Berserk God of War

111: Chapter 111: An Irresistible Force 111: Chapter 111: An Irresistible Force Chou Ye stared with eyes widened in fear, yelling, “You dare…”

Before he finished speaking, he was killed by Sikong Jing’s spear.

Sikong Jing, of course, dared!

At the same time, Ah Hu and Old Zhang also charged out, slashing one after another of Chou Ye’s trusted aides under their swords, immediately causing waves of screams to spread in the darkness, sending chills down the spines of thirty thousand soldiers and throwing them into panic.

“Let’s go!”

Seeing everyone slain, Sikong Jing spoke indifferently, and the three disappeared from their spot.

Soon Sikong Jing’s voice rose again among the thirty thousand soldiers, “Everyone, don’t panic.

The enemy is few in number.

Light up your torches quickly.”

With the sound of Sikong Jing’s voice, everyone’s mood immediately stabilized.

Bang, bang, bang…

As the lights came on, everyone looked at each other, yet they saw not a single enemy.

Suddenly, a scream rang out: “General Chou Ye is dead.”

Following this exclamation, Sikong Jing quickly led his men over, and when he saw Chou Ye’s corpse, his face was incredibly gloomy.

After examining the body, he said solemnly to the people, “Such a ruthless method, all by a single stroke of the blade.”

Ah Hu also roared, “Damn it, it’s the Cloud Forest Bandits from Yuntie Forest.”

“Slaughter them, avenge General Chou Ye’s blood feud.”

Old Zhang’s angry voice resounded, “Hmm, do the Cloud Forest Bandits think that by killing General Chou Ye, they can turn us into a disorganized mess?

Sadly, they’re wrong.

We still have Brother Sikong.”

“Right, we still have Commander Sikong.”

“Let’s go and slaughter the Cloud Forest Bandits, and avenge General Chou Ye.”

Roars resounded…

Everyone immediately focused on Sikong Jing, their combat strength and morale surging.

“Kill, annihilate the Cloud Forest Bandits overnight.”

Sikong Jing looked around and gave the order; thirty thousand soldiers charged out, their momentum soaring to the skies.

The Cloud Forest Bandits were petty thieves hidden in Yuntie Forest, usually engaging in robbery and committing heinous crimes.

But their strength was still weak, merely equivalent to that of the Fierce Beast Bandits, and they were not Xia Country’s covert operatives in Yunzhou.

Yet, this time, they were unlucky enough to be killed cleanly.

Before their deaths, the leader of the Cloud Forest Bandits cursed, “Chou Ye’s death has nothing to do with me; I’m wrongly accused!”

However, he was already dead, and everyone had avenged Chou Ye…

“Although General Chou Ye died a wrongful death, we are soldiers of Yunye City and must not neglect our duties.

We must proceed to Yanyun City as quickly as possible.”

“Everyone rest for six hours.

At dawn, we depart immediately.”

Sikong Jing looked at the exhilarated crowd and issued an order, then he went off alone to a quiet place for cultivation.

Old Zhang and Ah Hu exchanged a glance, Brother Sikong was not only fierce in battle but also had terrifyingly cunning tactics.

In just a blink of an eye, the threat of Chou Ye had dissipated.

Moreover, they used Chou Ye’s death to make the thirty thousand soldiers more united; most importantly, Chou Ye had previously declared reconciliation and had handed over command to Sikong Jing.

In less than a day, Sikong Jing had rightfully taken control of Yunye City’s army.

Old Zhang and Ah Hu reminisced as if it was all a dream.

On one side of the Cloud Forest Bandits’ camp, Sikong Jing stood atop a large tree, gazing in the direction of Yanyun City, his eyes deep as he said, “Sui Yu must not die, he must hold on, believe in your big brother!”

His mood was exceedingly heavy.

If even Sui Yu had died, then he truly would have no face to meet his brothers under the proverbial springs.

