109: Chapter 109: The Battle of One Against Ten.

Old Zhang and Ah Hu rode their horses in pursuit of Sikong Jing’s rear.

Their shock was beyond description; in less than four hours, the entire team had undergone a drastic change, as if transformed into elite warriors.

And this was the masterpiece of Brother Sikong.

He possessed the strength to slaughter Iron Horse Village on his own, yet he only captured the village chief, waiting for their arrival to unite the people’s hearts.

Brother Sikong, too strong!

…

Not far from Iron Horse Ridge, Chou Ye glanced at the time and said to Xing E with a smile, “Four hours are almost up.

That criminal should be coming back soon.

I wonder how he will beg me for mercy?”

Xing E burst out laughing: “Of course, he’ll kneel and beg for mercy, offering treasures.

How could a petty criminal like him compete with us?”

Thump thump thump…

Suddenly, the sound of the earth shaking arose, and clouds of dust billowed on the great road as iron horses approached with thunderous hooves.

Instantly, Chou Ye’s laughter stopped, and his pupils contracted violently as he said, “I estimate it’s three thousand iron cavalry.

It must be the people from Iron Horse Village coming to attack.

That damn criminal has angered them.”

Chou Ye couldn’t help cursing and then shouted, “All men listen…

prepare to meet the enemy.”

However, just as everyone was gearing up for battle, the tense Chou Ye and Xing E were suddenly struck dumb.

Xing E said blankly, “General Chou Ye, doesn’t the person in the lead look like that criminal?”

“He does, and how come the two people behind him also look so much like Ah Hu and Old Zhang?” Chou Ye said, blinking his eyes.

As the three thousand warhorses drew even closer, they saw clearly that it was indeed those three men.

Finally, Sikong Jing brought his horse to a halt.

He stared at Chou Ye and said, “General Chou, mission accomplished.

Iron Horse Village has been completely wiped out, not a single survivor.”

Chou Ye was stunned, and Xing E was flabbergasted.

The soldiers of Yunye City behind them rubbed their eyes to make sure they were not mistaken.

They recognized not only the foremost Sikong Jing but also the old, weak, sick, and disabled riding horses behind him.

But how could this be, what kind of joke was this?

How could a mob of hastily assembled fighters take Iron Horse Village in just four hours?

Did the people of Iron Horse Village run out and sever their own heads to present to them?

The entire scene fell silent, and after an unknown amount of time passed, Chou Ye finally stammered, “How did you take it?”

Sikong Jing smiled, “We just struck and took it down.

Iron Horse Village had no power to resist.”

Opening his mouth, I don’t believe you for a second.

Could it be that Iron Horse Village’s main force wasn’t in the village?

It must be so; otherwise, Sikong Jing could not have possibly taken it.

Thinking this, Chou Ye’s face turned unsightly, as the criminal’s luck was simply too good.

He looked at the soldiers behind him with a dark expression, then glanced at Sikong Jing in front of him and slowly began to speak, “That’s indeed something to celebrate.

Congratulations to Brother Sikong, but…”

“There are still many real warriors who lack warhorses.

I now order you to dismount and surrender all the horses.”

There aren’t many among thirty thousand soldiers who possess warhorses.

And how could Chou Ye possibly let Sikong Jing and the others ride on horseback, living the easy life?

As soon as he said this, everyone’s blood ran hot except for Sikong Jing.

“On what basis?”

Those with hot tempers shouted out immediately.

These horses were seized by their own efforts.

Before Chou Ye could speak, Xing E took the lead, yelling, “On the basis that Chou Ye is the General, and you should all obey orders!

Dismount, or else, for defying a military order, you will be executed without mercy!”

The three thousand weak and infirm shuddered.

Were we not supposed to be rewarded for our merits after taking Iron Horse Village?

Even if you want the horses, you should at least ask nicely, not chill our hearts this way.

But a military order is a military order, and those who violate it will be executed!

