Berserk God of War

105: Chapter 105: Summoning Sikong Jing 105: Chapter 105: Summoning Sikong Jing Several days later, three uninvited guests suddenly arrived at the Su Family in Yunye City.

They were none other than City Lord Duan Chengshan, Hall Master Xing E of the Patrol Hall, and City Guard General Chou Ye.

Su Zhenglong greeted them, completely bewildered, “City Lord, your presence at the Su Residence honors us.

Forgive me for not having welcomed you from afar.”

He didn’t know what urgent matter had brought Duan Chengshan here, but it seemed the visit was not well-intentioned.

Still squinting his eyes in a facade of amiability, Duan Chengshan smiled and inquired, “The Yunzhou competition is just a month away.

How is Patriarch Su’s daughter preparing?”

“She hasn’t neglected her cultivation a single day,” Su Zhenglong replied.

But in the very next instant, Duan Chengshan’s face turned frosty, and he said sternly, “Call your son-in-law.

I have urgent matters to discuss.”

Su Zhenglong’s body trembled slightly.

Confused, but with no other choice, he summoned Sikong Jing.

Inside the Su family’s great hall, Duan Chengshan fixed his gaze on Sikong Jing, “Do you know who that beautiful man was at the Martial Arts Arena that day?”

A glint of coldness flashed through Sikong Jing’s eyes, but he remained silent.

Meanwhile, Su Zhenglong grew anxious.

That beautiful man was Ajing’s junior brother—had something major happened?

Duan Chengshan continued, “He is from Great Shang Brocade Gate, and now he is in deep trouble.

He killed the Eldest Prince of Xia Country within Tianlong Villa in Yanyun City and has been trapped there for three days with his fate unknown.”

Upon hearing this, Sikong Jing looked up abruptly, a growing murderous intent flickering in his eyes.

“No one expected that there would be a prince of Xia Country within Tianlong Villa.”

“Now that the Eldest Prince of Xia Country is dead, the whole of Yunzhou has already started to descend into chaos.

The great army of Xia Country is at the border, and their sleeper agents within Yunzhou have all been activated, with Bandits Ma rampant!”

“Our Yunye City has received orders from the Lord of Yunzhou to join the remaining twenty-seven cities in Yunzhou and dispatch troops to Yanyun City.”

“We must swiftly retake Yanyun City and rescue the people from Brocade Gate.”

Having said that, Duan Chengshan lower his voice and intensified his stare at Sikong Jing, while his smile grew even wider.

Of course, he hadn’t come specifically to inform Sikong Jing.

Once he had received the news, Duan Chengshan was overwhelmed with elation—the Brocade Gate beauty who had been monitoring him was trapped in Yanyun City, and it was very possible that he was already dead.

This damned criminal, whether related to the Brocade Gate beauty or not, was now someone he could easily manipulate.

Therefore, Duan Chengshan immediately paid a visit to the Su Residence to disclose everything.

Sikong Jing met Duan Chengshan’s gaze with a detached tone, “I’m just an exile, what does this have to do with me?”

Internally, he was anxious for Sui Yu, but he was still unclear on what Duan Chengshan’s intentions were—whether he had discovered Sikong Jing’s identity or the connection between Sui Yu and himself—hence the question.

“General Chou Ye mentioned that you displayed outstanding performance during the raid against the Fierce Beast Bandits.

Therefore, I have come to enlist you,” Duan Chengshan finally revealed his purpose for the visit.

In an instant, Su Zhenglong, who stood nearby, froze and loudly responded, “City Lord, Ajing has never been a soldier; he might become a hindrance.”

It turns out he had come to conscript Sikong Jing.

Wasn’t this sending him to his death?

Duan Chengshan was clearly there to settle a personal score, emboldened by the impending death of the Brocade Gate beauty’s junior brother.

“You don’t want to go, right?

That’s not impossible…” Duan Chengshan’s eyes narrowed, and then he barked, “Hand over three pieces of Green Jade Paper and all the treasures you possess, and I might make concessions.”

