Berserk God of War

122: Chapter 122 Second Breach of the City 122: Chapter 122 Second Breach of the City Suddenly, the siege began with a thunderous roar…

A mighty army of six hundred thousand began to furiously assault the city walls.

Atop the city walls, the mighty warriors of Xia Country formed groups, continuously unleashing True Qi and arrows to reap lives; a series of pitiful screams rang out as Yunzhou City Guards were struck down from the walls, smashing into the ground like mangled meat.

In the blink of an eye, a quarter of an hour had passed, and the faces of all the generals had turned extremely grim, seeing not even a sliver of opportunity.

Fan Zhong, unable to contain himself, clutched his pale hand, trembling incessantly, suddenly yelled at Sikong Jing, “What rubbish strategy did you speak of?

If this battle ends with us being completely slaughtered, you alone will answer for it.”

The losses were too great, and at this rate, not even six hundred thousand men would suffice for the slaughter.

If the entire army were to be wiped out, he, Fan Zhong, would definitely be punished, so he immediately pushed the blame onto Sikong Jing.

It was all about seizing the credit and shifting the blame!

“Sikong Jing, what are you still standing there for?

Why aren’t you attacking the city?”

A second angry, aged rebuke resounded, and Mo Yang, who had become invigorated at some point, was seen.

He wanted Sikong Jing to hurry up and die in the siege.

However, Sikong Jing just shrugged his shoulders and replied, “If I die, who will take the blame for Lord Fan, you, Mo Yang?”

With that single sentence, Mo Yang was rendered speechless and quickly retreated far away.

Sikong Jing ignored the old troublemaker and paid no attention to anyone else, his gaze still fixed on the situation at the city walls.

Time passed…

The generals and City Guard Generals from various cities began advising Fan Zhong to retreat immediately, to avoid further losses.

And Fan Zhong twitched the corners of his mouth; if not for being called a waste, he would have retreated long ago.

But now the situation truly could not continue like this any longer; they were nearing a loss of three hundred thousand men, while the experts of Xia Country still seemed utterly relaxed; this was simply not a battle on the same level.

In resignation, Fan Zhong finally said wearily, “Let’s retreat.”

With the sounding of the retreat horn, the large army began to stop attacking the city, each running faster than a dog, with not a shred of battle intent.

“Hahahaha…”

Seeing this scene, the strong warriors atop the city walls erupted into derisive laughter.

At that moment, Sikong Jing made his move.

Suddenly, he dashed into the retreating crowd of soldiers, slipping through like a sneaky and cunning Flowing Cloud Flying Squirrel.

He immediately reached the midst of the warhorses, releasing a trace of the Master of Ten Thousand Beasts aura.

This trace of aura, while undetectable by the Heavenly Realm Beast Demons on the city walls, was perfectly sensed by the warhorses close at hand.

Instantly, the warhorses began to neigh loudly.

“Go, charge at the city gates!”

Among the warhorses, Sikong Jing issued a command they could understand.

At the same time, the Xia Country powerhouses, who had been watching Sikong Jing, trembled and shouted lowly, “That Sikong Jing has disappeared.”

“Quick, report to Princess Her Highness!” The second Xia Country powerhouse reacted and dashed toward the city tower.

Thud, thud, thud…

At that moment, the warhorses burst into a frenzied gallop toward the direction of the city gate.

In stark contrast to the retreating Yunzhou soldiers.

Atop the city walls, the laughter of the Xia Country strong warriors abruptly ceased; someone immediately commanded the Heavenly Realm Demon Beasts saying, “Quick, restrain the warhorses.”

Instantly, the warhorses became even more uncontrollable, turning into a chaotic mess in front of the city gate.

Yet, many warhorses still charged into the city gate, colliding with the Xia Country powerhouses standing guard, but were immediately slaughtered, their bodies piling up and forming high stacks.

“Soldiers, heed my command, I am Sikong Jing, mount up and charge the city,”

A loud explosion erupted from the chaotic scene, and soldiers feigning death among the bodies below the city walls opened their eyes.

They sprang up lively and leaped onto their warhorses as if flying.

The intimidation of the Heavenly Realm Demon Beast could not completely suppress the horses.

Once they had their riders, the horses immediately stabilized their emotions.

At this moment, Sikong Jing also mounted a warhorse and, brandishing his spear, pointed forward, “Charge!”

“Kill!”

A hundred thousand soldiers released a sky-piercing battle cry as they followed Sikong Jing into the city gates.

At that instant, horse carcasses and living warhorses packed inside the city gate completely blocked the vision of Xia Country’s warriors.

Before they could react, the horse carcasses in front of them suddenly burst into a spray of flesh, splattering their faces.

Long spears appeared, harvesting life!

The warhorses and soldiers charged, scattering the stunned warriors of Xia Country.

Behind Sikong Jing, Ah Hu and thousands of other generals, following Sikong Jing’s earlier instructions, had swept their weapons outward during the charge, slashing as many as they could.

If they couldn’t kill, they could at least temporarily force back Xia Country’s warriors.

In a blink of an eye, led by Sikong Jing, a stream of warhorses charged out within Yunye City, with killing shouts echoing through the city.

“Where is the spy?”

As soon as Sikong Jing entered the city, he roared, “No need to come out, inform the people of the Jin Sect at Tianlong Villa to come out and meet me.”

Upon hearing this, the spies in hiding released Little Demonic Rats one by one.

More and more warhorses charged into the city, converging into a river heading toward Tianlong Villa, their momentum like a deluge.

Outside the city gates, Fan Zhong, Mo Yang, and all the soldiers were utterly stunned.

From the chaos of the warhorses to people, who were clearly dead, suddenly coming back to life, to Sikong Jing leading his troops into the city—it all happened in just a dozen breaths.

Everything happened too quickly, so fast that they could hardly react.

Finally, a Deputy Commander angrily said, “It’s that lad Sikong Jing; he actually had his own plans all along.”

“He definitely fed the horses a small amount of madness-inducing drug in secret, yet claimed this method was useless.”

“He is using us, using the six-hundred-thousand-strong army to drain the strength of Xia Country’s warriors, striking the city gate alone when they let their guard down.”

“And his soldiers inside Yunye City were all feigning death, waiting for his command.”

One by one, they finally regained their senses, continuously roaring out Sikong Jing’s strategies.

At that moment, Mo Yang furiously said, “This little bastard, he’s actually taking advantage of Lord Fan’s effort to grab the glory.

Otherwise, why didn’t he share this strategy with us sooner?

He’s too arrogant.”

Another Deputy Commander bitterly said, “And his soldiers in Yunye City, they didn’t consider Lord Fan at all.”

Hearing these roars, Fan Zhong’s face turned so livid it seemed almost to drip juice.

“Sikong Jing, I’ll kill him.”

Fan Zhong was mad with rage.

To think such an excellent strategy was kept from him, it was clear he was not pleased with him taking the credit, wanting to continue showing off, to continue earning great merits!

This lad had always been so obedient before.

It was all an act.

However, Fan Zhong didn’t know that if Sikong Jing had really shared his plan in advance, it would have been strange if Xia Country’s warriors hadn’t noticed.

Moreover, once Fan Zhong knew of the plan, the forces used to attack and wear down the city would definitely have been the hundred thousand soldiers from Yunye City and Qingyun City.

Why would Sikong Jing let his own people suffer losses for nothing?

Suddenly, Sikong Jing’s voice came from within the city, “Fan Zhong, if you want to prove you’re not useless, immediately resume attacking the city to stall Xia Country’s warriors’ progression, or we will all perish.”

“After rescuing the person from Jin Sect, I don’t want any credit; it will all be yours.”
