As A Maid, I Can Fix Her!

Chapter 60: Chapter 59 - First Training

Tap...

Tap...

I running at a slow pace, following the small streets of Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s Main Mansion. The first stage of today’s training was building a foundation of stamina. Running is an effective way to increase stamina gradually, and the effects will be noticeable with consistent practice.

There are no bad threats regarding running practice this morning.

The problem is... I have to run under the pressure of Master Reina and Master Amagi, who are always stuck to my right and left.

Running in this position naturally caught the attention of the butler and maids on duty, who were preparing for their morning activities. Several maids, sweeping the front yard of fallen flower petals, offered encouragement. We hadn’t even completed a single lap around the Main Mansion, and we were already exhausted.

I’m not really tired, it’s just...

My mind was exhausted by all this.

Especially with Master Amagi’s gentle gaze, hidden to my right, plotting something. Master Reina was also plotting something suspicious, and it was obvious from the satisfied smile on her face.

This morning’s run isn’t over yet, but these two Villainess girls already have other plans. If only they could use that energy to train more seriously, I wouldn’t be able to stand this embarrassment.

Halfway through the lap, we passed the back of the mansion and saw three people lying on the ground. Shovels embedded in the ground seemed to mark their still-living bodies. Their faces were battered, as if they had been in a heavy fight during the night, and a foul stench permeated the air.

”Ugh, it stinks. They’re so dirty,” Master Reina snorted in annoyance and quickened her pace to pass through the back of the Mansion.

”...” Master Amagi didn’t say anything; her expression remained calm, and her running footsteps matched mine.

If only they both knew, I might have gotten a loving kick from Master Reina. That cheap, foul-smelling ointment is a biological weapon. It can even cause three people in the act of defecating to fight until their faces are battered.

What a vicious manipulation tactic.

What kind of evil person would do such a heinous thing?

Oh, right, that’s me...

We passed through the back of the Mansion and through a side courtyard filled with flower gardens, opposite Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s library, which I had entered to accompany Master Amagi.

At a glance, I could see Master Amagi’s longing to read a book in the library.

”Please restrain yourself, Master Amagi.”

”We just ran a lap and must listened to a long lecture from the Duchess about how weak our bodies are...”

”After that, we’ll get an extra portion of training to suffer through.”

”Ah! I meant to practice better. Then you have a free time to reading.”

There’s no point in appeasing Master Amagi, who want to read books in peace. She’s destined to become a genius witch and a friend to Master Reina, who’s always playing pranks with her magic. That will happen in the future, after this training is over.

The problem I’m facing right now is getting these two Villainess girls to train seriously and preventing them from falling into the main storyline.

At least, I’m relieved about this novel world as alternate storyline. The only threat they face is being trapped in the Villainess route.

It could be avoided easily, as long as they both didn’t do anything strange.

Tap...

Tap...

Far ahead of me, Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld and Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg awaited our arrival, running at a slow pace. Master Reina and Master Amagi looked exhausted, sweat beading on their foreheads. Their faces glistened as the newly risen sun shone on them.

With the clean towels that had been prepared, they wiped their foreheads and drank the water in a hurry.

Gluupp...

Gluupp...

I exhaled heavily, feeling the warmth of my body, which had been running at a slow pace. There was no excessive sweat on my forehead. Only the fatigue that Liliana was holding back.

”Liliana worked hard until her body adapted to this fatigue, huh?”

”Much better than an old body lying weak in a hospital bed.”

”I hope Liliana doesn’t have any hip pain after her teenage years are over.”

With such a mutter, I approached the Duchess, who had brought a wooden sword.

”Oh? You’re not as exhausted as they are, Liliana?” the Duchess asked, throwing a wooden sword at me.

”Honestly, I’m exhausted.”

More precisely, I was mentally exhausted after running with shame.

”You don’t look tired. That’s good, now practice using the wooden sword and defending against my attacks.”

I was confused by those words.

”D-Defending an attack?” I muttered with a faint smile, and the memory in my head whirled rapidly, seeing the ferocity of the Duchess playing with her own daughter with a wooden sword.

