As A Maid, I Can Fix Her!

Chapter 54: Chapter 53 - Permission To Shopping

”It’s been decided that Liliana is the perfect older sister for Young Miss Amagi. Can’t you see the opportunity for Liliana’s pampering hands to caressing your hair, Reina?” said Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld with a mocking smile.

The two of them still hadn’t finished arguing about my position as the older or younger sister, which in the end didn’t matter because of my position still an apprentice maid.

The Duchess, famous for her beauty and cunning, turns out to be very scary when she brainwashes someone.

Oh, I think that’s too harsh to brainwash someone.

It would be more accurate to call it manipulating someone to move into a pre-planned scheme.

Whatever scheme Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld had planned, I found myself drawn into it.

I’ve already joined Master Reina and Master Amagi’s training schedule; all I can do at this point is accept the Duchess’s mastermind plan.

The fate of the common people in the world of this novel is really not far from the control of the nobles who move from behind the scenes.

”I told you, Mama... I BECOME THE OLDER SISTER!” Master Reina grumbled, still insisting on saying the same thing.

Noomm...

Noomm...

My mouth, always full of mashed potatoes, could only surrender and remain silent. The Duchess’s silence was becoming increasingly obvious. Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg saw this with her own eyes, but remained silent as if she didn’t care about what was happening before her eyes.

When things got this way, all I could do was enjoy a mouthful of mashed potatoes and sit quietly until the time was up. My previously starving stomach was now filled with mashed potatoes. Some of the mashed potatoes I had left for my second dinner suddenly became the night maids’ dinner. They took advantage of me being fed by the Duchess and treated the leftover mashed potatoes as part of their second dinner.

Oh, well, it’s alright...

I made dinner with whatever potatoes I had on hand and the main ingredient came from the Duke’s funds allocated to the kitchen maid.

In other words, it was a meal intended for everyone at Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s residence. There was no need to be upset.

”Don’t shout in the middle of the night, Reina. Look at Young Miss Amagi and Liliana, who remain calm while enjoying the food in their mouths.”

”Not as enthusiastic as you. Do you want to make Liliana feel sad because you didn’t taste her cooking well?”

The Duchess, with extraordinary calm, controlled Master Reina’s excited behavior in the middle of the night.

I, who was sitting quietly on the Duchess’s lap, understood that those were the domineering words of a mother. Trying to make her daughter feel guilty and calm down was a remarkable display of control by the Duchess.

”I-I know! Liliana’s cooking is delicious and really gets me excited in the middle of the night!” Master Reina replied in a louder tone than before.

This supposedly peaceful and quiet midnight had become incredibly noisy in the kitchen. If anyone were to witness this, they would surely be astonished by the scene.

”I told you to stay calm!”

Boonkk!!

A gentle blow from the Duchess’ left hand hit Master Reina’s head.

”Ahh!! Don’t hit me on the head so suddenly, Mama!”

”It’s your own fault for being restless. I can’t enjoy Liliana’s tenderness in peace!”

”It’s Mama’s own fault... Why didn’t you calm down while stroking Liliana’s hair?”

In the middle of the night, for some reason, I felt like crying with this suppressed feeling of shame.

It was truly embarrassing to be in a position where I was being spoiled by the Duchess’s as a reward.

”It’s your fault for always being so noisy, Reina!”

Boonkk!!

Another gentle blow landed on Master Reina’s head. There was no excessive violence in the blow, just a pure playful blow from a mother concerned for her beloved daughter. Compared to Liliana mother, who was stubborn, worked too hard to her own detriment, and had an uncontrollable ego, the Duchess was much kinder and seemed like a mother taking responsibility for her children’s future.

I’m not saying that Liliana mother is bad; it just doesn’t match the results of her hard work. The difference in education and mindset between commoners and nobles is stark. It almost makes me feel guilty for calling Liliana mother stupid.

I hate to admit it, but I’m stupid in some ways too. It’s undeniable that the mindset of the common people is more about ”will I be able to eat tomorrow?” than ”what will my daughter’s future be like?” for noble.

The more I thought about it, the more my heart ached with the uncertainty of my future as someone who wasn’t part of the main story or the side stories, and even my own fate was still unknown.

Liliana Edelrose, huh?

What kind of woman will you be in the future?

