As A Maid, I Can Fix Her!

Chapter 90: Chapter 89 - Pain Over Pain

Puukkk...

Puukkk...

Brushing off the dust clinging on my maid uniform, a sense of despair filled me. My mana capacity was vast, but it was useless with my slow mana regeneration.

Deep inside me, my remaining mana was the size of a glass water in an Olympic swimming pool.

And not enough to cast a stable Fireball spell.

But that was a perfect opportunity to test unstable magic spells. Master Amagi’s Fire Lance explosion demonstrated that unstable magic spells... could become a deadly weapons.

On the other hand, I still had the folded paper containing the magic runes. A single touch of my finger, triggering a surge of mana, it would activate the magic spell.

Long story short, this is an intensive training aimed at testing how long I can survive Master Amagi’s magical attacks and Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s physical attacks.

It’s a bit unfair with the numbers: one amateur against two people who are already professionals in fighting.

Oh, that’s wrong; I need to correct it.

Two amateurs who happen to be enemies, and one professional with championship trophies on display in her private room. Two against one is already a tough fight, let alone a professional fighter join the fun.

My hands wiped my face, which was covered in dust and grass clippings, and I accidentally took a sip of the dew that remained on the grass.

”You can continue this intensive training, right, Liliana?”

”Please entertain me; I’m bored waiting for my beloved daughter to wake up.”

”I won’t stop until I see your counterattack attempt!”

Boossshhh!!

Swwwooosshh!!

The Duchess ran to close the distance between us. My mind was split between two parts, trying to guess the direction of the Duchess’s attack and sensing Master Amagi’s magical attack.

My danger-detection abilities were heightened after experiencing the intense heat of the Fire Lance’s blast. It didn’t burn me, but the burning sensation lingered on my body, like a sunburn without sunscreen.

Duchess’s punches and kicks were well-controlled. Her breast followed the rhythm of her body swaying in front of me. As her right hand came toward me, her left breast appeared higher than her right, giving me crucial information.

The speed of her punches may not be visible to the naked eye, but her swaying breast provides information about the direction of her attack. Without that information, I would have to rely solely on my instincts and danger detection.

”Fireball...” I casting a basic spell that doesn’t require much mana, summoned a ball of unstable heat with the last of my mana.

The less mana I have and the more I force it to cast magic, the more it forms a spark of fireball that floats in the air.

Swwooossshh!!

Plllaaassshhh!!

Poomm!!

The unstable sparks of the fireball failed to form the Fireball spell. The instability burst like a bursting balloon, scattering sparks to obscure Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s vision.

Her fist came together with Master Amagi’s Fire Lance, heading towards me at the same speed.

If I heard correctly, Master Amagi’s intensive training involves rapid-fire magic incantations. That would certainly help her in a fast-paced combat situation like this.

Unfortunately, I found several weaknesses in her fast chanting.

Besides her unstable magic, she lacked proper coordination with Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld. That’s why I was able to redirect her Fire Lance to attack behind Duchess.

With the Duchess’s eyes obscured by the sparks that failed to become a fireball, I positioned my body parallel to the Duchess.

Burst of panic filled Master Amagi’s face as her Fire Lance shot towards the Duchess.

”Watch out!!” Master Amagi shouted.

In an instant, I could see the future regarding the Duchess, who was hit by the Fire Lance magic attack.

Booossshhh!!

Booossshhh!!

Suddenly, a cluster of rose petals gathered behind the Duchess’s body as if forming a hard defensive wall.

”R-Really? How am I supposed to fight this terrifying Final Boss?” I muttered with a faint smile, forgetting to dodge at the right moment.

Cttiingg!!

Cttiinngg!!

My danger-sensing abilities continued to struggle as I saw the Duchess’s fist heading toward my face. My body stiffened, like a herbivore being stared down by a carnivorous predator. No matter how far I ran, I couldn’t escape its clutches.

My legs felt heavy with fear in front of me, pushing my heart to beat faster to pump blood to my brain, and adrenaline rushing in my body, increased panic to escape.

Swwooonnggg!!

The terrifying vibration of the sound passed over my face. It almost hit me.

Swooossshh!!

After the fist swept past me, the small wind that split beside me created a vacuum and exploded along with the Fire Lance that hit the wall of rose petals.

BLLAAAARRR!!

”Wuuuaaahh!! That’s was cheating!!” I shouted as I covered my maid uniform skirt that had risen while floating in the air.

”How can I avoid that terrifying attack other than being hit by the wind!”