But Sikong Jing’s recent return to cultivation was still too brief; to save Sui Yu, he needed to leverage power and command troops, and he had already completed the first step by consolidating Yunye City’s troops under his control.

The next step was to march fiercely toward Yanyun City while amassing even more power along the way.

He aimed to forge an army of one hundred thousand men in a short time.

After meditating in a tree until dawn, Sikong Jing ordered the march toward Yanyun City, striking fear into everyone they encountered, from Xia Country’s covert bandits to common thieves.

Kill, kill, kill…

No one could stop the footsteps of Sikong Jing, no one could stop this army undergoing transformation.

When they were half a day’s distance from Yanyun City, the thirty thousand soldiers under Sikong Jing had already grown to fifty thousand, mostly remnants of another city’s forces that had been defeated by bandits and subsequently absorbed by him.

The spirit of the fifty thousand was already different; they had never imagined that war could be so simple.

The reputation of Yunye City’s soldiers soared throughout this journey.

Yet in Sikong Jing’s heart, fifty thousand was still far from enough—he wanted one hundred thousand!

Suddenly, Ah Hu came to report, “Brother Sikong, there’s an urgent message from Qingyun City.”

“The City Guard General has suddenly defected—he is also from Xia Country.

Now the City Lord has been killed, and the city has been taken!”

Sikong Jing sharply looked up; Qingyun City was the closest to Yanyun City and it housed many of Xia Country’s covert agents as expected.

However, even the City Guard General being a covert agent of Xia Country was somewhat surprising to him.

After a short contemplation, Sikong Jing commanded loudly, “Pass my order, take back Qingyun City.”

Turning his horse around, Sikong Jing led fifty thousand men toward Qingyun City, now all mounted on horses seized from various places.

In Sikong Jing’s command, there were now fifty thousand cavalry.

Suddenly, beneath Qingyun City.

Sikong Jing saw smoke rising from within the city and still heard the sounds of killing.

On the city walls, there stood a commanding middle-aged man who gazed down at the fifty thousand soldiers below, fixing his eyes on the leading Sikong Jing, “Eh, it isn’t Chou Ye, who are you?”

Ah Hu stepped forward to explain, “Brother Sikong, this is Xie Hong, the City Guard General of Qingyun City, acquainted with Chou Ye.”

Sikong Jing nodded; Xie Hong was indeed the chief defector within Qingyun City.

He must have received word from a spy that the soldiers of Yunye City were coming and was waiting on the walls.

His purpose was likely to negotiate with Chou Ye.

But Xie Hong realized that the command of Yunye City’s soldiers had changed, which greatly surprised him.

Thinking this, Sikong Jing stared at Xie Hong and coolly responded, “You don’t need to know who I am.

You only need to know that Chou Ye is already dead, and you are about to die as well.”

“Hm?” Xie Hong faltered, puzzled by his meaning.

Suddenly, Sikong Jing disappeared from his horse, the Beast Skill Flowing Cloud in motion, scaling the city walls as swiftly as a Flowing Cloud Flying Squirrel.

Before Xie Hong could react, Sikong Jing’s voice rang out behind him, “I’m right here.”

When he turned around, Xie Hong’s head was already spinning, soaring high, blood spraying wildly.

Sikong Jing immediately grabbed his head, roaring loudly to everyone inside Qingyun City, “Xie Hong is dead.

Any people from Xia Country who surrender will not be killed; otherwise, none will be spared!”

The battle within the city ceased instantly, shocking everyone on both sides.

Just moments before, General Xie Hong had spoken of assessing the strength of Yunye City’s forces, and in a blink, he was dead?

This…was all too swift!

Suddenly, Sikong Jing tossed Xie Hong’s head high, spearing it mid-air, then charged into the city, blasting away all of Xie Hong’s men guarding the city gate, wrenching it open.

Then, Sikong Jing returned to his horse from inside the city, pointing at the gates and shouting, “Soldiers of Yunye City, heed my command, storm into Qingyun City and exterminate the rebels!”
