Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 407: Chapter 303 Besieged Treehouse_2

Around the electric grid, the bodies of mutant creatures piled up like mountains, including those electrocuted and those just blown up, slightly hindering the mutant creatures’ attack.

Her hands moved faster, countless explosive bolts shot out like a swarm, firing, exploding, yet it didn’t stop the beasts’ frenzy below the treehouse, as long as they could still move, these beasts would desperately hit the electric grid.

”Crack!” A high-voltage grid shattered, a big hole torn open, and then the mutant creatures rushed madly towards the hole.

Fortunately, the hole wasn’t too big; during the crowding, countless other mutants were electrocuted, their bodies even blocked the entrance, preventing others from coming in.

”Wenxi! The power is running out! The battery’s power is about to run out! The generator’s output can’t balance the consumption of the external grid!” Li Yajun suddenly yelled anxiously.

”Fill the coal to the top, Xu Xin said filling it completely would be more efficient!” Li Wenxi said while firing explosive bolts, turning her head to Li Yajun.

”I filled it completely, I just did, yet efficiency is still not enough, ah! It’s running out!”

”Damn it, the outside grid is no longer working!” Le Youfang was bombing frantically outside, a panicked expression on his face as well.

The beasts outside continued to attack the grid non-stop, but the grid would no longer electrocute them.

The electric grid surrounding the treehouse began to falter.

”They’re getting in, what do we do!” Li Yajun was somewhat panicked as well.

Li Wenxi’s hands trembled slightly; in such a situation, no one could calm down to think, yet she forced herself to stay cool: ”We have no choice, it’s our last line of defense. Once these mutant creatures break through the grid, they’ll attack the treehouse. I’ve made a lot of treehouse armor; as they destroy one, we’ll replace it with another! Le Youfang, you go replace the armor, and I’ll handle the bombing on all sides!”

Saying that, she tossed a backpack to Le Youfang, filled with treehouse armor she’d prepared in advance.

”Got it!” Le Youfang took the backpack, nervously looking at the situation outside.

”Crack! Crack!” Two sections of the grid were directly pushed down by the beast horde, countless mutants surged within ten meters, flooding beneath the treehouse.

The underside of the treehouse, unreachable by bolts!

Li Wenxi’s eyes bore a faint hint of despair; she lacked combat power, having given Xu Xin all the top-grade materials, thus her gear wasn’t that great, and she had no ability to go down and fight the beast horde.

She gritted her teeth, picked up the crossbow, intending to suspend herself in mid-air using the treehouse’s roots and attack the mutant creatures below with explosive bolts.

But there were too many mutants; her solo effort was nothing but a drop in the bucket.

Moreover, above needed someone to control the treehouse’s chain-crossbow, someone constantly reloading ammo for four chain-crossbows, and someone constantly replacing the treehouse armor.

Manpower was completely insufficient, continuing like this, they’d surely be defeated amid the chaos!

”Wenxi, Wenxi! The teleportation portal, the portal has appeared, someone is coming to help us!” Li Yajun suddenly shouted, her voice filled with excitement and joy, mixed with a slight sob.

Surrounded by an endless horde of beasts, it was truly despairing; if not for Li Wenxi’s calm command, facing such a massive beast attack herself, she might have given up long ago.

”They’ve really come! Is it Xu Xin himself? Xu Xin is here to save us!!” Le Youfang also jumped up, cheering!

Li Wenxi, upon hearing the news, widened her eyes, surprise flashing across them.

At this time, it must be Xu Xin!

Xu Xin came to save her!

She knew he’d come to save her!

But then she thought of something, and her smile gradually faded, her expression changed dramatically: ”No, no! He can’t teleport here!”

The coordinates were surrounded by mutant hordes, all glowing with blood patterns, enhanced mutants; if Xu Xin teleported directly into this beast horde...

She couldn’t imagine the consequences!

How could one person possibly confront a beast horde!

Watching the slowly rotating portal exit, the excitement she should have felt turned to icy cold dread.

She seemed to have already seen Xu Xin appear, only to be swarmed and torn to pieces.

She raised her hand to point at the control panel, wanting to help Xu Xin clear the surrounding mutants with explosive bolts, but her hand stopped above it, unable to press down.

Afraid Xu Xin might suddenly appear from the portal, worried the explosive bolts might injure him, she dared not shoot there.

She wanted to contact Xu Xin, telling him there were too many mutants here, not to come!

But right now, she couldn’t reach Xu Xin at all.

Not knowing what to do, her hands and feet felt icy cold, and she could only stare at the purple-black vortex, murmuring, ”Don’t come, please, you’ll die, don’t come...”

As the portal appeared, the surrounding mutants suddenly stopped, all looking towards the purple-black vortex.

They were far too familiar with this thing.

It was through this thing they came here!

Each stopped attacking the treehouse, instead turning to surround the coordinates.

This scene made Li Wenxi shiver even more; the mutant creatures were all drawn to the portal!

But she snapped back, hands rapidly operating the control panel, frantically bombing the motionless beast horde!

She didn’t dare attack around the coordinates, but had to draw the beast horde’s attention away, couldn’t let these mutants focus entirely on the portal!

”Boom boom boom!”

Thunderous explosions continued in the beast horde, creating chaos again.

The portal’s exit quietly kept rotating.

Li Wenxi felt herself on the edge of a breakdown.

The portal was surrounded by mutants, she absolutely didn’t want Xu Xin to come and risk himself.

But deep down, she wished he’d come, like a hero, driving away and killing all the mutants around!

She didn’t want to die either!

This complex emotion brought tears to her eyes, which had remained dry throughout her fight with the mutants.

The portal suddenly fluctuated, and then, a figure stepped onto the coordinates’ edge, onto a clear space intentionally left by the surrounding mutants.

”Xu Xin, it really is Xu Xin! We’re saved!” Le Youfang cheered, jumping three feet high!

”Xu Xin...” Li Yajun also saw Xu Xin’s figure, and the tension in her heart instantly relaxed, her body softened, nearly falling to the ground, then she laughed.

That man, ranked first in all regions, his mere silhouette provided immense security.

”He really came...”

Seeing that figure, Li Wenxi’s complex emotions exploded instantly, gazing dazedly not far away, at Xu Xin sweeping the side of the coordinates with his long lance, clearing it, and tears silently rolled down her cheeks.
