Berserk God of War

119: Chapter 119 A Den of Snakes and Rats 119: Chapter 119 A Den of Snakes and Rats As Mo Yang’s words were spoken, the distance Sikong Jing’s one hundred thousand troops suddenly became agitated, their fury reaching the skies.

“Don’t hold me back, I want to kill that old bastard.”

They all went mad, wishing they could devour Mo Yang alive.

“Silence, all of you.”

Just as the one hundred thousand men were brimming with rage, Sikong Jing’s voice boomed out, and the crowd swiftly calmed down.

By now, Sikong Jing’s authority had reached its apex.

Then, Sikong Jing slowly turned around and swept his gaze across the one hundred thousand troops, saying, “I’m going to teach you all a lesson now, no matter on or off the battlefield, you must always stay calm.”

“Only with calmness can a troop become truly mature and evolve into a truly invincible force.”

After Sikong Jing finished speaking, his sharp gaze swept over everyone, and each person instinctively lowered their heads.

His presence made everyone genuinely fear from the bottom of their hearts.

“Moreover, we must despise the enemy in spirit but take them seriously in tactics.”

“Trash like Mo Yang doesn’t even deserve to be scorned by us; you should regard him as dung, even if he has stolen the credit now, tomorrow we can have him die on the battlefield.”

“Those who are incompetent and yet push themselves forward die the quickest.”

Every word from Sikong Jing went straight to their hearts, and the one hundred thousand troops nodded mutely like children.

Those who steal credit on the battlefield are often sent to do tasks they’re not capable of, which leads to bloody ends.

Then, who would believe that they had achieved any merit?

Commander Fan Zhong is not a fool.

“Also, what were you worried about earlier?”

“Weren’t you just worried that if we attacked Mo Yang, we would be treated as a rebel army?

How should we deal with the Commander?

Now, Mo Yang himself has admitted that we are not a rebel army.”

Upon hearing this, everyone had a sudden realization, and their gazes towards Sikong Jing shifted once more.

Could it be that even Mo Yang’s credit-stealing was within Sikong Jing’s expectations?

“Sikong Jing, come here.” Just at that moment, Fan Zhong, who naturally had noticed the one hundred thousand troops, called out loudly.

Everyone’s hearts clenched, looking at Sikong Jing with concern.

“Remember, despise Mo Yang.”

Sikong Jing reiterated firmly and then led his men on horses towards Fan Zhong.

When Fan Zhong saw the one hundred thousand troops, he was stunned.

These were the City Guards from Yunye City and Qingyun City?

They didn’t look like it at all; instead, they appeared more like the elite forces from the Border Battle City.

However, this thought was fleeting, and he angrily asked, “Are you Sikong Jing, the temporary Commander of Yunye City?”

Hearing this, Sikong Jing responded with a clasped fist: “Sikong Jing, at your service, Lord Commander.”

His tone was extremely calm, showing no particular respect for Fan Zhong.

“When Deputy Commander Mo breached the city, you disobeyed orders and led your troops to flee?” Fan Zhong demanded in a loud voice.

He had already heard Mo Yang’s introduction of Sikong Jing, a man from Jianghu, temporarily pulled in by Chou Ye of Yunye City to make up the numbers.

After Chou Ye died, this man took over as the temporary Commander and seemed to have a decent ability to lead the troops.

But fleeing with the troops this time was unforgivable.

Otherwise, they might have already taken Yanyun City and rescued the elders of the Jin Sect.

Sikong Jing replied with a laugh, “Mo Yang is the Deputy Commander.

Whatever he says naturally goes without saying, I dare not refute.”

He shrugged nonchalantly, his tone as indifferent as could be.

Such an attitude immediately aroused suspicion in Fan Zhong and the others.

They knew Mo Yang too well.

If this old ruffian really could take Yanyun City, it could only mean that his family’s ancestral graves were smoking with good fortune; there was no second possibility.

“What do you mean you dare not retort?

You can’t retort,” Mo Yang spat out fiercely when he heard this.

“Yes, yes, I can’t retort,”

Sikong Jing still spoke indifferently, then added, “Whatever you say goes.

I am willing to accept any punishment.”

“However, Lord Fan, since Deputy Commander Mo is so formidable, you must definitely send him back into the city, ah.”

As soon as these words came out, Mo Yang, who was preparing to continue his attack on Sikong Jing, suddenly changed his expression, his entire body erupting with chill.

At this moment, Ah Hu cheerfully said, “Right, Lord Mo is so mighty and overbearing.

He is indeed our role model and must enter the city again.”

Then the hundred thousand soldiers started laughing loudly, continuously praising Mo Yang.

Some even said that Mo Yang taking Yanyun City was an underutilization of his abilities, and he should be sent to fight on the Xia Country battlefield instead.

Mo Yang’s face grew darker and darker with fear and panic…

Suddenly he cried out in misery, “Ouch, I was just punched by a master of Xia Country, and my internal injury has recurred.

I need at least ten days of rest.”

Having said this, he made a concerted effort to wobble his body and even simulated frothing at the mouth, appearing on the verge of collapse.

To Fan Zhong and the rest watching this scene, they couldn’t help but twitch at the corners of their mouths.

When they looked at Sikong Jing again, everyone suddenly understood; it seemed that Mo Yang had usurped Sikong Jing’s credit.

Bullying him just because he was a temporary commander.

Taking a deep breath, Fan Zhong pondered and then said, “Since Deputy Commander Mo is so severely injured, you should go back and rest first.”

Mo Yang quickly agreed and didn’t dare to stay for a moment longer, fearing that Fan Zhong would actually have him lead troops into the city right now.

Next, Fan Zhong turned to scrutinize Sikong Jing from head to toe, “You can speak your mind now.”

Sikong Jing smiled back at Fan Zhong, shaking his head, “What I say may not be true, you should investigate it yourself, Lord Fan.”

After he finished speaking, Sikong Jing didn’t pay any further attention to Fan Zhong and waved his hand at the hundred thousand soldiers before leaving.

“You bastard, you actually dare to despise…”

A deputy commander couldn’t stand Sikong Jing’s attitude and wanted to step forward and challenge him.

But he was stopped by Fan Zhong, who said softly, “Don’t act rashly, let’s thoroughly investigate everything first.”

Before long, Fan Zhong learned of the entire situation, and his face was full of surprise.

“This Sikong Jing must be a military genius, but he’s still too young and impulsive,” Fan Zhong said, looking at the report in his hand, speaking to two deputy commanders beside him.

The report included how Sikong Jing led troops to resist Mo Yang’s oppression and how he managed to breach the city.

It was so spectacular that even Fan Zhong found it unbelievable.

To be able to use a hundred thousand troops to force Mo Yang to flee in such a sorry state, and to breach Yanyun City right after taking command, was definitely genius.

But, opposing Mo Yang and the attitude he had just shown to himself was just too rebellious.

At this moment, a deputy commander spoke, “Lord Fan, this is a great achievement.

Should we really credit a person from Jianghu with it?”

To breach Yanyun City with a hundred thousand troops and give the Jin Sect leaders a chance to breathe, this credit was too significant.

Not just Mo Yang, but anyone would wish to claim it for themselves.

Fan Zhong’s expression turned cold, and after a while, he raised his head and chuckled, “Young people shouldn’t stand out too much, they should be properly disciplined.

Such great merit can also attract jealousy.

It’s better if we take it on his behalf.”

As soon as he said this, the two deputy commanders started laughing as well.
