117: Chapter 117: With Big Brother Here, What is There to Fear?

Her pretty face turned pale, and if they managed to get here, Jin Sect’s people would immediately respond, commit to a final do-or-die struggle, and at that time, with coordination from inside and outside, Xia Country’s forces would definitely be defeated.

Princess Die Lian’s fists clenched so tightly they creaked, her eyes unwillingly fixed on Tianlong Villa.

“Convey my orders, withdraw from Tianlong Villa, and have our main force attack the Yunzhou Battle Mansion’s hundred thousand soldiers.”

Her eyes turned bloodshot, just as she was about to avenge her Eldest Imperial Brother’s deep-seated hatred, she was forced to call back her troops.

But what could she do about it?

As a commander, she had to make the most precise decisions.

Otherwise, not only she would die.

“Annihilate them, make sure to wipe out that damned hundred thousand soldiers, give none the chance to live.”

“However, this man named Sikong Jing, I want…

to capture him alive.”

Her voice almost seemed to squeeze through her teeth, her hatred for this commander named Sikong Jing was bone-deep.

…

In the streets of Yanyun City, as Sikong Jing advanced, he sternly watched in the direction of Tianlong Villa.

At that moment, a powerful aura flashed out from Tianlong Villa.

Sikong Jing secretly sighed with relief, it seemed they had made it in time, forcing Xia Country’s army to leave Tianlong Villa to confront them.

“All men listen up.”

Seeing this, Sikong Jing’s voice spread throughout the entire army, “Slow down the charge, and be ready to leave the city at any moment.”

“Ah?”

The soldiers, energized in their charge, couldn’t help but express their confusion.

A few leading spies even asked in bewilderment, “General Sikong, why are we retreating now?

We haven’t rescued anyone yet.”

“We have already rescued them.”

Sikong Jing replied, “Now that Xia Country’s main force has already left Tianlong Villa, they will come to kill us, and we cannot stop them.

The only option is to retreat first; otherwise, the entire army will be annihilated.”

With that, Sikong Jing looked again at the few spies.

“You guys hide in the surroundings first, then find a way to inform the people of Jin Sect in Tianlong Villa.

Say that the leading troops are under Sikong Jing, and when you hear any commotion next time, come out and join forces with me.”

The spies, still not entirely understanding the situation, nodded and disappeared back into the buildings of Yanyun City.

The pace of the hundred thousand charging soldiers continued to slow.

Sikong Jing glaredfierely, sensing the presence of Xia Country’s main force within Yanyun City, one moment, ten moments, thirty moments…

“All units, retreat!”

Taking the lead in turning his horse around, Sikong Jing led the hundred thousand soldiers and retreated without a moment’s hesitation.

They thundered back towards the outside of the city.

Meanwhile, the few thousand-strong main force of Xia Country, led by Princess Die Lian, charged from Tianlong Villa.

But when they saw the hundred thousand soldiers pouring out of the city gates, they were all stunned.

There was even an impulse to curse their mothers.

At this moment, a golden-armored middle-aged man appeared to report: “Princess, it seems the enemy anticipated our arrival and has fled.”

Princess Die Lian stared ferociously at the rolling dust at the city gate, her expression wildly fluctuating.

The female guard hurriedly asked, “Princess, what should we do now?

Shall we kill our way back to Tianlong Villa or pursue them?”

Upon hearing this, Princess Die Lian bit her silver teeth fiercely and shouted, “The siege momentum is broken, and returning to Tianlong Villa won’t result in easy success…

Pursue, obliterate Yunzhou’s hundred thousand soldiers for me.”

At her command, the few thousand-strong main force set out in hot pursuit, determined to slaughter Sikong Jing and his hundred thousand soldiers into mincemeat.

Princess Die Lian, however, did not join the chase, but stood her ground, her chest heaving violently.

“Who exactly is this Sikong Jing?

How is he able to grasp everything with such precision?”

