As A Maid, I Can Fix Her!

Chapter 92: Chapter 91 - A Little Story About Past

I enjoyed my lunch break by eating ”medical snacks” made by Doctor Julia. Most of them were pills filled with various fruit flavors. Some were refreshing, like orange; some were sweet, like pear; and some were refreshing, like watermelon.

All of them were round pills and were created by Doctor Julia herself. The medicinal plants and fruits she had brought were nearly gone. The wooden tray she had brought to help carry the main ingredients lay abandoned on her desk.

The hot afternoon felt like it was burning my shoulders. They were bare, without long sleeves, and only covered by a bandage wrapped around my neck to shoulders.

Gruusshh...

Gruusshh...

”By the way... how about that storybook I drew before? Did your little sister like it?” I asked, while eating the pills like a cookie.

Since they didn’t taste too bad in my mouth and contained a variety of flavors, I treated the pills with disrespect as the bitter medicine ”as prescribed by the doctor.” Even Doctor Julia glanced at me with a heavy sigh of resignation at my behavior.

”That picture book? She loves it. It’s pretty hard to find someone who can copy your drawing, Liliana. So I bought some magic paper that can copy the entire sheets and make the book a little more fancy for her birthday.”

”No one can copy my draw, huh?” I replied with a proud smile.

”It’s a shame there aren’t any. Some of the people I asked could only draw a woman’s beauty on canvas. Not on paper with ink that spreads easily.”

”Hahaha... Well, that’s not my problems.”

For some reason, it made me wonder about the medical education that Doctor Julia had undergone.

Without a picture book of human anatomy, she wouldn’t be mistaken in identify the heart and lungs on human body, right?

It’s a bit scary when a mistake like that happens.

”It would be a shame if my hand drawing only ended in your little sister’s hands.”

”Just leave it to her; most of it is in my handwriting anyway, not yours drawing,” replied Doctor Julia as she finished her last pill craft.

Gruusshh...

Gruussshh...

Chhoommpp!!

”Cough!! W-What the...”

The pill flew into my mouth, exploding with a slightly more bitter taste than before. It made my face contort with pent-up anger.

”Pfffttt... you even have the same facial expression as the other kids.”

”Those were real pills. The previous ones were just a little scam to get kids like you to get used eating pills.”

Doctor Julia chuckled as her hand stroked my head.

”I can still stand this bitter taste. It’s much better than enduring a blow from our esteemed Duchess,” I replied, holding back the bitter taste that lingered on my tongue.

”Fufu~ Anyone would think the same as you, Liliana.”

Caress...

Caress...

Doctor Julia, who had previously been joking darkly with me and throwing around sarcasm, now became softer and calmer. Like the flips of a coin, she was much friendlier after her serious work mode ended.

Maybe, that’s what makes her difficult to approach when she’s in work mode.

”There were no casualties besides me, right?” I asked to make sure Master Reina and Master Amagi were okay.

”So far... you’ve suffered the most, Liliana.”

”Ugh, it feels like watching the Duchess show favoritism to her own children.”

”Oh, no, you should be proud to be trained by our esteemed Duchess without limiting your strength or being pampered with leniency during the training. Take what’s happening right now, for example... Young Miss Reina and Young Miss Amagi still haven’t finished their morning run. They keep getting trapped in the same spot failure, and the Head Maid has to carry them back to the starting point as punishment.”

”E-Eehh?? T-They went back to the starting point after getting trapped in the same place over and over again?” I couldn’t hide my astonishment.

Master Reina and Master Amagi aren’t that stupid, are they?

Why do they fall into the same place over and over again?

It was so unreasonable... and I slowly approached the window in this room, letting go of Doctor Julia’s hand that was busy stroking my head.

Right in front of me, a terrifying sight unfolded. The morning running path I’d been on earlier had turned into a battlefield filled with large holes in the ground.

Doctor Julia’s office is on the left, past the running path that surrounds the Main Mansion of Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld.

”They can’t get through this morning run challenge filled with deadly traps?” I asked Doctor Julia doubtfully.

”Yes, since morning they are still trapped in the same trap. The trap where the Head Maid threw rubber knives at them.”

”A-A rubber knife? But the Head Maid threw a real knife at me!” I said, sounding like I was denying her words.

”R-Really? I didn’t know you’d gone through such horrible training. If I’d known, I might have made some painkillers mixed with sweet drinks.”

