Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 412: Communication Restored Amid Beast Tide

”Should communication be restored today?” Xu Xin swiped his watch, and the area channel was still silent.

Then he saw the private message Li Wenxi had just sent him: ”Is it restored?”

”Hmm?” He turned to look at Li Wenxi.

Li Wenxi was also looking at him, her eyes filled with surprise: ”Our communication, it’s actually restored!”

Could it be that after the beast tide surrounding the treehouse retreats, this treehouse’s communication would be restored?

He immediately sent a message in [Explorer].

Xu Xin: ”Has anyone’s communication been restored?”

Indeed, the message was sent out!

And there was a reply in [Explorer] immediately.

Wen Guixin: ”??? Ah? Why can we suddenly talk? I saw the area channel was silent and thought it hadn’t restored...”

With Wen Guixin’s ability, she probably repelled the beast tide faster than he did.

Qi Xuefei: ”Can you see what I’m saying?”

Ji Chaoyang: ”It should be only us who’ve dispersed the beast tide around us that have restored communication, others can’t receive our messages.”

Li Wenxi: ”Hehe, I discovered it! I sent Xu Xin a private message and found out communication works!”

Wen Guixin: ”Looks like I’m the only one who dispersed the beast tide on my side... those guys are so slow! Never mind, I’ll go help them.”

Xu Xin: ”You should be able to control mutant creatures and ride them, taking you to your destination, right?”

Wen Guixin: ”I can, but a beast infected will only live for ten minutes while running at full speed, so I have to switch every ten minutes. And normally, it’s not easy to find a rideable big beast... most of my time is still wasted walking.”

Indeed, under her ability, all creatures became consumables; running long distances wasn’t convenient.

Li Wenxi: ”Now that the beasts have returned, there should be plenty of deer, horses, and cattle on the way, it should be quite convenient.”

Wen Guixin: ”... Not convenient at all, they’re all scared of me. It’s fine to shoot them from afar with a crossbow, but the moment I approach, they run away, and I’m not fast enough to catch them, so I can’t infect them...”

Looks like her ability is quite afraid of being kited.

”Oh yeah, got one!” Wen Guixin cheered in the channel, ”A mutant mad cow charged directly at me, I caught it immediately, finally don’t have to run myself!”

Looks like they don’t need to worry over there; with Wen Guixin helping, dealing with beast herds is a piece of cake.

Ji Chaoyang: ”Xu Xin, have you handled things already? Why don’t we gather together and discuss each of our situations today.”

Xu Xin had the same idea, but he had other things to do beforehand.

”In half an hour, I’ve got other matters to handle first. In half an hour, come to my place, mine is basically undamaged.”

Ji Chaoyang: ”Alright, then we’ll head to your side in half an hour.”

Xu Xin looked at the blood-stained Li Wenxi and laughed: ”You should hurry and take a shower, I’ll go back and tidy up too.”

Li Wenxi looked down at her blood-stained self, embarrassed: ”You’re right, I’ll find you in half an hour then.”

Saying goodbye to Li Wenxi, Xu Xin activated the portal and returned to the side of his treehouse.

He didn’t go back to the treehouse, he immediately headed towards Ma Hongwei’s treehouse.

There should be purple scales of a giant python blown off there!

Ma Hongwei’s treehouse was located southeast of Xu Xin’s treehouse, away from the lake to the west, a position Xu Xin deliberately chose.

Wait... southeast?

Xu Xin thought of something, and his brows started furrowing.

The beast tide that attacked the treehouses like an army came from the northwest, but the whistle that finally made all remaining mutant creatures retreat came from the southeast.

At that time, he found it quite odd. How could the commander and the army be in different directions?

Could it be...

Xu Xin quickened his pace and reached Ma Hongwei’s treehouse.

As long as the main treehouse isn’t destroyed, the parasitic treehouse can regenerate indefinitely, so now Ma Hongwei’s treehouse had bravely emerged from the ruins.

Planting a parasitic treehouse seed only takes ten minutes for a blue-level treehouse to grow, but repairing it is much slower.

However, it wasn’t particularly slow, the treehouse was already starting to spread its branches and leaves. At this rate, before nightfall, this parasitic treehouse would once again become the original intermediate treehouse.

It’s just a pity for the crossbows covering the treehouse and the generator and battery he had set up here.

Xu Xin started searching through the ruins.

He didn’t see any purple glow.

At first, he thought the scales were crushed under the debris, since if his vision was blocked, his identification ability couldn’t see the glow.

But after searching through all the debris, his face turned a bit sour.

Nothing.

Absolutely nothing.

Not only were there no purple scales, aside from the broken wood left from the treehouse, there was nothing else here.

In Xu Xin’s understanding, none of the things that should’ve been here were found.

The damaged generator, battery, furniture, decorations, even the dozens of heavy crossbows installed on Ma Hongwei’s treehouse’s outer walls, not a fragment was left.
