As A Maid, I Can Fix Her!

Chapter 77: Chapter 76 - Holy Fertilizer «Floravita»

One of the pleasures I can feel as an apprentice maid is getting enough sleep and relaxing time at night.

Like this time...

After dinner with my mother and savoring every drop of chicken soup, I leaned against the open bedroom window, enjoying every gust of the night breeze. I picked up some glowing sunflower seeds, that I somehow managed to harvest it without problem.

I don’t know the mechanism of this sunflower’s light, but I understand that some plants and animals have bioluminescence. Producing light through chemical processes in the body is generally harmless.

So, I can assume that these glowing sunflower seeds are not poisonous or harmful to the human body.

My mother was asleep in bed, exhausted after her workday extended into dinner. The sudden overtime came after Master Reina’s pleas for mashed potatoes for dinner, which somehow got settled with a little sweet violence from her beloved mother.

Oh, not violence...

I have to correct that wrong thing.

The truth is...

A sweet punch... from the warmth of a mother, who educates her daughter in a strict and dignified manner.

I don’t need to know what happened in the Duke’s kitchen and dining room, but it definitely ended with a sweet violence over a warm dinner.

Chicken soup with thick broth is a delicious meal; it would be a shame if Master Reina refused such a delicious dinner for a mere smashed potatoes.

Swoosshh...

Swoooshhhh...

While enjoying the gentle evening breeze, I reached for my magic notebook, its blank page still intact on third page. The first page contained my magical hypothesis regarding the diverse and shapeshifting imagination of Fireball magic. It was written in detail using first-person perspective.

Yes, in other words...

This is a magic book from my perspective as a magic caster.

All the failures, successes, and doubts I experienced as a magic caster will be listed in this amateur magic book.

No need to write something complicated and convoluted. Just use everyday language that is not standard and formal, like ordinary people communicating with each other.

Fllaapp...

Fllaapp...

”You seem to be thinking about something interesting.”

”Oh? Not thinking... but writing something interesting for me to know.”

From behind me, a dimly glowing holy magic book floated into view. It kept a safe distance from the glowing sunflower.

And for some reason, she trembled slightly as she stared at glowing sunflower.

Even though they didn’t have eyes to see each other, I can feel the hard tension.

”Why is the holy magic book so curious about that other magic... that you already consider it... disgusting?” I replied in a low voice so as not to wake my mother.

Swwiisshh...

Swwiiisshh...

As if responding to my ambiguous words, several glowing sunflowers aimed their sunflower seeds at the holy magic book, preparing to fire off the seeds, which exploded like firecrackers.

”I-I already apologized for that!” the holy magic book replied as it approached fearfully.

If she was that scared... why did she come closer?

”I-I’ve been improving my understanding of other magic, you know!”

”O-Other magic isn’t that disgusting... Ah! I mean, it’s not disgusting when you get to know them better.”

The holy magic book almost repeated the same mistake a second time.

However, it was successfully covered up with a reasonable excuse; consider it a direct clarification to the glowing sunflower.

”S-Surree... this sunflower decides whether to forgive you or not.”

I still receive the glowing sunflower seeds that the sunflowers give me for free.

The magical plant, which was supposed to serve as a light at night, suddenly became a source of my limited mana. I’d read about the effects of this magical plant, one of which was that it increased the mana capacity of those who ate its sunflower seeds.

It would be very effective to do it from childhood...

Uh, that one, somehow coincidentally with me possessing Liliana, when she still an innocent child.

At the age of seven, already consuming glowing sunflower seeds to increase mana.

Then... how big will Liliana’s mana capacity be in the future?

I don’t know.

After all, Liliana’s character doesn’t even exist in the alternate universe storyline of this novel.

Whether she’s still alive in the future or disappeared after the Villainess girls met a figure who saved them from their terrible fate, at the very least, I have to prepare for the worst possible outcome for my future self.

”I’m really sorry about that...”

”With sincere humility, I apologize...”

”Please accept my apology...”

The tone of the holy magic book changed to become more polite towards the glowing sunflower in front of me.

While I was receiving the tribute of sunflower seeds, the holy magic book tried to get an apology from the sunflower.

It’s a little strange to see, but their little dispute needs to be resolved.

”How about you give this sunflower something as an apology?” I said, mediating their situation.

”Think of it as an effort to forgive each other and try to understand each other?” I continued, while still pulling one of the sunflowers seeds into the bedroom window.

”As a plant that needs care. There are some things you want from the holy magic book, right?”

