As A Maid, I Can Fix Her!

Chapter 55: Chapter 54 - Mother And Daughter Favoritism

Glareee...

Glareee...

After getting permission ticket from Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld to leave the Mansion for shopping, my hand accidentally grabbed a warm fries with my fingers.

Choommmp...

Choommmp...

I bit into the crispy exterior and tasted the salty flavor of the secret seasoning, a flavor that seeped into each strand of fries. It was salty and had a crunchy texture, but it was enough to satisfy my longing for eating fries.

In the middle of the night, it’s the best time to eat fries and burgers.

Ugh, that unhealthy lifestyle... somehow I miss it.

Choommmp...

Choommmp...

My hands moved on their own, grabbing the warm fries, and my mouth savoring the salty sensation endlessly. Without any manners for table manners, and I became aware of everyone’s stares fixed on me.

Even the Duchess, who was holding me, who was sitting in her laps was dumbfounded.

”Liliana, why are you eating your fries with bare hands?”

The innocent question came from Master Amagi, sitting across from me with a look of astonishment.

If they all looked at me with that kind of gaze, it seemed to be against the politeness and table manners of the nobles.

”Ah, that’s because... it supposed to be eaten it this way in my hometown,” I replied as I took a few pieces of fries and enjoyed the explosion of salty flavor in my mouth.

”Hmm~ this is tastier than the ones I make in my hometown. I don’t know if it’s because the potatoes are in good quality or the spices have enhanced perfectly. It’s very different from the potatoes in my hometown.”

”If it’s like this... I want to make ketchup and hot sauce to dip the fries in to make them even more delicious! I’ll make it next time... if I get the chance when I’m hungry in the middle of the night again.”

I understand that my words are quite bold and disrespectful to Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld, as the supervisor of all the maids who work at Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s residence.

I can honestly say that this French fries dish is not perfect and needs an additional touch in the form of a ’dipping sauce’ for perfection.

”No wonder I felt something was missing...”

”It turns out there’s a secret sauce used to suppress this salty taste. My tongue, which is used to eating my husband’s cooking, already noticed the missing flavor.”

”Can you go shopping and buy the ingredients to complete this dish?”

Those gentle words came from Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg, as she seemed to savor the softness of the fries and feel the salty sensation. Her eyes were closed, allowing her to taste the food as it touched her tongue. As someone accustomed to her husband’s cooking, I could tell that Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg had tasted a wide variety of dishes made with a variety of spices.

It’s just like cooking for foodies.

It was a real hassle to live up to Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg’s expectations.

”Honestly, it depends on the ingredients I find,” I replied to lower Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg’s expectations.

I don’t want to make promises I can’t keep.

This novel’s world does have similarities to my previous life, but I can’t guarantee it’s 100% identical. Mashed potatoes and French fries can be cooked thanks to the same ingredients, but the magic stove and magic oven are different from my previous world.

There is no such magic, just modern equipment that is always evolving all the time.

I believe the vegetables and fruits are similar to those in my past life, but ingredients that require complex techniques, like shrimp paste and the fermentation food, rarely seem to exist in this novel’s world.

Or they easy to find... but I can’t find them.

If I think about it again, the time setting in the world of this novel is semi-modern and mixed with magical technology that developed rapidly after the main character entered the story.

”Too bad, that sounds like gambling on tomorrow’s groceries.”

”Yes, Like gambling. If I get lucky enough, I like to add cheese spread to the mashed potatoes and bake them until melted. If there is delicious dried meat, it will enhance the flavor of the mashed potatoes. Adding dried vegetables for a based flavor... it really is mashed potatoes of a mediocre quality. My apologies, Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg.”

In the midst of this serious conversation, I apologized to Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg. The mashed potatoes and fries I’d cooked were the result of my skill with the basic ingredients I had on hand.

”Mashed potatoes with melted cheese on top?” the Marchioness muttered with a tilt of her head while Master Amagi sounded surprised.

”C-Cheese? You mean that food that smells like rotting?” Master Amagi asked, a dark shadow covering her face.

With that kind of reaction, it seemed like there was a type of cheese in this novel world that had a strong smell. It was no wonder Master Amagi had that expression.

I just smiled a little, watching a confused mother and her daughter who was knowledgeable about food.

”Yes, that cheese, Master Amagi. It seems Master Amagi knows the cheese I mean.”

”I-I’m not sure that would be a good meal, Liliana.”

