As A Maid, I Can Fix Her!

Chapter 58: Chapter 57 - Morning Activity

”Ugghh...” I groaned in pain after waking up from my sleep.

The simple ceiling and the chill of the morning air pierced my body. My hands felt stiff from cleaning up a minor mess in the middle of the night. Besides cooking a late-night meal, I also had to clean up the dirty dishes and cooking utensils.

If I had known that the night maids could only mop the dirty floors, I would have run away after Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld and Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg had finished their business in the kitchen.

In a kitchen that big, I had to clean everything until the early hours of the morning.

My body still felt stiff and sleepy. Working hard in this less-than-optimal condition would tire me out quickly. I wanted to sleep a little bit longer, but I was carried into a bathroom filled with maids.

In the midst of this unbearable drowsiness, my face was rinsed with cold water, which jolted me awake.

”AAAHHH!!” I was shocked for a moment when I felt the cold water splashing on my face.

”You look sleepier than usual, Liliana? Didn’t sleep well last night?” my mother asked as she took off the nightgown I was wearing.

The memory of the middle of the night was a bit hazy; it made my head dizzy and tired.

What I remember is... the condition of my body, which was too tired and sleepy, returning to my room with unsteady steps, then falling asleep without wearing a blanket.

Ah, no wonder...

I feel so cold, right now...

The cold water this morning felt as piercing as the early morning air. My biggest mistake last night was sleeping without a blanket to counter it.

”Uh, I feel sleepy and want to sleep longer,” I replied while enduring the cold water that was pouring down on my body by my mother.

In this state of weakness and drowsiness, the cold morning water still wasn’t enough to wake me up. I needed something more than just the chill to wake my drowsy mind. My mouth even yawned amidst the cold, soapy water.

”You didn’t stay up late last night, did you?” my mother asked as she keep poured cold water over my hair.

Pyyuuurr...

Pyyuurr...

The cold water that splashed over my head nearly made me drift off into dreamland, but it was stopped when my mother’s hand touched my head, which had just healed from the bump. It was almost healed, just a small lump that would heal over time.

Ckuutt...

Ckkuutt...

”Hngg!!” I opened my eyes wide and held my mother’s hand, which was covered in liquid shampoo.

”It still hurts. Be gentle!” I asked in a loud and pleading tone.

My body’s instinct to avoid the pain of the lump on my head had become a powerful remedy for warding off drowsiness. Now, I was fully awake and looked around, bustling with activity. Some women were bathing normally, some were joking around by pinching certain areas, and some were bathing by skipping certain body parts.

The cold, which I had dismissed as a trivial matter, now began to seep into my bones, making me shiver. The slight shivers from my chilled body brought a wide smile to my mother’s face.

”Does it still hurt? Young Miss Reina must feel very guilty after hurting you, Liliana.”

”Changing your apprentice maid’s training schedule to accommodate hers. I can understand Young Miss Reina’s feelings of guilt.”

”From any perspective... a large salary is already a reasonable apology, hahaha!!”

While I was being shamefully bathed, I overheard my mother’s nonsense. Not my real mother, but Liliana’s biological mother. She spoke as if the salary for accompanying Master Reina and Master Amagi was a form of apology. The Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld family possessed sufficient wealth to settle the matter by throwing a bag of gold coins into my mouth to silence me.

And hiring an apprentice maid to undergo daily training alongside two noble girls would simply be a waste of time in their eyes.

Why they do something troublesome like that?

I’m not sure about this, but I feel there’s something troublesome... that’s equal to that big salary.

”Master Reina feels guilty and apologizes?”

”What kind of miracle are you talking about, Mom?” I replied as I felt the cold water splash against my back.

Pyyuurr...

Pyyuurr...

My hair was still wet, and my back was cold, as if I was being scolded by my own mother for speaking rudely to Master Reina. This mild reprimand forced me to press my lips together, enduring the pain of my mother’s hands rubbing my hair with shampoo, and the lump on my head felt every painful touch.

I felt like I was being punished with unbearable pain.

”Don’t say such bad things about Young Miss Reina.”

”It would be a miracle... if it really happened, Mom,” I argued in a small voice, holding back the pain from the lump.

Tsk tsk...

Tsk tsk...

My mother’s movements became increasingly rough. She was washing my hair with a rich, foaming liquid shampoo, but her hands were rubbing the unhealed lump.

