Berserk God of War

131: Chapter 131 The Vicious Couple 131: Chapter 131 The Vicious Couple As a member of one of the Five Great Families of the Great Shang Dynasty, Sui Wenzhan certainly understood that Yuwen Guan was not really the Invincible God General, nor was he the side-by-side prince, but the man who had taken everything from Sikong Jing.

But he dared not mention it, and no one in the Great Shang Imperial City dared to mention it either.

They could only regard Yuwen Guan as the Divine General!

Days passed, yet there was not a single piece of news from Sui Yu in Yunzhou.

Yuwen Guan didn’t give the Sui Family even the slightest bit of information.

Each time Sui Wenzhan inquired, he received the same response, “Military secrecy, do not ask further.”

But today, Sui Wenzhan simply couldn’t bear it any longer.

His heart ablaze with anger, he was determined to ask for a clear explanation, no matter the cost.

However, Yuwen Guan only responded with a cold, mocking laugh, as if he were above it all.

It was the Ninth Princess who said smilingly, “Sui Family Master, I regret to inform you that Sui Yu has died in battle.”

His whole body trembling violently, Sui Wenzhan clenched his fists and asked, “What, what did you say?”

“Sui Yu mistakenly killed the Eldest Prince of Xia Country and was trapped inside Yanyun City in Yunzhou for many days.”

“He held out for a long time, but eventually, the grand army of Xia Country breached our Border Battle City in Yunzhou and stormed into Yanyun City.”

“Sui Yu…

also died in battle.”

Yan Ruyu’s tone was utterly emotionless, as if she were narrating something completely trivial.

Naturally, all this information had been conveyed from Yunzhou; in fact, it was reported to the Lord of Yunzhou by Fan Zhong and others.

Although no one had seen Sui Yu’s body, having killed the Eldest Prince of Xia Country, it was impossible for Sui Yu to still be alive.

Finally, Yuwen Guan spoke up, “Mourn his loss, Sui Family Master.”

Teeth clenched tightly, Sui Wenzhan looked up in desperation, “Why?

My son Yu was the one who hated Sikong Jing the most…”

Boom!

Before he could finish speaking, Yuwen Guan’s expression suddenly changed dramatically.

He threw a punch.

Sui Wenzhan immediately felt an immense pressure and raised his fist to block, but with a “whoosh,” he was sent flying, retreating dozens of steps before coming to a stop, blood pouring from his mouth.

The Sui Family Master, hailing from one of the mighty Five Great Families, couldn’t even withstand a single punch from Yuwen Guan.

Cold chills ran through Sui Wenzhan’s heart.

Then, Yuwen Guan pressed fiercely, “If I hear that name again, I will not only kill you but also exterminate your Sui Family.”

Sui Wenzhan trembled violently, but eventually managed to wipe the blood from his mouth and said, “I just want to know why?”

He wasn’t a fool; Sui Yu’s death was surely orchestrated by Yuwen Guan and Yan Ruyu.

Otherwise, the Sui Family would have been notified immediately when Sui Yu was trapped to death in Yanyun City, Yunzhou.

It wasn’t about any military secret, nor was it about letting Sui Yu linger until the Xia Country ended his life.

Sui Yu was one of those who despised Sikong Jing the most.

Why would they allow him to be sent to his death?

Sui Wenzhan, truly, couldn’t comprehend it.

At this moment, Yan Ruyu suddenly retorted with a cold sneer, “Because Sui Yu did not deserve to be the Princely Heir of your Sui Family; more importantly, his personality was not fit to be mentioned in the same breath as my Brother Guan!”

Sui Wenzhan looked up in astonishment.

What kind of reason was that?

“Among the Princely Heirs of the Five Great Families of the Great Shang Dynasty, who isn’t an outstanding figure?”

“Only your Sui Yu was a worthless dandy; his very existence was an insult to the reputation of my Brother Guan.”

Yan Ruyu said cheerfully, indicating to Sui Wenzhan that it wasn’t a big deal, as the Sui Family was ranked last among the Five Great Families.

At that moment, Yuwen Guan gestured with his hand, “Sui Wenzhan, your Sui Family has plenty of talents, pick another to be the Princely Heir.”

Sui Wenzhan’s fists clenched and then relaxed again as he spoke in a low voice, “So just because Sui Yu was too worthless, he deserved to die?”