No sooner had his words fallen than Su Zhenglong couldn’t help but curse inwardly; Duan Chengshan still had his mind on Ajing’s treasures.

It seemed they had no choice but to comply; otherwise, given the scale of the war, Ajing’s fate was certain death.

“I’ll go!”

However, just as Su Zhenglong was considering how to bargain with Duan Chengshan, Sikong Jing opened his eyes and declared firmly.

Suddenly, the whole room was taken aback.

Xing E couldn’t help but bellow, “Criminal, do you want treasures or not value your life?”

In their opinion, Sikong Jing definitely wouldn’t dare to go, so he would have no choice but to hand over the treasures.

Then, they would wait and see how the battle was going, and if that handsome man was confirmed dead, they would kill Sikong Jing in revenge for their blood hatred.

But this criminal, without a hint of hesitation, said.

“Yes, I would rather die than give you the treasure,” Sikong Jing said offhand.

“Your mom…”

Chou Ye couldn’t help but curse, but Duan Chengshan fiercely restrained him, and asked again, “Are you sure you want to go?”

“Yes,” Sikong Jing’s voice was still resolute.

With Sui Yu’s fate uncertain and such an opportunity before him, how could Sikong Jing not go?

Even if Duan Chengshan hadn’t come to call him deliberately, Sikong Jing would have found a way to leave the city to save Sui Yu.

The corners of everyone’s mouths twitched fiercely.

Suddenly, Duan Chengshan burst out laughing, “Not bad, not bad, even as a criminal, you’re a good son of the Great Shang Dynasty.

Get ready, meet at the city gate in two hours.”

“And you will serve under General Chou Ye.”

After speaking, Duan Chengshan left with the two men.

As Chou Ye left, he kept sneering coldly at Sikong Jing, his eyes as venomous as a viper’s.

“Ajing, how could you agree to this?”

After seeing them out of the door, Su Zhenglong quickly said, “This is war, the war between Xia Country and the Great Shang Dynasty, and what’s more, being under Chou Ye’s command, he will make sure you meet your end.”

“Why didn’t Duan Chengshan force you to hand over the treasure again?

Because once you’re gone, there will be plenty of chances to force you.”

Su Zhenglong saw through the strategies of Duan Chengshan and the others quite clearly.

Before Sikong Jing could reply, Mei Xiaofang, also hearing the news, stormed over, “Ajing, have you lost your mind?

Do you want Yue Xi to be widowed?”

And Su Yuexi also arrived, standing at the door, her eyes red with tears.

Sikong Jing took a deep breath and said, “Sui Yu is my brother; I have to go.”

Once he said this, the Su Zhenglong couple suddenly realized that the handsome man was Sikong Jing’s brother, and he was going to save him.

“But how can you possibly save him?”

The handsome man was obviously a powerful figure and had also killed the Eldest Prince of Xia Country.

Sikong Jing was so weak—how could he possibly save him?

“As long as Sui Yu is not dead, I will surely be able to save him.”

Sikong Jing’s gaze was firm as he turned back to Su Yuexi and said, “I’m sorry Yue Xi, I really have no choice but to go.”

Caught off guard, Su Yuexi suddenly smiled, “You should go.

Without the Sui brothers, our whole family would have perished.”

Sikong Jing’s eyes widened in surprise; he hadn’t expected Su Yuexi to respond like this.

“Gratitude demands action, father, mother, you agree, don’t you?” Su Yuexi asked.

The couple opened their mouths but didn’t know how to persuade anymore, as Yuexi had already put it into words.

At that moment, Sikong Jing pulled Su Yuexi into a tight embrace and said passionately, “Don’t worry, even if it’s for your sake, I will make sure I come back alive.”

With a wife like this, what more could a husband ask for?

Indeed, it was right for Su Yuexi to be selfish, yet she tearfully agreed out of the guilt she would feel if she lived on without him.

Loving such a Yue Xi, how could one not?

Soon, under the farewell of Su Yuexi and the other two, Sikong Jing, holding his long spear, stepped through the gates of the Su Residence and gradually disappeared.