”It would be a delicious meal in the right hands. It’s a pity that these cheeses have been deemed unpalatable by Master Amagi. They will surely be sad when they hear about it,” using the same pattern as the Duchess, I educated Master Amagi not to be suspicious of rotten, pungent food.

Technically, cheese is a rotten food that is the result of fermentation.

Master Amagi was right to feel disgusted by the thought of eating it.

For those unfamiliar with real cheese, the putrid smell was unappetizing.

”I-I’ll eat cheese! I-If Liliana cooks and feeds me!” Master Amagi said with a wide smile.

There was a small tremor in her wide smile, but it was another form of fighting her fear.

”Ah! Liliana! That reminds me that you haven’t fed me yet—”

”Humph—”

Before Master Reina could finish speaking, my hand moved quickly to grab a piece of French fries and shove them into her mouth. The rapid hand movements continued until four pieces of French fries filled her mouth, leaving her too busy processing the salty flavor that exploded in her mouth.

”Hnngg!!” A cute scream from the salty taste that Master Reina felt was heard, but Master Reina immediately swallowed it without chewing first.

Gluupp...

”Liliana! Be gentler!” Master Reina protested as she reached for a glass of water.

I almost forgot my promise to feed Master Reina after cooking the fries.

Even though it’s too late, at least I didn’t break my promise.

”Does it feel good, Master Reina?” I asked with a gentle smile and looked at her expectantly.

Kirraa...

Kirraa...

Thanks to Liliana’s childlike body and cheerful expression, I looked at Master Reina with hope and praise.

A most beautiful talent after possessing the body of an little girl... is acting innocent.

”I-It’s delicious...”

”B-But be gentler, Liliana...”

”The salty taste... I can’t stand it,” said Master Reina with a blushing face.

Bluusshh...

I just smiled in relief at this.

Feeding Master Reina with my bare hands, forgetting the table manners of an elegant noble.

Are my hands clean?

Well, let’s put that one hygienic need aside.

My hand was already moving to feed Master Reina, who was tidying her front hair to the side.

Sluuurp...

With a gentle flick of her tongue, Master Reina took a mouthful of fries from my hand. She took them into her mouth with a soft moan, as she endured the warm fries sensation.

”Hmmn~ It tastes good and soft, Liliana,” said Master Reina after swallowing a piece of French fries.

”It’s still hot on my tongue and little bit salty, but I like the saltiness... especially the saltiness that lingers on Liliana’s fingers.”

Sluuurp...

My hand that was moving to feed Master Reina was suddenly stopped by Master Reina’s grip; she locked the movement of my hand so she could lick my fingers.

Sluuurp...

Sluuurp...

”Tastes salty... but I like this, Liliana.”

”Can I bite it?” Master Reina asked with a pleading smile.

I immediately shook my head and pulled my hand away from Master Reina’s grip, but it wasn’t strong enough to get away.

”Uhm, My fingers are not food, Master Reina.”

”Please don’t bite it...” I replied while still trying to escape from her grip.

Grreeppp...

Master Reina’s grip on my hand tightened, making me plead to Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld with a cute look in my eyes.

The Duchess took a deep breath and quickly pulled my hand away from Master Reina.

Swiiippp...

”What did you do to my favorite maid, Reina?” the Duchess said in a gentle tone.

”Huh? What do you mean by that, Mama? Liliana has become my favorite maid. Not yours!”

Glaarree...

Glaarree...

Well, I don’t know about the current situation.

My hand, which had been held by Master Reina, was now tightly held by Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld. The situation was the same as before, but with a change of position. Mother and daughter, who at odds with each other.

They are really similar to each other, not wanting to give in and wanting to have me.

Wait a moment...

Want to have me?

M-Me? An ordinary maid?

It’s impossible, right?

I must be hallucinating.

Greepp...

”Kuuhh...” I groaned in pain for a moment after feeling Master Reina’s grip trying to pull my hand back.

”Don’t be too biased with a maid, Mama. Don’t you feel embarrassed showing your favoritism to Liliana?”

”It doesn’t matter to me, because Liliana is still mine.”

The emotion that exploded in that moment could no longer be avoided; a mother who did not want to lose to her daughter immediately pulled my hand with all her strength until it was released from Master Reina’s grip.

Well, not that strong... my arm bones might break if Duchess uses all her strength.

Sluuurp...

With a graceful movement and imitating what Master Reina did... the Duchess licked my finger.

”H-Heh? Heeehh??” Of course, I couldn’t understand what I was seeing.