“Yes, if he wasn’t worthless, wouldn’t he have been able to escape?”

Yan Ruyu blinked her beautiful eyes and said as if it were the most natural thing in the world, “As long as he escapes, I naturally won’t hold it against him, and I will acknowledge that he has not tarnished Brother Guan’s reputation.”

Upon hearing these words, Sui Wenzhan was left with nothing to do but to shake all over.

The princely heir was dead; what else could be done?

Resist?

Even the real Invincible God General, Sikong Jing, had been tortured to the brink of death.

What could his Sui Family use to oppose the entire Great Shang Dynasty?

“Cough cough…” Just then, a dry cough resounded.

In an instant, Sui Wenzhan’s whole body trembled wildly, looking incredulously toward the source of the sound.

He saw a handsome man with an evil smirk approaching—Who else could it be but his beloved son Sui Yu?

At the same time, Yuwen Guan and Yan Ruyu were also astonished, especially Yan Ruyu, whose smile completely vanished.

Was this creature alive or a ghost?

“Dad, so you were here.”

“I almost didn’t get to see you, son.

I nearly died in Yunzhou.”

As he spoke, Sui Yu suddenly burst into tears, frantically hugging Sui Wenzhan and burying his face in his shoulder, slobbering and sniveling.

However, the look in his eyes as he faced away from Yuwen Guan and Yan Ruyu flickered ceaselessly.

At that moment, he heaved a huge sigh of relief.

He had overheard the conversation between the two and his father; he knew he had not been exposed, so he had revealed himself.

After some time, Sui Wenzhan finally asked, “My son, how did you survive?”

Suddenly, Sui Yu broke away from his father’s embrace, wiped his nose fiercely, and flung the snot in the direction of the Prince Mansion.

“That was just too incredible.

I must have the luck of the gods.”

“The ones besieging me turned out to be Xia Country’s Princess Die Lian.

I seized the opportunity to take her hostage, then ran into the Dark Dragon Mountain Range.

But damn it…

Xia Country’s millions of troops chased me for five days and nights.”

“I thought for sure I was a goner.

But Xia’s army was too relentless in their pursuit and actually triggered a Beast Tide in the Dark Dragon Mountain Range.”

“It was hilariously ridiculous; that’s how I managed to escape back here.”

“Oh, and the Beast Tide wiped out two million of Xia’s troops—really freaking thrilling.”

At this, Sui Yu suddenly said with glee, “Yuwen Divine General, Brother Yuwen, Ninth Princess, shouldn’t this great achievement be credited to me?

Shouldn’t I be given a proper General’s rank to hold?”

Opening and closing their mouths, Yuwen Guan and Yan Ruyu looked at each other.

They, of course, also received the reports from Yunzhou—that the Border Battle City had been breached and Xia’s troops had entered the Dark Dragon Mountain for an unknown reason.

Now they knew it was Sui Yu’s doing.

“Or, you could completely hand over the Jin Sect to me,” added Sui Yu excitedly, seeing that the two hadn’t responded.

With the corners of his mouth twitching incessantly, Yuwen Guan finally replied, “Go back and wait for news.”

To this, Sui Yu showed an unsatisfied expression.

But still a bit afraid of Yuwen Guan, he nodded and reluctantly added, “You’d better promote me.”

After saying that, he left, reluctantly dragging his father away.

Watching the Sui family father and son depart, Yan Ruyu spat out hatefully, “Trash, useless trash, I really want to slap him dead.”

“Your Highness, there’s no need to bother over such trash; killing him would be as easy as snapping your fingers,” replied Yuwen Guan with a shake of his head, not taking the braggart Sui Yu seriously at all.

Feeling better, Yan Ruyu playfully chided, “Brother Guan, I’ve told you to call me Ruyu in private.”

With a hearty laugh, Yuwen Guan embraced Yan Ruyu in his arms…

Back home, Sui Yu immediately sent someone as fast as possible to convey a message to Sikong Jing in the Dark Dragon Mountain Range.

Having waited in the Dark Dragon Mountain for four days, Sikong Jing, upon receiving the news, had a flash of cold light in his eyes: “Just because they think Sui Yu is not worthy to be named alongside Yuwen Guan, they want to kill him—what a malicious pair.”