Doctor Julia slowly closer to me and stroked my head, again and again, like it was her duty to do at this point.

Caress...

Caress...

From a distance, I saw Master Reina and Master Amagi taking a break under the gazebo in the maid garden. Their faces looked exhausted, but they still acted strangely calm in front of the monster who had trained them so harshly.

”They seem fine after the defeat...”

”Can they really be angry at someone much stronger than them?”

”That’s... true. I’m not confident I can defeat Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld in one try either. I’ve already lost twice; there’s no improvement other than a battered face.”

”Hmm? According to our esteemed Duchess. You are developing quite well, Liliana.”

I could only glance at Doctor Julia with a cynical look.

”Haahh... P-Pretty well, huh?”

”It feels the same... nothing has changed for me.”

I muttered in a low tone, so low that Doctor Julia, who was in front of me, didn’t hear it and was busy stroking my head.

”Did you say something, Liliana?” asked Doctor Julia as she tugged on one side of my hair, tucking it over my ear.

”N-No... I didn’t say anything.”

”Really? You look like you’re thinking about something complicated with such a calm face. I can understand that after getting to know you better.”

”I-I just feel like this intensive training will be a waste of time for me.”

”Why do you think your training will be in vain, Liliana?”

”...” I paused for a moment to think about the answer.

My previous answer was just a random one, without thinking about the implications, and I was trying to keep the casual conversation flowing longer. But it actually led me into a serious conversation with Doctor Julia.

”I feel like this intensive training will be a waste of time for me. Is there a maid who is required to have the ability to detect danger—”

”Yes,” answered Doctor Julia before my question could finish.

My deepest mind, which had fallen over my reverie, now looking for Doctor Julia’s attention. She looked like a caring, mature woman. She looked at me with gentle eyes and stroked my cheek, with her serious calm expression.

”I know a woman who is stubborn and only wants to serve a master who is much stronger than her.”

”What a strange taste, isn’t it? Considering that’s was a maid who just started working at a military noble’s residence.”

”Saying she only wanted to serve someone far stronger... was like throwing a challenge to her future masters. That arrogance wasn’t just empty talk; she was truly strong, to the point that all her future masters fell one by one, leaving behind a young, weak-looking girl.”

”But what happened, Liliana?”

”The arrogant maid was defeated by her future master in three moves. What’s even crazier, the maid was defeated by a quill!”

”JUST WITH A FUCKING QUILL?!”

”Imagine that, LILIANA!!”

I feel like I’ve heard this before.

”W-With a quill? N-Not with a pencil in a nightclub?”

”What are you talking about, Liliana? Please don’t add anything unimportant to our important conversation.”

”S-Sorry...” I hurriedly apologized after interrupting the important conversation.

”Uhh? Where was our talk before? I forgot.”

”Uh, by defeated with a single quill.”

”Oohh... yes, now I remember. THAT MAID LOST TO A FUCKING QUILL, LILIANA!”

Doctor Julia looked so excited when she said it.

”WITH A FUCKING... QUILL, LILIANA!!” She shouted again with dramatic emphasis.

Yes, I’ve heard this story before. Especially with the references to it, which somehow made their way into the world of this novel.

Oh, my past self, what did you eat?

Why are you so bold as to write such cringe stuff?

I want to bury my body somewhere to hide this shame.

”I-Is that so? W-Who is that maid anyway?” I asked to dampen Doctor Julia’s feverish enthusiasm.

”Oh, our Head Maid...”

The unexpected answer left me momentarily speechless. My thoughts drifted to the Head Maid who had committed such a daring act in the past. I could understand her reasons and motivations for doing so.

However... it doesn’t make sense.

”Liliana? Are you okay?”

”Your face looked shocked when I said who the crazy Head Maid was who did that.”

Syyuuuttt...

Syyuuuttt...

Doctor Julia tugged at my cheek. Trying to get my attention, who was shocked after learning the identity of that crazy maid.

If there is a saying that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, then there is a saying that a maid’s attitude is not much different from the master she serves.

Yup, now that makes sense...

”I’m not surprised anymore if that’s true story...” I muttered while taking a deep breath and looking at Doctor Julia.

”Putting aside the Head Maid’s past story...”

”What are you doing in this position?” I asked Doctor Julia, who was stroking my cheek and slowly get closer to me.

Too much closer until I see her cleavage.

Doctor Julia just smiled without answering, as if she was teasing me.
