Berserk God of War

123: Chapter 123: Brothers Reunite, The Order to Retreat 123: Chapter 123: Brothers Reunite, The Order to Retreat As his voice fell, Fan Zhong’s expression suddenly froze, his complexion flickering with shock and doubt.

If they failed to rescue Sikong Jing this time, the remaining broken troops would only be slaughtered clean by the enraged warriors of Xia Country.

But if Sikong Jing succeeded, at least the Jin Sect affair could be considered closed for a time.

As the Commander of Yunzhou War Mansion, even if he didn’t gain the most credit, he would still be recognized as the second most meritorious.

“Hear the order, attack the city again,” decided Fan Zhong, still somewhat sensible, and immediately issued the command anew.

Atop the city wall, Princess Die Lian’s face turned ashen.

When she received the news of Sikong Jing’s disappearance, she had crazily burst out of the city tower, but it was already too late; Sikong Jing had already led his Soldier Killing into the city.

And while she spoke of assembling forces to crush Sikong Jing’s hundred thousand troops, Fan Zhong had resumed the siege.

If they sent all their main force now against Sikong Jing, the three hundred thousand army outside would surely break in, but if they didn’t send all their main force to attack, could they then stop Sikong Jing?

“Half stay behind, the other half follow me to crush Sikong Jing,” she commanded after a mere moment of hesitation, leading half the main force towards Sikong Jing.

In truth, she had no choice.

“Quick, no hesitation, charge towards Tianlong Villa,” urged Sikong Jing, spurring his horse to a gallop, with a hundred thousand troops quickly following suit.

Meanwhile, inside Tianlong Villa, Sui Yu received a report from a Little Demonic Rat spy and immediately barked, “Everyone follow me to break out and join forces with the troops of Yunzhou War Mansion.

We must fight to the death to escape.”

Outside Tianlong Villa, there were also Xia Country experts stationed, including war formations laid out, and not a small number of them either.

But Sui Yu had to break through and meet up with Sikong Jing.

Kill, kill, kill…

Outside Tianlong Villa, Sui Yu led the experts of Jin Sect and the local elites of Yanyun City into a frenzied battle with the Xia Country experts suppressing them.

On the streets, Sikong Jing sensed Sui Yu’s presence and didn’t decrease his speed.

He knew he needed to meet up with Sui Yu, and it had to be before the approaching Xia Country experts caught up, or else their entire force would perish.

Only with both Sui Yu and the experts of Jin Sect, plus the hundred thousand troops, could they truly contend against the Xia Country experts.

Similarly, Princess Die Lian sensed the presence coming from Tianlong Villa and declared forcefully, “Defend Tianlong Villa, it must not be breached.”

With extreme urgency in her heart, she might very well fail.

However, Sui Yu’s desperation was no joke, and after being trapped inside Tianlong Villa for a full Jiutian, seeing now the hope of leaving alive, why wouldn’t the people of Jin Sect be crazed?

A wild cry suddenly rose: “Big brother, we’ve broken out!”

Sikong Jing looked towards the direction of Tianlong Villa, his face showing a look of thrill.

At last, he heard Sui Yu’s voice, at last, he confirmed Sui Yu wasn’t dead, his brother was still alive.

Quick, quick, quick…

The pounding of galloping hooves rose as a hundred thousand troops finally converged with Sui Yu and nearly a thousand remnant experts of Jin Sect in an instant, just as Princess Die Lian and other powerful enemies were about to catch up, Sikong Jing and Sui Yu exchanged glances.

Then Sui Yu took the lead and commanded, “For the Yunzhou War Mansion Soldiers, block the Xia Country experts.”

Sikong Jing also shouted, “Hear the order, keep charging, slay the Xia Country experts who are pursuing Jin Sect.”

The two forces passed each other by, Sui Yu with nearly a thousand experts stopping Princess Die Lian and the Xia Country main force, while Sikong Jing with a hundred thousand troops charged at those Xia Country experts emerging in pursuit from Tianlong Villa.

Boom, boom, boom…

Instantaneously, a relentless battle unfolded, with Sui Yu and the others clashing expert against expert.

On Sikong Jing’s side, the onslaught was unceasing, cries of battle echoed, scattering the Xia Country experts who came pursuing Sui Yu.

