As A Maid, I Can Fix Her!

Chapter 53: Chapter 52 - Old Sister? Me? No Way!

Paattt...

Paattt...

Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s gentle hand caressed every strand of my hair. There was no elegance I could display as a apprentice maid. Only my pure innocence on her lap.

The angry Master Reina and the calm Master Amagi became the backdrop to the strange atmosphere that accompanied my awkwardness on Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s lap.

The Duchess tugged at my hair, as if discovering yet another problem among the many problem that had befallen me. Some of them were problems of her own making. I didn’t blame her; it was just a reality. Something that couldn’t be avoided.

”Your hair is too stiff, Liliana. You used the shampoo in the maid’s bathroom, didn’t you?” Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld asked, leaving me speechless, bemoaning the question I hadn’t expected.

”I use shampoo well, Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld. Maybe it’s because I’m too busy and sweat quickly... The shampoo effect quickly fades,” I replied with a fairly obvious reason.

”Maid work is indeed hard, especially with the apprentice maids who need to get used to the duties in this Mansion. Besides cleaning with the other maids. What have you been doing, Liliana?”

Paatt...

Paatt...

While I was being asked about the maid training activities I had done, Duchess’s left hand continued to stroke my hair, and her right hand remained busy eating the mashed potatoes in front of her.

I had left a few spoonfuls of mashed potatoes in another wooden bowl and some fries in a iron strainer, still dripping the hot oil. There were some suspicions act of the night maids, who want to stealing the fries, but I would check it later to make sure, after this midnight dinner service ended.

”There’s nothing major I’ve learned so far, Duchess. Most of my duties are cleaning the Mansion garden to make sure the main path is clear of fallen leaves, washing dishes after breakfast, hanging out the other maids’ laundry, and accompanying Master Reina to do something,” I answered in as natural a tone as possible.

Memories of Liliana’s daily life as an apprentice maid flooded my mind.

What Liliana had experienced felt like a lifelong experience. I didn’t throw it and chose to embrace it for the sake of Master Reina’s bright future.

”Fufu~ Hard workers deserves additional rewards. You like the reward of pampering with your owner, Liliana?”

For some reason, that gentle question made Master Reina look at her mother with the expression, ”Just you wait! I will have Liliana completely.”

I hope that’s not what happens.

Conflicts between parents and their children often end in tragedy. Stories like these is common in my old world... A story about noble romances, where someone want kills the families for the Noble titles, too much popular plots story.

To be honest, I don’t think it’s a bad story.

If only the noble romance could end well, why not do it?

Oh, that should be a slap at me for writing the tragic story of Master Reina to advance the main character’s love path and meet the heroines.

”I love this reward, my esteemed Duchess.”

”If there is another reward you give, it will make my little heart feel uncomfortable and want to repay it immediately.”

”The reward of sitting on your lap and enjoying your gentle caresses is more than enough for me.”

More than this, I don’t know about my fate in the future.

Master Reina’s gaze grew sharper, piercing my body with discomfort. It was as if I were feeling guilty without even realizing what I’d done.

Paatt...

”There’s no need to be so polite to me, Liliana. Just think of me as your second mother. I would also like to have an obedient second daughter rather than a stubborn one,” said the Duchess while glancing at Master Reina.

The sharp sarcasm made the fine hairs on the nape of my neck stand up.

It wasn’t a normal teasing between a mother and daughter, because it was more than comparing her child to another child.

”That’s a great idea, Mama! If Liliana were to become part of our family, I’d be a great older sister to her!” Master Reina said with pride radiating from her face.

Kirraa...

Kirraa...

The feeling of pride was accompanied by a beautiful sparkle in her eyes, thinking it would really happen.

”Sadly... big nope. Liliana still has a mother,” the Duchess continued, bringing a wooden spoon filled with mashed potatoes to my mouth.

”But being a younger sister doesn’t have to be a problem for us, right?” Master Reina asked, tilting her head and looking my face.

My facial expression was blank, listening intently to their questions and answers, unconcerned with what would happen next.

The wooden spoon held by Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld spun around in front of my mouth, trying to force its way into my tightly closed mouth.

”...” I watched Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s left hand move as it pulled my lower lip open, inserting a wooden spoon filled with mashed potatoes into my mouth.

