As A Maid, I Can Fix Her!

Chapter 67: Chapter 66 - Taking A Nap Together

Sitting on the reading sofa and holding Master Amagi in my arms, I felt something that couldn’t be described in words.

Master Amagi’s calm demeanor left me confused about how to deal with her. Even after I held Master Amagi in my arms, my mind wandered, almost forgetting the problem before me.

”Liliana? You look lost in thought?”

”Still tired after using up all your mana this morning?” Master Amagi asked, turning to me.

Her long, silky hair fell in front of my face. It was so soft and I could smell the sweet scent of her shampoo. I snapped back out of my awkward reverie.

”Yeah, a little tired after using up a large amount of mana,” I replied with a faint smile to show I was fine.

”It will be a problem if you don’t concentrate when helping me, Liliana.”

”I-It’s okay, Master Amagi. I’m indeed exhausted, but I can still think straight to helping Master Amagi, who is having trouble understanding the complicated vocabulary in this magic book,” I replied while pointing to one of the lines of the paragraph with the same main sentence.

A sentence with an ordinary core word, but using language that is full of other meanings.

[ Never cast a spell that you cannot afford to pay for with your own mana. ]

[ Never owe mana to someone you don’t trust. ]

[ Never stop being aware of something that feels impossible with short-range results, especially the trick of using magic without mana. ]

The words may seem ordinary to adults who understand the true meaning, but to a young girl like Master Amagi, they are words with a variety of meanings.

The scribbles on the three paragraphs formed a perfect circle, indicating that Master Amagi was truly confused about understanding it, and she wrote it down on a piece of paper so she could ask someone else. Just to get a right answer.

Tap...

Tap...

Throwing away all the thoughts that were disturbing my concentration, my fingers tapped the pages of the magic book with small pieces of paper on them.

”Let me guess... Master Amagi is confused by these words, right?” I asked as I pulled Master Amagi’s body closer to sit on my lap.

Blusshh...

”Y-Yes, I’m confused by those complicated words,” said Master Amagi as she positioned herself comfortably on my lap.

From behind her slender body, I could see her cheeks flushed red and her hand tightly squeezing my arm. Her small hand was torn between holding the magic book and my arm, which wrapped around her stomach.

I didn’t hug her tightly; it was enough to keep Master Amagi from falling.

”Let’s read those complicated words...” I said in a tone that wasn’t too loud because my mouth was close to Master Amagi’s ear.

”U-Un!! L-Let’s read these complicated words I found!”

We read three paragraphs filled with complicated words. Master Amagi looked down, confused, as if she couldn’t understand them. My old-lady instincts kicked in as I tried to calm a troubled little girl with care.

”Never cast a spell you can’t afford with your own mana...”

”Aren’t those funny words, Master Amagi?”

”Using the word pay as if our mana were the currency used to cast a magic spell. If we think about it, that’s true, isn’t it?”

”I experienced this recently. In my pride in a delayed magic spell, I almost paid for it with something I didn’t have. The result... I felt sleepy and fainted like someone who was exhausted without sleep.”

”To put it simply, this is advice for a mage who understands their mana capacity when casting magic. Like me, who was so careless when I cast a large Fireball spell and fainted, hahaha!!” I chuckled as I explained this part.

It’s not that I’m joking or entertaining Master Amagi, who is looking down.

But that is a personal experience that I can share with Master Amagi.

Hearing other people’s stories of failure will make them even more motivated to try harder, right?

Master Amagi shook her head, her pastel purple eyes staring at me seriously, and her left hand squeezed my left arm.

”It wasn’t a reckless act. You were proving something that was considered impossible at the time. Even my mother said that delayed magic casting had been researched and ended in failure. But you proved... that it could be done, Liliana!”

The calm look in her eyes made the atmosphere of jokes and laughter turn serious.

I didn’t trigger anything that would make Master Amagi feel offended, right?

”That might be true,” I said, admitting it and racking my brains to teach Master Amagi about the crux of the matter at hand.

”I paid for mana with a magic spell I shouldn’t have bought,” I continued, pushing my forehead to touch Master Amagi’s.

Caress...

Caress...

With gentle words, I continued my explanation.