After a wave of attacks, Sui Yu and other strong warriors from Jin Sect retreated, falling among the hundreds of thousands of troops.

At last, in the ranks of the Sikong Realm, there were Transcendent and Heaven Realm warriors in command, and it was no longer just the City Guard Soldiers.

They faced Princess Die Lian coldly, a terrifying oppressive force soaring into the sky, as if the dark clouds overshadowed the heavens.

Princess Die Lian also stopped launching attacks, but her icy gaze swept over the people of the Great Shang Dynasty in front of her, finally setting on Sikong Jing.

With a furious expression, she said, “Sikong Jing.”

Those three words, as if carrying her extremely complex and outraged emotions.

Defeated again, they had actually managed to join forces successfully.

For two consecutive days, suffering two devastating defeats in a row, the proud Princess Die Lian was uncontrollably enraged.

At this moment, Sui Yu did not hesitate to stand in front of Sikong Jing, chuckling, “Beauty, shouldn’t you be focusing your attention on me now?”

No one could target Brother Sikong; he must protect and escort him now to ensure he could successfully recover and rebuild.

Seeing Sikong Jing being shielded, Princess Die Lian grew even angrier and said, “Good, good, good, this is the first time I, Xia Dalian, have suffered such a miserable defeat, but no matter, I want you alive today.”

She really did not want to kill Sikong Jing, but instead was very interested in capturing him to take back home to see what was so special about this little Dark Realm Peak.

Meanwhile, Sikong Jing whispered a few words behind Sui Yu.

After expressing his understanding, Sui Yu then smiled at Princess Die Lian and said, “Beauty, now that you are already defeated, you still make such boastful claims?”

Bursting into laughter, Sui Yu suddenly shouted, “Outside, is that Commander Fan Zhong of Yunzhou War Mansion?

I am the Commander of Jin Sect within Yanyun City, and Brother Sikong has already expressed your merits to me.”

“Now lead the troops into the city, the chief merit is yours.”

The voice carried far and wide, reaching outside the city.

Outside, Commander Fan Zhong, who wasn’t very enthusiastic about the fight, was greatly shocked, a burst of excitement flashing through his eyes.

Chief merit?

Everything Sikong Jing had said was true; he intended to give all the credit to him.

This lad is reliable!

“All listen to my command, Commander Sikong has already joined forces with the big shots from Jin Sect, charge into the city, and there will be handsome rewards.”

With that said, the soldiers, as if invigorated, rushed to attack and break into the city.

Princess Die Lian’s complexion changed, as did the expressions of the Xia Country’s strong warriors.

Sikong Jing and Sui Yu in front of them were already tough to deal with, and if combined with the high-spirited three hundred thousand soldiers of the Yunzhou War Mansion, their defeat seemed almost certain.

However, just as Fan Zhong was about to break into the Inner City, a voice rang out: “Fan Zhong, Commander Fan.”

Hearing this voice, Fan Zhong immediately reined in his warhorse to look towards the source of the sound, asking in surprise, “Chief Lan, why have you come?”

The person who had arrived was none other than the steward from the lord’s own mansion of Yunzhou, a man of modest rank but representative of the Lord of Yunzhou.

This person’s surname was Lan, named Lan Shou.

Lan Shou spoke with a smile, “I bring good news, the people of Jin Sect in Yanyun Inner City need no rescue, withdraw the troops.”

Upon hearing this, Fan Zhong could hardly believe his ears; was he here to issue such an order?

“But, why?” Fan Zhong asked, bewildered, as a great achievement was within reach.

Lan Shou shrugged, “I don’t know why either, this is the order from the Lord of Yunzhou, you should be happy about it.”

Given Fan Zhong’s abilities, he could not possibly have taken Yanyun City.

For him, a withdrawal was indeed good news.

“But Chief Lan, look, we are about to succeed,” Fan Zhong said, pointing at the city gates with a frown.

It was only then that Lan Shou noticed the surroundings; seeing the broken city gates beyond the horse corpses, his mouth dropped open in astonishment.

Fan Zhong had actually succeeded in breaching the city; was he dreaming?

No, this was not something he should have been able to accomplish.
