Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 408: Chapter 304 Li Wenxi’s Kiss

Xu Xin, holding a long halberd, stepped into the teleportation portal.

The world spun, and after a rapid fall, he landed on the ground.

As soon as he could see, he was met with countless pairs of red eyes staring directly at him.

All the mutated creatures were looking at him, from all directions, with dense red pupils, all fixated on him.

Not only their red eyes, but the blood patterns on their bodies were also glowing, mingling with the scattered limbs and the smell of blood and gunpowder, making Xu Xin’s skin crawl.

This was too horrifying!

He had expected this place to be a chaotic battlefield; this scene was nothing like he had imagined!

Initially, he thought he would come over, immediately take out his energy core fragment, and blast these low-level mutated creatures with white light, sending them straight to Western Heaven.

But seeing this scene, he instinctively swung the long halberd at the beasts only two meters away!

Instantly, the screams of the mutated creatures echoed, blood splattered, and within a three-meter radius, it was immediately cleared by his swing.

”Wow, this feels amazing!” Xu Xin felt the massive life force transmitted from the halberd’s shaft to his body, comfortably twisting his neck.

Then he immediately took out his energy core fragment.

The white light instantly illuminated the surroundings, and the temperature climbed to over twenty degrees.

However, the mutated creatures illuminated by the white light did not scatter or die as Xu Xin had imagined.

They, who initially wanted to attack Xu Xin, found the blood patterns on their bodies turned brighter.

They only distanced themselves a bit, looking somewhat afraid of the core in Xu Xin’s hand, but they neither fled nor died.

”...Hmm?” Xu Xin squinted slightly.

The low-level mutated creatures here, were they actually enhanced? Such a situation hadn’t occurred on his side.

Moreover, the enhanced mutated creatures wouldn’t die instantly from the energy core’s illumination.

How powerful could they be?

”Boom!” An explosive bolt burst behind Xu Xin, close enough not to affect him, startling him.

”Xu Xin! Xu Xin! Get up here, it’s dangerous down there!” Li Wenxi shouted from the window. She had handed the control panel to Li Yajun and instructed her to help Xu Xin as much as possible, ”Come here quickly, I’ll pull you up!”

”It’s fine, I’m not afraid.” Xu Xin waved at her and called out, heading towards Li Wenxi’s treehouse.

Seeing the electric grids around the treehouse had been completely destroyed, he had almost figured out what the situation was.

He intended to go under Li Wenxi’s treehouse to help protect it from harm.

Around him, the sound of explosive bolts kept resounding, and Li Yajun was also trying her best to clear the mutated creatures around him.

At this moment, a mutated snow wolf’s blood glow burst forth, and with a howl, it charged directly at him.

Xu Xin was somewhat curious about their current state, so instead of using his halberd, he sidestepped and punched the snow wolf in the belly, sending it flying with his strong force.

”Oow...” The snow wolf let out a wail, flew towards the beast horde, which collectively dodged aside, and it landed with a thud on the ground.

Then, under Xu Xin’s somewhat astonished gaze, it coughed up blood, and the blood patterns on its body instantly faded, its entire wolf body shriveled, turning into a dried corpse.

Though not quite the dried-up husks left after a plant heart consumed them, it was akin to sun-dried jerky.

This was definitely not caused by the energy core fragment; the fragment wouldn’t turn mutated creatures into dried corpses.

”...Could it be that the reinforcement from the blood patterns consumes their life force?” Xu Xin speculated.

In this state, they’ve gained resistance against the energy core fragment and invulnerability, but at the cost of reaching the end of their life when this state ends.

It seemed to be so.

...These low-level mutated creatures, whether on his side or in Li Wenxi’s place, were downright war tools.

How pitiful.

While he thought about it, there was no holding back.

Xu Xin continued to walk forward.

Although these mutated creatures wouldn’t die under the gleaming white light, they dared not approach Xu Xin. With every step he took towards Li Wenxi’s treehouse, these low-level mutated creatures would step back a pace.

Two more mutated creatures couldn’t resist, their blood glow brightened, and they charged at Xu Xin. He only lightly swung his halberd twice, and their heads were immediately severed from their bodies.

This made the other mutated creatures even more fearful of approaching.

Xu Xin no longer waited for them to retreat step by step and directly quickened his pace, swinging his halberd and cutting a path of blood towards Li Wenxi’s treehouse.

The electric grid had been completely toppled and couldn’t regenerate automatically, and the armor on the tree trunk had suffered significant damage.

Fortunately, he arrived just in time.

”Xu Xin!” Li Wenxi immediately swung down from the treehouse, pouncing into Xu Xin’s arms and hugging him tightly, ”You... you... you’re too reckless!”

She had also noticed the mutated creatures around didn’t dare to attack Xu Xin, which gave her the courage to do so.

”Okay, okay,” Xu Xin patted Li Wenxi’s head like he would with Keke; he could feel Li Wenxi’s body trembling slightly, ”Did you forget I have mapping abilities? I was already aware of your situation from the map.”
