Berserk God of War

107: Chapter 107: Who Else?

Sikong Jing saw the disbelief on Old Zhang’s and Ah Hu’s faces, but he only smiled, offering no explanation.

According to the intelligence, the Boss of Iron Horse Village was only at the Human Realm Sixth Level, and although everyone there practiced martial arts, and the Dark Realm had many experts, to Sikong Jing, storming into Dragon Pond alone would suffice to slaughter them all.

However, he needed to train his troops, so naturally, he would not go alone.

“Let’s keep moving,” Sikong Jing said without elaborating, deciding to speak more once they arrived.

But just then, someone shouted from behind, “We’re not going anymore, it’s a death sentence either way, better to die here than there.”

At those words, Old Zhang and Ah Hu’s faces changed dramatically, their worst fear materializing.

…Rebellion…

These weak, sickly, and disabled people saw not a glint of hope for life, and after escaping the threats of Chou Ye, they were bound to revolt.

If they were just ordinary soldiers, they might not dare, but among these three thousand men were instigators from the prison who would stir up trouble and cause a massive upheaval!

“That’s right, we’re not going,” they echoed.

“We heard you offended General Chou Ye, and he wants you dead.

Why should we accompany you to our graves?”

“And those exiled criminals, what gives you the right to command us?”

As one person started, the rest burst into rebellion, hurling abuse at Sikong Jing and his companions.

The issue with Old Zhang and Ah Hu having offended Chou Ye was already well-known in the City Guard General Mansion.

Seeing the crowd’s fury, Old Zhang asked with a pale face, “Brother Sikong, what do we do?”

They were just small-time City Guard Generals from Yunye City, having never witnessed such a scene, they found themselves at a loss.

“I anticipated this, I’ve been waiting for them to pull something like this,” Sikong Jing said, his eyes squinting calmly.

He then turned around and walked towards the ringleader step by step.

The man was middle-aged, with dense tattoos across his body, a clear indication that he was no good.

As Sikong Jing approached, the man puffed up his chest, projecting an air of ‘what can you do to me?’

More and more people started to gather behind him, each of them sneering at Sikong Jing relentlessly.

Old Zhang reminded in a low voice from behind Sikong Jing, “His name is Liu Qiang, a troublemaker from the prison, and he was quite a thorn there.”

Ah Hu added, “He used to be a bandit, and his strength has reached the Human Realm First Level.

Chou Ye brought them over, ostensibly to increase numbers, but probably to have them stir up trouble and conveniently clean out Yunye City’s prison.”

Sikong Jing listened to these reminders but gave no direct response.

When he faced Liu Qiang, he casually asked, “You don’t want to go?”

Liu Qiang sneered, “Right, why should we accompany you to our deaths?

Better to desert right here.”

At those words, Sikong Jing laughed, a happy laugh that nonetheless sent chills down the spine.

“Do you know the consequences of deserting before battle?”

Hearing Sikong Jing’s question, Liu Qiang maintained a defiant look, smirking, “At worst, I… die!”

Before he could finish, the word “die” was stuck in his throat as a long spear pierced through his chest.

Liu Qiang stared incredulously at Sikong Jing, stuttering, “You, you dare kill me?”

…Thud…

Sikong Jing pulled out the spear, wiped the blood off it, and replied, “Deserters are executed, instigators of mutiny are executed.

Didn’t you anticipate your death when you began to incite?”

Liu Qiang’s eyes widened as he fell heavily to the ground, lifeless.

At the same moment, Sikong Jing looked at the dozens following Liu Qiang.

Their aura had vanished, their faces pale; some were from prison, others soldiers who didn’t want to die and thought themselves clever.

Whether they were prisoners or soldiers, none had expected Sikong Jing to be so ruthless, so decisive.

In the eyes of the onlookers, Sikong Jing, a banished criminal, had never led troops.

Old Zhang and Ah Hu were also worried about this and that, causing the three of them to be at a loss for what to do.

But the reality was Liu Qiang was dead, and Sikong Jing’s spear was so heartless, as cold as the chill of a dark prison.

“Any others who want to desert, step forward.”

All of a sudden, Sikong Jing bellowed, and a fierce battle aura abruptly rose up, fiercely sweeping around.

It felt to everyone present as if there was a huge stone pressing on their chests, making it impossible to breathe.

Ah Hu and Old Zhang, on the other hand, looked on as if they were witnessing a terrifying, peerless general.

At that moment, they felt compelled to submit.

Suddenly, a young man growled, “There are so many of us, what’s there to fear from him?”

This person was Liu Qiang’s brother, but no sooner had the words fallen than a long spear swept across, and a head shot up into the sky.

The youth didn’t even have time to scream before his head hit the ground!

“Ah!”

Such a scene caused the surrounding three thousand people to cry out in unison, as chills ran through them.

Sikong Jing, holding his long spear, pointed it around: “Anyone else?”

No one dared to speak anymore, each face pale as paper, silent as cicadas in cold weather.

But at that moment, an elderly soldier stepped forward, speaking weakly, “Commander Sikong, we are willing to go, but if certain death awaits, is there no other way?”

His words were very tactful.

Why fight a battle doomed to be lost?

Sikong Jing narrowed his eyes as he looked at him, speaking slowly, “I guarantee not a single man will be lost in this battle, you just need to follow my orders and you won’t die, believe it or not…

it’s up to you…”

“And even if you don’t believe it, you still have to follow, or you will be executed on the spot.”

Having said that, Sikong Jing turned and walked away, then added, “Old Zhang, Ah Hu, anyone who dares to disobey my orders, behead them!”

After a pause, Sikong Jing then pointed to Liu Qiang’s body and said, “From now on, for those doomed to die, there’s no need to report their names to me.

Dead men…

don’t deserve names!”

As they watched Sikong Jing return to the front of the ranks, Old Zhang and Ah Hu exchanged a look, feeling a nameless shock in their hearts.

Sikong Jing was indeed from the Great Shang Army, so adept in everything he did.

But such actions could only temporarily suppress the rebellious spirit of the troops.

The real test was yet to come at Iron Horse Village.

If anything went slightly awry, those under his iron-fisted rule would scatter in all directions, disintegrating into a rout.

In the blink of an eye, they had arrived at Iron Horse Ridge.

Before them lay an atmosphere of stern slaughter, like a terrifying hell that wanted to swallow everyone.

Three thousand soldiers trembled on the spot.

“Old Zhang, Ah Hu, where are you?” Suddenly, Sikong Jing called out in a low voice.

The two exchanged glances and bowed, saying, “Your subordinates are here.”

“In a quarter of an hour, follow the route I outlined on the map, split the troops into two groups and invade Iron Horse Ridge, targeting Iron Horse Village.”

Having said this, Sikong Jing showed them the map with two lines he had outlined, then threw it back to them.

Then he, holding his spear alone, stepped into Iron Horse Ridge.

The two were stunned and hurriedly asked, “Brother Sikong, where are you going?”

“To kill, to massacre!”

Sikong Jing slowly uttered these two words as his figure gradually disappeared from everyone’s sight.

Ah Hu opened his mouth wide in shock, “Brother Sikong isn’t planning on storming Dragon Pond alone, is he?”

Recalling the situation at the Luoshui Jade Line’s auxiliary residence, Old Zhang’s mouth twitched as he said, “It must be.”

The two looked at each other.

This time it wasn’t just hundreds of people, but three thousand, and they were prepared.

Brother Sikong, isn’t this overestimating oneself?