Princess Die Lian panted incessantly, wondering how such a minor figure from the Dark Realm could possess such formidable judgment.

If he had exited the city any later, he would certainly have died, but his timing was impeccable, neither too early nor too late.

Unfortunately, nobody had heard of that name, even though Xia Country’s intelligence network was deeply entrenched in Yunzhou.

Who would take notice of a minor figure from the Dark Realm?

As for Shang Country’s Invincible God General, of course no one made that connection.

The name the Shang Country had recently made public was Yuwen Guan!

…

Within Tianlong Villa, Sui Yu and his Jin Sect followers sat among a pile of corpses, their bodies bathed in blood and gasping for breath.

“Young Master, it seems we have survived again,”

remarked a Jin Sect follower, eyes wide with disbelief as he looked at the severely wounded Sui Yu.

Everyone had thought this battle would be their last, but the Xia Country’s experts had suddenly retreated.

These eight days had been excruciating.

If it weren’t for Young Master Sui Yu’s Martial Arts Realm, which was beyond what the outside world could fathom, and an even more astonishing command ability, they probably would have died to the last man.

“It seems we have survived, but how did we survive?” asked Sui Yu, clearly confused.

He had always concealed his true Martial Arts Realm, and nobody outside knew how far he had trodden on the path of transcendence—nor that he, a frivolous dandy, could also have the bearing of a great general.

If it hadn’t been for dire necessity, Sui Yu would not have wanted to unleash his true power, but rather continue to conceal it.

Otherwise, if Yan Ruyu found out, suspicion would be inevitable.

Yet the battle at Tianlong Villa forced him to unleash his full strength.

Even so, there was no hope in sight during the recent battle—Xia Country’s main force had retreated under mysterious circumstances, leaving him completely clueless about the situation.

Naturally, no one could answer his question, but it certainly wasn’t because Xia Country’s people suddenly lost the desire to avenge the Eldest Prince.

“Hmm?”

Suddenly, in the hands of a local powerhouse who had been rallied by Sui Yu from Yanyun City, a Little Demonic Rat appeared, bearing a note.

The individual took the note, his body shaking slightly as he read it, then quickly handed it to Sui Yu.

Sui Yu was not surprised.

This local powerhouse had connections with spies.

He quickly took the note and his pupils began to constrict, tears uncontrollably welling up in his eyes.

“Big Brother, this is too dangerous,”

he muttered.

The note was from the few spies who had just departed from Sikong Jing, conveyed by the Little Demonic Rat.

It was Sikong Jing’s instruction—that upon any further signal, Sui Yu was to coordinate from within and break out of Tianlong Villa.

But why did Big Brother reveal his name?

If Yan Ruyu were to find out, it would be a situation of life or death.

It wouldn’t be hard to keep hiding within Yunye City, but once he managed to rescue himself, concealing the truth of his Martial Arts practice would become nearly impossible.

Big Brother was risking his life to save him.

Still, he knew that if Brother Sikong did not reveal his name, he might not have fully trusted the message and possibly would have lost all hope of life.

With tears in his eyes, Sui Yuli commanded, “Everyone rest immediately, and prepare to fight for our lives at any moment.”

No matter what, with Big Brother by his side, what was there to fear?

…

Outside the city, Mo Yang’s troops, twenty thousand strong, thrown into utter chaos by the slaughter, finally regrouped.

Of course, they dared not follow into the city.

From the awesome charge to the actual breakthrough, they had been bewildered—Sikong Jingzhen had really breached the gate and stormed in.

They had accomplished the impossible, as if in a dream.

“Deputy Commander Mo, what should we do now?” asked a cavalry General.

If they made no move now, they could very well be considered a rebel army, but charging in seemed tantamount to seeking death—they were still very much aware of their situation.

Boom, boom, boom…

Before Mo Yang could make a decision, the sound of horse hooves thundered from the city gates.

Leading ten thousand troops, Sikong Jingzhen was actually charging out again.

What now?
