Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 402: Chapter 301: Bombing the Mutant Creature Army! _3

”Xu Xin! The explosive projectiles are almost running out!” Lou Fei’Er operated the control panel, a bead of sweat trickling down her forehead, and shouted to Xu Xin.

Xu Xin immediately reloaded both of the crossbows with explosive projectiles. The explosive projectiles in his hand were virtually inexhaustible.

Under the combined assault of the explosive projectiles and the plant heart, hundreds of mutated creatures were slain, but only a small portion of the mutant army was depleted.

Moreover, they seemed to have found a way to evade the explosive projectile damage. Although Lou Fei’Er’s hand speed hadn’t slowed, and the number of explosive projectiles shot increased, the frequency of alerts in Xu Xin’s ears actually decreased.

The plant heart’s defensive line began pushing back slowly.

Ninety meters, eighty meters, seventy meters...

”They’re getting closer! What should we do!” Lou Fei’Er exclaimed anxiously.

”Do what you need to do, I’ll handle the rest.”

As Xu Xin watched the horde of approaching mutants, he decided to go down and confront the mid-level mutants himself. It was also a chance to test his current combat power.

With the purple-grade armor, it was difficult for ordinary mutants to injure him.

”Xu Xin, those mid-level mutants are moving!” Lou Fei’Er spotted the anomaly and reported it to Xu Xin immediately.

”...Continue attacking from above.” Xu Xin quickly reloaded the crossbow and left her with a backpack full of explosive arrows, ”When you’re out of ammo, reload yourself, don’t stop for even a moment!”

”Yes, Master!”

Xu Xin, accompanied by Mimi and Silver King, who had been eager to leap into action, prepared to leave the treehouse.

Keke also wanted to join, but Xu Xin held him back on the windowsill.

They were heading down to fight, not to explore far, bringing Keke would be a small burden, it might even get injured, so he couldn’t bring it along.

”Whimper...” Keke knew it couldn’t be of much help, so it lay on the windowsill, somewhat dejected, blankly watching the bloody battle below.

When Xu Xin descended from the treehouse, the mutated creature army had advanced to around sixty meters, close to his electric net.

At the same time, he spotted several mid-level mutants mixed in with the horde, rapidly charging towards them.

Had it not been for Xu Xin’s temporary suppression, Silver King and Mimi would have dived into the beast horde to slaughter. However, they couldn’t be allowed into the beast crowd; their target was these mid-level mutants.

And now, it was time to test the power of his purple-grade armor!

There were a total of five mid-level mutated beasts, all mingling with the mutant horde at this point.

With the assistance of the map in his mind, Xu Xin could still accurately locate them. After all, their appearance was vastly different from the surrounding low-level mutants.

Among them, three were snow leopards, each about Mimi’s size. Moreover, unlike Mimi, who remained slender as it matured, these snow leopards were all muscular brutes.

One was a snow wolf, much larger than the other snow wolves, akin to the size difference between Silver King and ordinary wolves in the grey wolf pack. It should be the Wolf King of this snow wolf pack.

The last was a snow fox, not too large in size, though larger than a typical snow fox, only comparable to an ordinary snow wolf. However, the brightness of its red dot was many times that of an ordinary snow wolf, marking it as a mid-level mutant.

Five mid-level mutants, hidden among the horde, dodged the vine attacks, as they charged at full speed toward the treehouse direction!
