Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 410: Chapter 305 Tidying Up the Battlefield Contracting the Snow Wolf

”Since we don’t need to go over there anymore, let’s clean up the battlefield.” Xu Xin pointed at the ground covered with beast corpses.

On his end, he could leave the cleanup to the Plant Heart, which only needed a couple of sweeps to handle the job. But on Li Wenxi’s side, they had to do it themselves.

”Okay! I’ll go call Yajun and Le Youfang down!” Li Wenxi ran towards her treehouse.

Xu Xin looked again at where the mutant human had appeared.

”Are those humans the mutated natives of this world?” Xu Xin pondered as he turned the wristband on his left hand.

The mutant human inside his wristband was still in that strange state.

If only he could gather some information from him.

”This beast tide has only receded, not been completely wiped out, which means there’s a risk of them returning at any time. We must prepare for the worst.”

Li Yajun and Le Youfang followed Li Wenxi down from the treehouse.

”Brother Xu! Um, no, Boss! Boss, you’re so strong!” Le Youfang rushed to Xu Xin, eyes shining, ”Just now, how did you jump so high?!”

Le Youfang currently looked like a little fanboy of Xu Xin.

”Nothing much, just my special ability.” Xu Xin didn’t intend to explain further, just casually said, ”Alright, let’s clean up the battlefield. You wouldn’t want to live amidst a sea of corpses and blood, right?”

Li Wenxi’s battlefield was far messier than his.

On his side, the explosion bolts bombarded areas a hundred meters away, and the area near the treehouse relied entirely on the Plant Heart for attacks.

The Plant Heart mostly went for deadly stabs at weak points, so half of the mutant creature corpses were sucked dry by the Plant Heart, while the other half were still intact but riddled with holes, leaving the battlefield not very chaotic.

But here, relying mainly on the explosive bolts’ firepower for treehouse cover, the scene was much more severe!

All around were severed limbs, with only near the treehouse, near the damaged electric grid, a few fully intact charred corpses could be found, but they didn’t look too good either.

”This is really tragic...”

Although he participated in the battle, taking a closer look at the scene, Xu Xin couldn’t help but exclaim.

Li Wenxi and the others felt a bit uncomfortable too, although they shot so many bolts and were numb to the explosion scenes, looking closely at these broken bodies, even internal organs...

Li Yajun and Le Youfang covered their mouths, and after the joy of survival faded, the discomfort from physiological reactions finally surged into their minds.

Fortunately, both were experienced in hunting countless wild beasts in jungle expeditions, so even though the scene was somewhat heavy-tasting, it wasn’t enough to make them vomit.

Li Wenxi’s originally rosy cheeks also turned a little pale.

They started cleaning up the battlefield.

”Ugh...” Li Wenxi tossed the bodies that could still be decomposed into her backpack, her brows furrowed all the while. ”This is too gory... from now on, unless it’s a special case, let’s use explosion bolts less. These remains... it’s not just the disgust; somehow, not a whole piece of beast skin can be salvaged...”

Indeed, broken beast skins would be directly downgraded. Blue level skins would drop to green level, and the ones from which purple level skins could be cut ended up only as blue level.

Just thinking about it felt like such a loss.

Soon, they had nearly tidied up the battlefield, though the land was charred and mixed with bright red, looking a bit frightening, but there was nothing they could do.

If only it would rain, then everything could be washed away.

However, wanting rain might have to wait until this winter passes; now with this temperature, only snow and hail are possible.

”Hey? Xu Xin! Xu Xin, come over quickly, here’s a snow wolf that’s still alive!” Li Wenxi called Xu Xin over from not far away, ”It looks bigger than the other snow wolves!”

Xu Xin walked over, examining the snow wolf lying on the ground, panting with its tongue out.

Compared to the Silver King, its size was much smaller, even compared to the Silver King he just encountered and the Snow Wolf King he just beheaded, it was significantly smaller.

But among other lower-level mutant snow wolves, it was indeed bigger.

Is this a blood-striped mutant snow wolf with a giant beast bloodline?

This snow wolf didn’t have any obvious external injuries, so it probably wasn’t directly hit by the explosion bolts, but might have been affected, causing it an inner injury, now panting heavily.

Its hind legs kicked, unable to stand up, only letting out ”whimpering” sounds.

”Looks like a big dog...” Li Wenxi squatted down, trying to reach out to touch the snow wolf.

It didn’t resist, or rather, had no strength to resist, letting Li Wenxi stroke its dirty fur.

Li Wenxi looked up at Xu Xin and said, ”What do you think? Do you want this snow wolf? As soon as I saw it, I felt it suited you to make a pact with it. It seems stronger than the other snow wolves but hasn’t reached an intermediate mutant creature’s level, just perfect!”

While tidying the battlefield, she found several mutant creatures close to death after being hit by explosions, but since they were too weak, she ended them directly and tossed them into her backpack.