A sensation of dizziness and chills filled my body, my body felt confused by this state. Several women bathing beside me laughed. They were young girls from the outskirts of the Belfast Kingdom, seeking their fortunes in the capital, working as maids in noble residences.

If the world of this novel were a romance story, they would be lucky enough to meet a male nobleman who would fall in love with them.

The world of this novel does have a love story, but that only applies to the main character, who is too lucky.

”There’s some truth to it, but think of it as a form of forgiveness for Young Miss Reina’s guilt for hurting your head.”

”Who would have thought that was a form of forgiveness? Why should I be the one forgiven? I’m the victim, you know...” I replied in a relaxed tone and groaned in pain after my mother’s finger pressed against the lump, right in the center.

Ckuutt...

Ckuutt...

”Gaaahh!! Don’t press that part too hard!” my little grumbled as I pulled my mother’s hand down.

A small chuckle escaped my mother; she was definitely doing this on purpose. Teasing her daughter while I was in pain, it seemed to have become a hobby for her.

”Hold on a little longer, you’ll get used to the pain soon!” my mother said, her fists clenched.

Ckrraakk...

The blood vessels in my head dilated rapidly after seeing that deliberate provocation; my hand immediately pulled my mother’s hand that was covered in liquid shampoo, and bit it.

Choompp!!

”AAAHHH!!” A loud echo came from my mother; it made the other maids who were taking a bath look at her and laugh.

They noticed my mother’s boundless mischief. With a lingering sense of annoyance on my face, I quickly grabbed the wooden ladle my mother was holding and finished my morning bath.

Besides washing my hair, I also cleaned my teeth and mouth with a mysterious liquid. It felt like using a hot, harsh liquid in my mouth, but it removed the food debris stuck in my teeth.

After making sure my body was clean, I immediately left the maid’s bathroom and headed to my room.

From a distance, I could see the Head Maid standing in front of my bedroom door. I had just emerged from the maid’s bathroom, wearing only a white towel. Her eyes immediately fixed on me, and she ran towards me.

”Hmm?”

With a swift movement, she pulled me by her hand and led me into the room. The door, which wasn’t fully closed, revealed my body, dressed in a maid uniform, at high speed. It wasn’t me who moved quickly, but the Head Maid, who removed my maid underwear and uniform with a new one. She lightly powdered my face, making me look like a baby who had just had a bath.

Those quick hand movements turned me into a perfect maid, ready for morning duty.

The sky was still dark with the sun barely rising, but I was already getting ready to leave with the Head Maid.

”Are you ready for your first training as an apprentice maid accompanying Young Miss Reina and Young Miss Amagi?” the Head Maid asked as she put on my socks and tied my shoes.

Wait... since when did the Head Maid move this fast?

I didn’t even notice it.

This speed beyond human comprehension- could it be that this is what earned her the position of Head Maid in this Mansion?

”Un—”

Choommmp!!

Before I could answer, something soft and warm suddenly filled my mouth. My full lips swallowed it, and my throat felt like it was stuck with food.

”That’s a temporary breakfast this morning; the real breakfast is after the morning running training is over!” said the Head Maid while pulling on the ribbon tie to tighten the collar of my maid uniform.

Srreettt...

For some reason, I feel that Master Reina and Master Amagi’s training will be very extreme.

”Now, let’s hurry to the front yard of the Mansion,” continued the Head Maid while pulling my hand and carrying it like a sack of wheat on her shoulders.

”Hmm??” I mumbled again after feeling this strange position.

”Let’s go!”

Before I understood what was happening...

Why is my body being lifted onto the Head Maid’s shoulders?

Why do we need to go to the front yard of the Mansion?

Why am I already dressed in a training maid uniform?

It all went unanswered, and the Head Maid sped forward, past my bedroom window, which had been wide open since last night.

Tap...

Tap...

The jolt from the Head Maid’s fast-running body pulled at my stomach muscles; my body shook from the pressure of the strong hand, and my eyes darted around.

The special room for the maids who served in the residence of Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld seemed to disappear, replaced by the luxurious wall carvings of the Main Mansion of Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld.

The clear sky still had a black color from the darkness of the night; the light of the rising sun slowly filled the sky.

And the bad feeling I had today said, ”A tiring day has come!”