”Like a holy magic that fertilizes the land with abundant food for plant.”

What I’m saying is a type of nature holy magic, generally used to fertilize land polluted by the sin of murder. Often used by one of the Heroines who worship the Great Goddess.

”You have a thing or two of holy magic related to soil fertility, right?”

That’s the least I can do as a third party to mend their relationship. Seeing the sunflower plant so enthusiastically harm the holy magic book, anyone would think the world was nearing its end with such hatred.

Fllaapp...

Fllaapp...

Clliinngg!!

Clliinngg!!

The holy magic book hovering beside me immediately unfolded its pages. White light shone from the holy paper and the golden ink glowed, revealing a holy spell related to holy fertilizer. It was created from the faith and devotion of a follower of the Great Goddess.

I don’t mind the praise and respect for the Great Goddess; it’s just that...

The holy magic text is too long to pronounce!

How do I recite three lines of holy spell in one breath?

Ugh, this is really a hassle...

”This holy magic is suitable for all plants. But it can only be cast by a holy maiden who is faithful and devoted. What a pity... You are not a holy maiden who can cast this holy magic spell.”

Ckuutt...

Ckuutt...

My head felt heavy from the taunts.

The veins in my head hardened with pent-up anger.

This holy magic book is indeed innocent, sometimes too innocent to the point of being like a stupid magic book that doesn’t understand the situation around her.

Swiipp...

Swiipp...

The glowing sunflower seeds I was harvesting suddenly stiffened, preparing to attack the holy magic book with a burst of sunflower seeds.

”I know... I know... I can’t stand hitting her anymore either.”

”That’s one of the personalities of the innocent holy magic book...”

”Don’t be too angry with her...”

”Let’s hit her, when we have the chance...”

I tried to calm myself and the already-angry glowing sunflower. The rage verses from this holy magic book were no joke. Besides my patience wearing thin as a tissue while talking to it, the sunflower nearly exploded all its sunflower seeds.

Giving physical punishment to the holy magic book would be pointless, because she couldn’t feel pain or sorrow.

Hmm... but, there is one way I can do to punish her.

And, that would be one step closer to being a servant of heresy.

Yup, what can I do else?

Let’s slap this holy book of magic with some harsh reality.

”Huufttt...” I took a deep breath and read the holy magic spell, skipping the part of praising the Great Goddess and directly reciting the core of the holy spell.

”Floravita...” With those soft words, without faith and devotion, I chanted the holy spell.

Cliinngg!!

Blaassttt!!

Supposedly, holy magic cannot be cast without faith or belief in the Great Goddess in the world of this novel.

However, I can cast holy magic spells that flow like a river in my imagination.

This spell I cast is the purest water of life, a drop that once fed the Elven race’s Tree of Life. A drop of water that can become holy fertilizer and restore fertility to the land after the sin of murder has been poured upon it.

Clliinngg!!

Clliinngg!!

White light flashed in front of my eyes, blinding my vision again, and turned into a drop of golden light.

”I-IMPOSSIBLEEE!!”

”THAT IS NOT MAGIC THAT CAN BE CHANNLED BY AN ORDINARY HUMAN!”

The holy book of magic closed its cover, its yellow eyes bulged, and its scream echoed in my room.

Boonkk!!

I hit her out of reflex.

”Shut up!”

Ctttaassshh!!

Bllaaarrr!!

The sunflower did the same, shooting sunflower seeds at high speed, which exploded around the eyes of the holy magic book. The small explosion nearly woke my mother from her sleep, but she was still safe enough to fall back into a deep sleep.

Pluuukk!!

The holy magic book fell to the floor. After being hit by my hand, it was also hit by the sunflower seed explosion. With such an annoying, innocent personality, it’s no wonder Marchioness Shinano VII Lichtberg turned it into a forbidden magic book.

Even a forbidden magic book with a human skin cover is much better than a innocent, and annoying magic book.

She’s caused trouble countless times, and I’m quite surprised how long my tissue-thin patience has lasted in the face of her.

Peeesshh...

The drops of holy water that turned into holy fertilizer dripped onto the ground, hitting the roots of the sunflower, which now shone brightly as if they had acquired holy attributes.

Clliinngg!!

These yellow and brightly glowing sunflower petals turned into golden yellow sunflowers. There was a holy aura surrounding it, and it was enough to slap the holy magic book with harsh reality.

”Without faith... I can cast holy magic.”

”Hahaha! Easy peasy...” I said while glancing at the holy magic book on the floor.