”I’m not sure that’s the right way to practice—”

Baassshh!!

Before I could finish my sentence, the Duchess drew the wooden sword from her hip. She swung it to the side and sliced through the air at the speed of sound.

I couldn’t see that speed; my eyes turned white after the shockwave reached my ears.

”The focus of today’s training is to survive and test your basic skills so I can determine the appropriate training.”

In short, I will be beaten to death and train hard following the guidelines that have been prepared.

The classic method that is always used by the main character’s trainer in the novel.

”Isn’t there a better way, like swinging a wooden sword a hundred times a day?” I asked the Duchess.

”Oh, you want that kind of lowly training, Liliana?”

”Uhhh... I’m not sure either.”

”You’re not even sure, so let’s do what we can!” the Duchess said, pointing her wooden sword at me.

I responded to the threat with a defensive stance, pulling my arms closer and moving freely to protect my body.

”How cute, Liliana.”

The Duchess approached me with swift steps, swinging her wooden sword at me. I’d seen that powerful blow before. It would send me flying backward, just as it had with Master Reina.

My footing deliberately weakened, allowing the Duchess’s wooden sword attack to hit me.

Paanngg!!

The seemingly ordinary wooden swords clashed, creating a loud explosion like metal striking metal. My hand, holding the wooden sword, felt heavy, and my body was pushed back.

Now I understand what Master Reina must have felt in that honorable duel.

The Duchess’s wooden sword attack wasn’t just a random amateur attack. It contained a hidden technique that could be acquired through practice and receiving powerful attacks.

I’m not the main character in the world of this novel, however...

I feel like I can do something...

Something I can do right now...

Without moving my body to avoid Duchess’s attack, my body was thrown back, still in a standing position.

Srruuuttt...

My feet felt the friction of the maid’s shoes. I stepped back and stopped at the entrance steps of the Main Mansion.

The training is different from the main character in this novel world; for some reason, it triggers my instinct to grind desperately to level up.

Although it’s hard to admit, I’m a huge RPG fan and a leveling maniac who can sit for long periods of time. Much like writing a novel, I enjoy the grind and the satisfying results.

Krrraakk...

My ears heard the sound of the door opening.

”It seems the training has started,” said someone in a deep voice. I glanced at the source of the voice and saw the Duke coming out with a cup of tea in his hand.

As if not noticing the Duke coming out of the main door, the Duchess attacked me again with a vertical slash, making contact with the perpendicular wooden sword and sending me flying into the air.

The staircase leading to the main entrance of the Mansion was clearly visible as I was thrown into the air, making me think quickly to twist my body to avoid the Duke.

Time seemed to slow down as I was thrown into the air.

”Ah, never mind, the important thing is that it doesn’t hurt when I fall,” I muttered while enjoying the sensation of floating in the air.

Krraaakkk...

The Duke opened the door wider and made me fall on the edge of the door. The maid uniform I was wearing got caught on the edge of the door and made me stuck on top of the door.

Truly a perfect sword attack technique from the Rose Sword Goddess.

I couldn’t even speak after being caught on the door, but luckily my maid underwear was securely in place. Otherwise... it would have been embarrassing for Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld to see.

”Haaaahhh... good morning, Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld,” I said to the Duke who was stuck above the door.

”Did you even have time to say hello after getting stuck at the entrance?”

”Shouldn’t I pay any attention to a Duke?” I replied, swinging on the door, resigned to my situation.

”It should be, so I can leave quickly and ignore you. Now I have to worry about saving you, who is stuck on the door.”

”Uh, sorry...”

In this position, I should have apologized and scolded the inconsiderate Duke.

Now I understand where Master Reina’s wild attitude and behavior stem from. While the Duchess is responsible for her rigorous training, the Duke is also partly responsible for her ignorance.

Even the Duke still had time to think about running away and ignored the little girl who was stuck on the door.

The saying that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree is true...

Claaaangg...

The wooden sword I was holding fell, almost hitting the Duke’s head in retaliation for his attempt to ignore me.

”Tch! Failed!” I chuckled in a low voice and put on an innocent child’s expression.

”I thought I heard something earlier,” said the Duke.