”Oh, my dear Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld... PLEASE CONTROL YOUR POWERS DURING THIS INTENSIVE TRAINING!” I shouted as I floated in the air, occasionally letting out the pent-up emotions I was feeling before I plummeted to the ground.

Oh! That’s right!

This is a great opportunity to use the folded paper containing magic runes!

With my remaining mana nearly depleted, it was enough to unleash an unstable and fuzzy magic spell.

Uh, I’m not sure I can escape from Duchess’s physical attacks and Master Amagi’s magic attacks though...

But, at least I tried hard, and losing wasn’t too bad as long as the opponent was them.

Cttingngg!!

Cttinnggg!!

My danger detection abilities are back in action.

Too active as I floated in the air after being hit by the wind from Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s swift blow.

Tiny fire dots gathered around Master Amagi, forming six fireballs that spun rapidly before being shot towards me.

Boossshh!!

Boossshhh!!

”Eh? Eehhh??!! That’s so cheating, Master Amagi!”

”At least, wait until I fall to the ground!”

Panicking, I reached into my maid uniform’s skirt pocket and pulled out a folded piece of paper containing the rune magic formations I’d created the night before. Six fireballs shot towards me, a sneak attack as I was flung through the air.

Ignoring the crease in the paper, I activated the magic rune and felt the surge of mana within my body, draining my mana cup even further.

The dizziness caused by this lack of mana was increasing.

Swwooossshh!!

Clliiinnggg!!

Baaassshhh!!

The various magic runes I had prepared were scattered in the air in unstable forms, due to the insufficient amount of mana.

The unstable Fireball magic blast managed to repel Master Amagi’s Fireball attack, destroying the six fireballs that were released in succession towards me.

Pllaapp...

Pllaappp...

On the other hand, the magic runes that were supposed to summon quicksand and disrupt the enemy’s movements turned into puddles of water on the grassy ground.

”Hahaha...” I chuckled after seeing the pathetic failure of my magic rune.

It was so miserable that I forgot to land safely and fell on the rocky front yard of the Main Mansion.

Buuggghh...

”Ohhhhookk!!”

Buumm!!

”Aaahhh!! My head!!”

Boopppmm...

”Ugh, my back is safe... but my shoulder isn’t.”

There was no superhero landing this time, just a pure fall from a great height. I quickly stood up and accidentally saw the old butler being dragged out by several night maids from the side of the Main Mansion.

Srreeesshh...

Srrreessshh...

”...” I was silent for a moment, forgetting the pain all over my shoulder and looking at the old Butler’s face, which had a palm print on his cheek.

It could be said...

I know what happened to that old Butler named Sebastian.

His cheeks were receiving attention and ”affection” from the maids who saw him lying in the hallway of the maids’ quarters. Thinking of him as a perverted old man who was peeping and fell asleep...

It was quite reasonable...

Buugghh!!

Without a word, the night maids immediately threw the old butler’s body down. The slow speed and low altitude of the fall made me envious, as he hadn’t experienced the pain I had experienced before.

”Tch!” I clicked my tongue as the pain in my shoulder spread.

Ignoring the perverted old man lying in front of Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s Main Mansion, I immediately returned to the garden that was the site of intensive training.

Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld and Master Amagi were waiting for me; they looked in amazement at the old butler whom the night maids threw away.

The Head Maid, the main culprit of all this, closed her eyelids tightly.

”W-What happened, Liliana?”

”W-Why was Sebastian dragged out and thrown away like rotting trash?” the Duchess asked in a normal tone, but her hands remained clenched and ready to attack me again.

I raised my hands in surrender.

”I-I don’t know... and I give up on this two-on-one fight.”

”There’s no mana left...”

”My whole body aches...”

Cttiiinnnggg!!

Boossshhh!!

Before I could properly surrender, Duchess’s fist was aimed at my face.

There was no chance to avoid it, and my face accepted it willingly.

Buuggghhh!!

The pain from my dislocated shoulder now spread to my face, having received a heavy blow from a woman who had won consecutive sword tournaments in her youth.

The pain wasn’t felt much, because my face had been numbed by the swift blow to the point that my sensory nerves were too late to respond.

Time seemed to slow down as the pain spread.

My consciousness were trapped in a slow-moving time zone, the dazzling sunlight filling my eyes until they were white.

White and in pain...

That’s what I was feeling at the moment before my body was hit by something I didn’t know.

I had expected this; just one blow would have left me helpless.

Actually... What is this intensive training for?

I didn’t even feel any benefit other than being a living target-practice dummy... and getting hurt.