”My esteemed Duchess, please don’t hit Master Reina, who is so enthusiastically enjoying my cooking. It is an honor for me to be able to see Master Reina enjoy it to the fullest.”

It’s going to be a long and unknown future, and I must focus on my own goal. The noble goal of saving the Villainess girls from their terrible fate. A destiny I’ve written with my own two hands as the author and atonement for my guilt.

”Liliana, I have a piece of advice for you. Don’t spoil Reina too much as her older sister! She’ll only become more spoiled!” the Duchess chimed in, patting my head.

Paatt...

Paattt...

”I TOLD YOU... I’M THE ONE WHO BECAME THE OLDER SISTER, MAMA!”

”WHY DOES MAMA ALREADY THINK OF LILIANA AS MY OLDER SISTER?!!” the hilarious scream echoed in the kitchen, making several of the night maids who were enjoying their mashed potatoes and salty fries laugh.

I left the mashed potatoes and fries for myself, but they almost ate them all?

My fate in this world is really unlucky, isn’t it?

Lamenting my fate in this world doesn’t bring any chance of good luck, huh?

”Because it’s clear in my eyes, Reina. A good older sister who remains calm and dignified. Just like Liliana is doing right now.”

”Or would you rather be Young Miss Amagi’s younger sister?” Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld continued with her mischief smile, dragging Master Amagi into the older sister role.

Master Amagi’s expression, as she enjoyed the fries, changed to a wry smile, to teasing Master Reina. She greeted the opportunity before her with an elegant smile.

”I gladly accept the position, Your Honorable Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld,” Master Amagi replied with a charming smile under the light of the magic lantern that revealed her face.

”A-Amagi, don’t tell me... y-you think, you deserve to be my older sister?” Master Reina said in a heavy tone and a sharp glare in her eyes that was ready to attack.

”Yes, I won’t refuse it either, my sweet younger sister,” said Master Amagi with a burning smile on her face.

The sparks between Master Reina and Master Amagi’s gazes were clearly visible.

”Kukuku~ what a wonderful emotional split. I love this satisfying ending,” the Duchess murmured, audible to my ears.

Of all the possible schemes, Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld chose the path of utter chaos and rivalry. Master Reina and Master Amagi will indeed get along in the future as villains who stand in the way of the main character’s love for the heroines.

However, there is no need to force them to enter the Villainess way of life.

Like it or not, I had to clear up this misunderstanding and wait for the right moment to speak. The slightest slip-up could cause me to choke on the mashed potatoes that had entered my mouth.

Choommmp...

”Hmm?” While my mind was busy trying to find a way to calm down the heated situation between Master Amagi and Master Reina, my tongue suddenly felt the salty sensation of crispy salty fries.

Soft, dry fried potatoes with a salty sensation that pampers the tongue exploded in my mouth.

”Hmm~” I couldn’t help but mumble and savor every drop of the salty taste that remained in my mouth.

Not too salty, but delicious enough for a warm crunchy fries in the middle of the night.

”Enjoying your fries, Liliana?” the Duchess whispered.

”Uhm! This is so delicious. I didn’t even expect it to be this delicious.”

”Fufu~ You like this simple meal, huh? If I weren’t on a strict diet for the Royal family’s tea party, I might have enjoyed it wholeheartedly. A few small bites of the potatoes you cooked were enough to fulfilling my stomach. How dangerous the delicious cooking from your hands is, Liliana,” the Duchess whispered, gnawing at my ear with sweet praise.

”My Duchess, are you on a diet? Can I suggest some foods that are suitable for your strict diet?”

”No need, Liliana. Julia has already taken care of all that. There’s no need to do anything troublesome because... after the tea party, I will gladly eat Liliana’s cooking until it’s finished. May I expect your best cooking as a reward for my hard work as a Duchess, Liliana~” The gentle vibrations of that alluring voice almost made my body weak.

It was so soft that it made my body tremble with amusement, just like my first experience of hearing ASMR sounds that made me fall asleep soundly at night.

”I-I’ll try, as long as there are some ingredients I can buy myself.”

”Oh? Does that mean you’re asking permission to leave the Mansion?”

”My Duchess is too understanding... I’m embarrassed to admit it.”

”Fufu~ permission granted, Liliana. I’ll be looking forward to your cooking.”

For some reason, I suddenly got permission to go out of the Mansion to go shopping.
