Berserk God of War

Su Zhenglong also felt that way.

“What a pity that Brother Sui Yu himself seems to be troubled.

Otherwise, he could help us find Yue Xian.”

Su Zhenglong let out another sigh.

It had been a month since Su Yue Immortal had left, and the couple’s hearts were filled with worry.

Had the organization discovered Su Yue Immortal, the top assassin she killed?

…

Meanwhile, Sikong Jing didn’t know that his in-laws had once again taken his words for bragging.

At the moment, he and Su Yuexi had returned to their room.

This was their bridal room after the death of Su Xuefeng, adorned with red double happiness papers, presenting a joyful newlywed atmosphere.

They had been married for only two months.

Inside the room, their heartbeats accelerated, and Su Yuexi’s cheeks grew redder, looking incredibly beautiful under the candlelight.

“Brother Jing, I want to become your real bride,” Su Yuexi suddenly mustered the courage to say.

Sikong Jing took a deep breath, “I am a criminal, following me you will face unimaginable dangers.”

He didn’t think he could be so selfish; the enemy was too frightening.

However, Su Yuexi suddenly smiled, “I am also your devoted ugly monster.

We are made for each other.”

His mind trembled fiercely, and Sikong Jing couldn’t help but embrace the woman he loved most.

The candlelight went out, and the two merged deeply into one another.

…

Over the next two days, Yunye City calmed down.

The death of City Lord Duan Chengshan didn’t cause much of a stir, because the return of 30,000 Yunye Soldiers had reassured the populace.

During these two days, there was also significant news.

The Great Shang Dynasty had dispatched its imperial armies into Yunzhou to clear the chaos within the region.

The two great dynasties confronted each other outside Yanyun City, on the verge of a large-scale battle.

But at least the situation within Yunzhou had calmed down considerably, and the Bandits Ma had decreased in number.

On the morning of the third day, Ah Hu rushed to the Su Residence.

After seeing Sikong Jing, he hurriedly said, “Brother Sikong, the Lord of Yunzhou has sent an envoy, specifically asking to see you.

Old Zhang is dealing with him, but the envoy will soon arrive at the Su Residence.”

Ah Hu was there to bring a warning.

A glint appeared in Sikong Jing’s eyes, and he nodded in understanding.

The Lord of Yunzhou, being forced back, surely harbored resentment.

Sikong Jing was worried about his safety, primarily concerned about the possibility of dying by the hands of bandits.

After the death of Duan Chengshan, people like Old Zhang and Ah Hu had been posing as the City Lord’s guard officers, handling all the affairs of the city, and naturally, they were the ones to welcome the envoy from the Lord of Yunzhou.

Two quarters of an hour later, the envoy from the Lord of Yunzhou arrived at the Su Residence with Old Zhang and others.

Having received the notice earlier, Su Zhenglong went out to greet them…

Before long, the envoy arrived in Sikong Jing and Su Yuexi’s room, only to find Sikong Jing lying on the bed, appearing sickly.

The envoy glanced at him and then ordered, “Bring someone to take his pulse.”

Soon a doctor-like old man stepped forward to take Sikong Jing’s pulse, and after a while, he stepped back and nodded, “Lord Lan, this exiled criminal is not a problem, all his meridians are severed.”

The envoy’s surname was Lan, the brother of the previously mentioned steward Lan Shou.

Pleased, the Lan Family Envoy said, “It seems that the Lord of Yunzhou’s concerns were superfluous.

It’s still difficult to die in such a large family as a son-in-law.”

“Moreover, with his Dantian dug out and meridians ruined, how could he possibly recover.”

Having said this, he looked at Su Zhenglong and spoke indifferently, “I have heard that your daughter, known as the ugliest in Yunzhou, has made a name for herself in Yunye City and is preparing to participate in the Yunzhou competition, isn’t that right?”

Su Zhenglong’s heart trembled slightly, and he answered with a nod, “Yes, Lord Lan.”

The messenger’s knowledge of this matter wasn’t surprising; previously, Duan Chengshan must have reported Su Yuexi’s name.

“The Lord of Yunzhou has issued an order.

Now that the situation has stabilized, the great competition of Yunzhou will proceed as usual.”

“Tomorrow morning, you will set off for Yunzhou City, and most importantly, you must bring your criminal son-in-law with you.”

Upon hearing this, Su Zhenglong was immediately stunned.

With such a terrifying situation at hand, the great competition of Yunzhou was still going on, and they had to bring Sikong Jing along?

Why?

“Lord Lan, may I ask what crime my son-in-law has committed?”

“Is it possible for me not to accept this son-in-law, and what is the purpose of this trip to Yunzhou?”

Su Zhenglong carefully asked several questions in succession.

Some of the question were sincere, while others were false, purely to gauge the attitude of the Lord of Yunzhou towards Sikong Jing.

However, the Lan Family Envoy coldly raised an eyebrow: “How would I know?

Even if I did, I wouldn’t tell you.

And as for your criminal son-in-law, don’t even think about disowning him, and don’t let him die.”

Having said that, the Lan Family Envoy turned and left…

Su Zhenglong quickly caught up, then discreetly handed over a pouch of money.

Glancing at him, the Lan Family Envoy accepted the pouch nonchalantly, and with a smile said, “Don’t even think of any tricks.

You must go to Yunzhou City.

As for your son-in-law’s identity, it is indeed mysterious; I genuinely don’t know.”

“But the Lord of Yunzhou mentioned one thing, it’s possible that during the great competition of Yunzhou City, it could be his time of death.”

“By then, you will be relieved.”

After finishing his words, the Lan Family Envoy truly left, leaving a bewildered Su Zhenglong behind.

When he returned to the room, Sikong Jing had already sat up, his face showing no signs of illness.

All that had just occurred was, of course, an act.

Although the Emperor Beheading Technique was special, his realm was still weak, and there were quite a few techniques that could fake the appearance of completely severed meridians.

Sikong Jing had not only read the books from the Emperor’s Vault.

When he subdued the unrest of the Seven Countries, he had also cleared through the books of the Seven Countries.

The knowledge he had acquired wasn’t something ordinary people could fathom, not even Yang Tianmo or Yan Ruyu knew how much knowledge he had stored in his mind.

Looking at Sikong Jing, Su Zhenglong repeated what the Lan Family Envoy had said, then added, “Ajing, what should we do about this?”

With a sharp gleam in his eyes, Sikong Jing’s lips curled into a faint cold smile.

“It must be an old friend from the past who wants to see the current me.”

“Don’t worry, they won’t let me die that easily.

The Lord of Yunzhou underestimates just how vicious those people can be.”

What does it mean that the great competition might be his time of death?

If Yan Ruyu had wanted him dead, he wouldn’t have been exiled here.

“Even so, it’s still very dangerous.

Shouldn’t we just avoid going?” Mei Xiaofang said anxiously.

Sikong Jing lowered his head and pondered.

If he didn’t go, his brothers imprisoned in the Imperial City Prison would be in great danger, potentially tortured to death at any moment…

But if he went, Su Yuexi along with his father-in-law and mother-in-law might be implicated and fall into danger as well.

“I must go, but I will go alone…”

Just as Sikong Jing hadn’t finished speaking, an icy voice suddenly came from outside, interrupting, “Su Yuexi, I hear you’re going to participate in the great competition of Yunzhou, is that correct?”

As the voice fell, the Su Zhenglong couple trembled, their eyes widening as they said together, “Yue Xian…”

Then, without waiting to hear what Sikong Jing had to say, they rushed out frantically.

At that moment, Su Yue Immortal’s voice came again: “Don’t go, no matter what, you must not participate.

Understand?”
