A dark shadow suddenly appeared before her eyes, more ghostly and terrifying than she was, causing Su Yue Immortal to involuntarily widen her eyes, but the sword in her hand could no longer be retracted and could only thrust straight forward.

Ding…

Su Yue Immortal’s thin sword was lightly pinched by the dark shadow that appeared in front of the Heir of Prince Zhenyun, emitting a crisp sound.

Looking up, she saw a young man with a sinister smile, and his gaze instilled fear from the bottom of her heart.

From the shadows, Sikong Jing coldly said, “Another person from Shadow Sect who is far from reaching the Transcendent level.”

In fact, he had known all along that Su Yue Immortal couldn’t possibly succeed in assassinating, having noticed the man beside the Heir of Prince Zhenyun early, but it was only when the sinister man made his move that Sikong Jing confirmed him as a person of the Shadow Sect.

He was, of course, a non-Transcendent martial artist who had joined the Shadow Sect after Sikong Jing had been exiled.

Fortunately, sensing that the man made no move to kill, Sikong Jing thought he would have to risk intervening to save Su Yue Immortal; since there was no intent to kill, Sikong Jing continued to quietly wait in the darkness.

He stared fixatedly at the Gold Splitting Steel Teeth Tiger, and the True Qi inside him unconsciously began to circulate.

Bang!

At that moment, the Shadow Sect’s sinister man threw Su Yue Immortal on the ground, then turned to the Heir of Prince Zhenyun and said, “Brother Ao, is this the female assassin you mentioned to me that is good enough to join the Shadow Sect?”

The Heir of Prince Zhenyun, surnamed Yan and named Ao, belonged to the royal family of Great Shang.

At that time, Yan Ao’s expression was ice-cold, staring intently at Su Yue Immortal who had been subdued by the expensive sword, he exhaled deeply and said, “Indeed, but since she dared to assassinate me, there’s no need to keep her.”

“Expensive sword, kill her!”

The sound had barely faded when the expensive sword, previously terrified half to death by Su Yue Immortal’s assassination attempt, displayed a ferocious expression.

Without hesitating, he thrust his sword toward Su Yue Immortal.

“Stop!”

The Shadow Sect man immediately stopped the expensive sword’s action, then turned to Yan Ao and said, “I like this woman; her character is quite resilient.

Even after long training, her original spirit remains undiminished—quite challenging indeed.”

With that said, the Shadow Sect man continued, “Since Brother Ao is giving her to me, how about I deal with her?”

Hearing this, Yan Ao did not refuse and spoke indifferently, “Oh, since Brother He He likes her, then take her by all means.”

The two of them talked as if discussing a fine piece of merchandise, not treating Su Yue Immortal as a human being at all.

Hearing this, panic flashed in Su Yue Immortal’s eyes.

She had anticipated failure, but at worst, she thought failure meant death, never expecting the noble young master would hand her over to someone else.

In that instant, an unprecedented determination flashed in Su Yue Immortal’s eyes.

She lunged toward the sword in the expensive sword’s hand.

She intended to end her own life on the spot!

Whoosh…

However, in the very next instant, the sinister black shadow again blocked Su Yue Immortal’s path.

Just as Su Yue Immortal was about to commit suicide, a hand grabbed her hair and said, “Want to die?

In the eyes of the Great Shang Shadow Sect, those who should die will die, and those who can’t die will never be able to.”

The one who spoke was still that Shadow Sect man…

He He!

The next moment, Su Yue Immortal collapsed and shouted, “Let me go, let me die, hurry and let me die.”

What she met was He He’s cold laugh and Yan Ao’s condescending voice, “I was a bit impulsive just now.

Indeed, you shouldn’t die after daring to betray and try to assassinate me.”

“Substitute, I want to kill your entire family before your eyes.”

Upon hearing this, Su Yue Immortal’s body shook violently, and she stopped struggling.

Then she knelt down with a thud, banged her head on the ground and said, “Please spare my life, master.

It was the substitute who was momentarily deluded.

Please don’t kill my family.

I’m willing to serve you like an ox or horse for the rest of my life in return.”

Yan Ao couldn’t help but burst into laughter, “Assassinate me and still expect me to spare your life?”

“Do you know why I have tolerated you until now?”

“You think I don’t know that you killed Wen Lie?

However, you indeed exceeded my expectations, being able to pass through Purgatory’s training.

As long as you successfully complete this task, I will recommend you to the Great Shang Shadow Sect.”

“Although Brother He He wants you now, your entire family must also perish.”

Cold words bombarded Su Yue Immortal’s mind like thunderclaps.

Her body felt numb, and her face showed unbearable pain.

At that moment, He He sneered and said, “I like this female assassin more and more.

Brother Ao, I’ll take her somewhere to have a good time first.

Just let me know when it’s time to kill her whole family.”

After laughing loudly, He He dragged Su Yue Immortal by her hair towards the hall’s exit.

Su Yue Immortal screamed continuously.

With ten years of experience in the assassin organization, how could she not understand He He’s intentions?

Not only was her family in danger, but she was also going to be humiliated…

She struggled, but couldn’t free herself from He He’s grip; the gap between their strengths was simply too vast.

She was dragged out the door just like that.

Meanwhile, Sikong Jing’s figure also slowly vanished inside the hall…

“Let me go, let me go…”

Su Yue Immortal kept screaming as she was dragged all the way to the garden outside.

Suddenly, He He burst into a strange laugh, “Keep screaming.

Even if you scream your lungs out, no one will come to save you…

Eh, who are you?”

He hadn’t finished speaking when he suddenly froze, a mysterious figure standing before him.

The figure gave him an extremely terrifying feeling.

Struggling Su Yue Immortal also stopped and looked incredulously at the man standing before her; it was Sikong Jing.

How did he get here?

Then, Sikong Jing looked at He He and asked nonchalantly, “Are you a He?

What is your relation to He Lu?”

He He was stunned, then asked, “Who exactly are you, and how do you know my deceased father?”

Hearing this, Sikong Jing chuckled lightly.

“Because He Lu was executed by my own hand, I remember giving an order to expel anyone associated with He Lu from any organizations under the Shadow Sect, yet you have returned to the Shadow Sect.”

At these words, He He stared wildly, disbelievingly at Sikong Jing.

“How do you know all this?”

His father, He Lu, had been one of the Shadow Sect’s top ten assassins but was executed directly by the Shadow Sect’s leader for humiliating an innocent woman.

He himself, still in the Shadow Sect’s training camp, was also expelled.

But two months ago, he had been reinstated and even entrusted with heavy responsibilities, even having a chance to address Heir Yan Ao as a brother.

He didn’t exactly know why, it seemed there had been a change in the Shadow Sect’s leadership.

But the young man before him claimed to have personally disposed of his father.

Could he be the former leader of the Shadow Sect?

Impossible, he was too young.

“It seems that people I, Sikong Jing, punished are entrusted with responsibilities both by Yan Ruyu and Yuwen Guan.”

Sikong Jing said casually, “It’s truly laughable and ignorant.

I look down on people who are either useless or have low morals.

Your father, He Lu, had low morals, and you are a combination of low morals and uselessness.”

As the words fell, Sikong Jing suddenly disappeared from his spot and approached He He closely.

Before He He could react, Sikong Jing pulled a knife from his waist and gently ran it across his neck.

A blood line appeared on He He’s neck.

With his pupils sharply constricting, He He said blankly, “Shadow Sect, Ultimate Shadow Killing Blade!”

As he spoke, He He fell to the ground, dead!
