
