”Hump!!” I groaned softly as I felt the force-feeding from Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld.

The flavor of the mashed potatoes, soft on the inside and crispy on the edges, filled my mouth. It was delicious, with a nostalgic feeling of food from my old life. This simple dish was satisfying in this little mouth.

”Yup, right. Being a younger sister isn’t a problem. But I doubt Reina will be a good older sister. Last time, I see you... dragged your still-awake little brother to breakfast, didn’t you?” the Duchess replied with another hint of sarcasm.

”Urk!! That... that one can’t be helped, Mama! If I don’t drag his feet. My lazy little brother won’t get out of bed!” Master Reina shouted in a loud voice, as if to hide her embarrassing behavior from the two guests in front of her.

”That’s what makes me doubt you became a good older sister... you should follow Liliana’s manners to be a good older sister.”

”Eh? Why Liliana?” Master Reina asked in surprise.

Her soft red eyes stared at me, forgetting her anger that had just exploded at the innocent question.

”Because my Liliana is the best older sister ever. You want to be able to hug Liliana with the feeling of being pampered as a little sister, right?”

”Also, Liliana can pamper you as a good older sister, even though her position is a maid who is always close to you.”

For some reason, I could sense a strange smile from Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld as she brainwashed Master Reina with sweet talks. The brainwashing was going smoothly because I was acting as Master Reina’s older sister under the pretext of ”pampering” her.

Noomm...

Noomm...

The Duchess didn’t give me a chance to speak. Every time my mouth was empty after swallowing mashed potatoes, she immediately shoved fresh ones into my mouth, indirectly silencing me.

The mashed potatoes I baked were delicious, but I felt like I was being used as a dumping ground for the leftovers of the now-full Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld.

The Duchess had eaten a few spoonfuls of mashed potatoes, but she fed me with a passion that kept her portion size in check.

Is she on a diet?

Is there really a term diet in this novel world?

With these thoughts in mind, I glanced at Master Amagi and Marchioness Shinano VII Lichtberg before me. They had finished their second dinner and were enjoying salty fries for dessert. Their eyes were closed with smiles of undeniable pleasure.

Even nobles who have never had salty fries before will undoubtedly eat them with proper table manners. They use wooden forks to stab the fries and eat them elegantly.

”But I’m going to be the older sister!” Master Reina shouted beside me.

”No, Liliana is going to be the older sister. Don’t you want to run and hug Liliana and call her big sister in public?”

”Ugh, that’s tempting. But I’ll always be her older sister!” Master Reina replied stubbornly.

”If that’s what you want, then it’s up to you. I’ll ask Young Miss Amagi.”

Master Amagi, who was enjoying salty fries, almost choked for the second time.

”Huh? M-Me?” Master Amagi asked as she took a bite of fries from a wooden fork.

”Yes, my dear Young Miss Amagi... if you and Liliana have a sibling relationship, who is more fitting to be an older sister?” the Duchess asked, causing the Marchioness to sigh heavily.

Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg didn’t comment much on this, she busy savoring the sensation of the salty fries, fried until crispy and dry. The crunchiness filled her mouth, and she occasionally glanced at me with a small protest about the missing additional sauce.

In this novel’s world, there are countless ways to make sauces and mayonnaise, perfect for dipping fries. However, the opportunities for making them are limited, and the ingredients are difficult to obtain.

Hmm, wait a minute...

Hard to obtained?

I don’t think it’s that hard; I’ve never even seen the outside other than the courtyard of this luxurious Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld Mansion.

”Liliana is more suitable as an older sister because I will continue to stick hug her as a good younger sister,” Master Amagi replied with a sincere smile on her face.

”Good answer, Amagi! You agree with me... The current Reina isn’t fit to be an older sister, right?”

”U-Ummm... Yes.” With a shy nod of her head, I could see Master Amagi was forced to answer.

The Duchess, whom Liliana knew as a kind noblewoman, it turns out, had underhanded tactics to educate her child by forcing her child to accept other people’s opinions, she could force Master Reina to admit that she was not fit to be an older sister.

A harsh reality was that Master Reina needed to improve her politeness and manners as a dignified noble girl.

Such moral education was indeed cruel, but effective in educating Master Reina.