However, everyone’s gaze, full of reluctance, fell on Sikong Jing, naturally waiting to see what he would do.

“Sikong Jing, you criminal, won’t you dismount?

Don’t you believe I’ll chop off your head right now?”

Seeing that the people before him remained unmoved, Chou Ye grew furious, brandishing the great saber in his hands and pointing it at Sikong Jing.

The soldiers behind him drew their weapons as well, their murderous intent converging and bearing down on Sikong Jing and the three thousand with him.

At this moment, Ah Hu whispered from behind Sikong Jing, “Brother Sikong, a wise man does not eat the loss before his eyes, just bear with him for now.”

Three thousand against nearly thirty thousand, a tenfold difference, impossible to overcome by force.

Moreover, Chou Ye was a legitimate General of Great Shang, and resisting would amount to rebellion, a grave matter indeed.

Hearing this, Sikong Jing shook his head and smiled, “Brothers, anyone interested in joining me for a battle of one against ten?”

“Huh?”

As this statement came out, everyone, regardless of side, was startled.

What was Sikong Jing planning?

Suddenly, Sikong Jing vanished from atop his warhorse and reappeared on the head of Chou Ye’s horse, grasping Chou Ye’s saber in front of everyone and twisting it into a corkscrew.

In the instant before Chou Ye could react, he reached out his hand…

slap!

A palm struck Chou Ye’s face, then he leaped back, landing once more on his warhorse and pointing his Long Spear while shouting low, “Anyone interested in joining me for a battle of one against ten?

Answer me now!”

His voice carried far and wide, shaking the entire field.

Everyone shuddered, blood surging with excitement, and it was unclear who was the first to bellow, “I will.”

Following that cry, the responses of the three thousand, weak and ailing, echoed back and forth.

“I’m willing to follow Commander Sikong and beat Chou Ye until even his mother wouldn’t recognize him.”

“I’ve long found Chou Ye displeasing, good for nothing but taking bribes.”

“We were injured and should have been well cared for, yet they sent us to die, we are human too!”

“Kill, take down Chou Ye!”

The cries rose to the heavens.

Though but three thousand soldiers, their spirit at this moment far surpassed that of Chou Ye’s forces.

Chou Ye, covering his face, stared madly at Sikong Jing, “You dare hit me, motherfucker, I’ll kill you!”

He had already been slapped by Sikong Jing at the Su Residence, and now to be slapped again before so many subordinates, where could he put his face?

Without killing Sikong Jing, he could not quell the hatred in his heart.

In a rush of impulse, Chou Ye charged toward Sikong Jing.

Slap!

What met him was another palm from Sikong Jing, this time sending him tumbling off his horse.

Sikong Jing looked down at him, “If this were a real battlefield, you would have died ten thousand times over by now, but for the moment, you can’t die.”

Having said that, Sikong Jing lifted his head and ordered, “Follow me, and charge…”

Sikong Jing led the charge, storming into the midst of Chou Ye’s nearly thirty thousand troops.

Old Zhang and Ah Hu exchanged glances behind him, and after a moment’s hesitation, they both gritted their teeth and charged in unison.

In the blink of an eye, the three thousand sick and feeble soldiers charged forth wildly, and under Sikong Jing’s leadership, they made the enemy crumble at the first blow.

One by one, they fought with a surge of ferocity, their blades merciless.

In contrast, Chou Ye’s nearly thirty thousand soldiers, with Chou Ye having been unseated, quickly saw their battle intent diminish, their courage shattered, and they were scattered, some already shrieking and attempting to flee.

Suddenly, Xing E said in a mix of haste and fury, “You criminal, you dare to take action.”

“I’m going back to Yunye City right now to report to the City Lord, to have them kill your wife and ruin your Su Family.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Xing E turned his horse around and sped off.

But…

Having only run a few steps, Xing E felt a pain in his chest.

A Long Spear had pierced his heart from behind, and soon after came the increasingly close voice of Sikong Jing, “You should never have threatened me with my family, so you’re dead.”