”It’s just like buying something sold at a market. If we don’t have silver or bronze coins that match the price of the item, we won’t be able to buy it. Magic spells are the same; maybe some of them work... but do you have any spare change that can be used to buy something else?”

”And I think that’s a closer explanation to the actual situation.”

”Leaving some mana to use to cast other spells. That’s a basic principle for magic users, right?”

Nod...

Nod...

Master Amagi nodded her head rapidly, as if understanding my rambling explanation. While I’m embarrassed to admit it, I’m no expert at teaching. My explanations seemed matter-of-fact and used real-life examples.

It can be said that I share my experiences with others without feeling embarrassed.

”That’s understandable. Essentially, a magic user should understand the limits of mana and the limits of the magic they can cast, right?” Master Amagi asked, tilting her head to caress my forehead.

Caress...

Caress...

Our foreheads touched, the sweat on my forehead wetting Master Amagi’s.

In this quiet library room, I felt the touch of a noble girl who should not have this kind of intimacy.

I felt guilty because I enjoyed this touch too much.

”Your forehead is wet, Liliana...”

”The smell is also unique...”

”Can I use your sweat as my favorite perfume in front of Reina?” Master Amagi asked, causing my back to break out in a cold sweat.

Caress...

Caress...

I didn’t say the answer, as it would be too risky to please Master Amagi and cause a small argument with Master Reina. Without answering those words, I continued explaining another difficult word Master Amagi had encountered.

”Let’s continue the delayed discussion, Master Amagi...” I said while moving my forehead away from her.

”Eh, won’t you pamper me any longer, Liliana?” Master Amagi replied with a twinkle in her eyes.

Kirraa...

Kirraa...

Ugh, this sneaky trick again...

It was too effective for my kind and caring self.

”Spoil Master Amagi... in what way?” I asked in an uncertain tone.

”G-Gently caressing my forehead and feeling the cool, comfortable air to sleep with?” Master Amagi replied as she turned her body to lie on my chest.

Without seeing any room for rejection or a logical answer that I could give, Master Amagi took the opportunity to lay my body down on the reading sofa.

The cool leather of the sofa pressed against my back. The cold sweat I felt was now Master Amagi’s breath fanning my chest. Her neat bangs covered her forehead, and her eyes were closed, enjoying every movement of my chest as she inhaled.

My body was pressed against Master Amagi’s body, which was pushing me down; there was no room for me to move freely other than staying still under her body.

This is a dangerous position...

How do I explain it to others who have misunderstood?

”Master Amagi... this is too embarrassing, you know.”

”Won’t you take a nap with me, Liliana?”

”It’s not like that I refuse it. I’d love to, but this position feels uncomfortable.”

”It feels comfortable for me, though...”

This funny little argument was heard; there were a few small laughs that reached my ears, but it was covered by the sound of a thick magic book falling to the floor.

Buumpp...

The sound of a thick magic book falling echoed through the silent library. The soft laughter that reached my ears came from outside. The maids who had been cleaning the front of the library had now moved to the side library building.

While the other maids were working hard for their silver coin salaries, I was relaxing with Master Amagi, who wanted to take a nap.

I just woke up after fainting; now I have to accompany a noble girl who wants to take a nap?

Since when did the job of an apprentice maid become this relaxed?

There is something wrong with this world, but I will forgive it.

Slowly, I closed my eyes, hoping to fall asleep on this hot afternoon.

”I’m going to be in trouble,” I muttered as I enjoyed every gentle movement of my chest supporting Master Amagi’s body.

”Hehe~ I will take responsibility, Liliana,” Master Amagi replied without hesitation.

Thick magic books and scraps of paper containing Master Amagi’s personal notes fell to the floor, scattered like a wreck.

”What a bold answer, Master Amagi.”

”I hope you really keep your promise to be responsible.”

Before my eyes completely closed, I saw the shadow of Marchioness Shinano VII Lichtberg silently approaching me. Shadow magic covered her body and her index finger pressed to her lips.

I think, taking a nap with Master Amagi won’t be a problem.

Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg had heard and seen everything that happened in the library.

There’s no problem lazing around after a tough workout, right?

With that feeling of calm and comfort, I took a nap.
