As A Maid, I Can Fix Her!

Chapter 84: Chapter 83 - How To Pampering Daughter? Yeah... That’s Was Difficult!

Sitting on Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg’s lap, I recounted what had happened, including the magic book with four distinct personalities.

The Duchess once teased the Marchioness about her taste in torturing people. Giving a living magic book to a little girl who doesn’t understand a word in it has been considered the cruelest way of torturing little girls.

”Your methods never change, Shinano.”

”Your training that doesn’t teach Liliana anything will affect your own daughter’s development, you know...”

”You don’t want to see Amagi grow up to be a careless witch like you, do you?”

That teasing quip came from Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld. If only there were a mirror she could use to reflect on her own behavior, the Duchess certainly wouldn’t have said it.

They both follow the same training method. They don’t care about their daughter’s feelings and expect optimal training results. I felt the same way. The intensive training I underwent was an imposition of will and too brutal for a little girl.

Running before sunrise has become tough training for me, especially with the deadly traps on my running route.

Isn’t that the same as torturing a little girl?

They both need a mirror to understand their bad actions.

”Understanding magic is different from raining your body through strenuous sparring, Duchess.”

”The requirements for using magic are imagination and chanting. There is no better training than studying magic books and digging up information. The living magic book that I gave to Liliana is a treasure left by my ancestors in the past.”

”If Amagi can’t read the magic book left by her ancestors, it will be useless. That’s why I told her to read the magic book and understand its complicated grammar. Before read that living magic book.”

”A complicated task to carry out, but she managed to do it after meeting Liliana.”

”We’re not so stupid as to think Liliana doesn’t deserve to read the living magic book left by my ancestors, right?”

Ah, so the living magic book came from Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg’s ancestor.

But the ancestor of which noble family?

Her noble family before marriage or after marriage?

The use of honorific names based on the main family sometimes confuses me. Whether it’s the Marchioness or the Duchess, they both use feminine surnames. Marquess Shinano must have been embarrassed by his name, change to a feminine name.

Noble names, filled with honor, are indeed sacred. I hope in the future I don’t encounter annoying noble families who uphold the honor of their noble family names. Mispronunciation of noble names often ends in duels of honor.

It’s not that complicated to solve. It would just be annoying if every mispronunciation of a name ended in a duel of honor.

”The Liliana I’m proud of is no fool. Don’t compare my Liliana to an amateur mages who can’t distinguish complicated words from the nonsense jokes from your magic book, Shinano.”

”It can’t be denied that there are people like that, right?”

”That’s true. Sometimes, I keep my distance from such idiots. So, I rarely get the chance to see such an idiot in front of my eyes.”

”I envy your peaceful daily life, Duchess. I hope I can feel the same peace as you after returning from this vacation.”

”A renowned mage family is always busy with useless magic research, isn’t it?” the Duchess joked as she sipped her tea.

”Magical research will always be useful... If it is completed at the right time of crisis,” replied the Marchioness, who somehow sounded like she agreed with Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld about their useless magic research.

Caress...

Caress...

The Marchioness’s hand caressed my cheek. I felt her cool fingers in the morning and her gentle caress tugging at my cheek. She didn’t seem to realize that her hand was stretching my cheek.

Flaasshh!!

Flaasshh!!

The Head Maid took a picture of me sitting on the Marchioness’s lap. The photo that came out showed my cheek being played with by the Marchioness. It looked like a squishy doll being squeezed really hard.

”May I have Liliana to be my maid?” the Marchioness asked, causing the Duchess to smile faintly at her.

”Sure, but step over my corpse first.”

”You’ve been too lucky in your life, Duchess. Can’t you give me a piece of your luck?”

”That’s difficult. My luck knows no bounds. You’ll be in trouble with this much luck, Marchioness.”

”Even though I always praying at the Great Goddess church. Why is my luck so bad?”

”Well, that doesn’t mean it’s became a reason to take Liliana from me, right? Don’t worry, I can lend her as we speak before.”

They both casually spoke of other people as objects to be borrowed and returned. Worse yet, that person was me. Refuting their words would be useless. Because I’m just an apprentice maid with a wealth of talents to exploit.

”Putting aside all the current issues. Did you find anything I dislike about that living magic book, Liliana?” asked Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg as she released my cheek and accepted the photo paper from the Head Maid.

Before I could answer, a photo of me sitting on her lap, cheeks pulled, and a forced smile on my face appeared. It was all clearly visible on the photo paper. Including the photo of the Duchess kissing my neck.

Bluusshh...

Those embarrassing photos made my face turn bright red. This unbearable shame will last the rest of my life.

”You look beautiful on my lap, Liliana.”

”Amagi never smiles when she sits on my lap.”

Even though it was a forced smile.

Why is that considered a genuine smile?

”Uhm, with all due respect... you need to praise Master Amagi, who has studied magic books hard, esteemed Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg.”

”I had a chance to talk to her in my free time. She said... she wanted to be pampered by her mother, who patting her head after reading a complicated magic book. Sitting with her and talking to her, and I think that was enough to make Master Amagi smile.”

Wait a moment...

What am I saying?

Why does it sound like I’m lecturing a mother who doesn’t pamper her daughter properly?

I didn’t say anything rude to Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg, did I?

Swoosshh...

Swoosshh...

The cold morning air blew past me. The chill alerted me to the Head Maid’s blank stare and the Duchess’s cynical glare.

”Ara~ Ara~ What did I just hear?”

”Amagi complained to Liliana that her mother rarely spoiled her?”

”I didn’t think the relationship between mother and daughter would be this bad. And you were planning to get pregnant again, Shinano?”

The perfect mischievous question from the Duchess made my cheeks pull to the side by Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg.

Sqquueesshh...

Sqquueesshh...

”I-I’ll try to pamper Amagi after this...”

”C-Can you tell me more about that information, Liliana?” the Marchioness said in a trembling voice.

Without realizing it, my words made the greatest witch in the Kingdom of Belfast tremble at her small mistake. I said it for the sake of Master Amagi’s future, who want to be close to her beloved mother.

The future she faced wasn’t as cruel as Master Reina’s. She didn’t lose everything, only a demotion to her noble title and limited access to the Belfast Kingdom’s political system. The punishment for being a future Villainess wasn’t as severe as expulsion from the Belfast Royal Academy, banishment from the Kingdom of Belfast, or a public execution.

Before something untoward happens, and I’m trying to prevent it, it’s never too late to repair the mother-daughter relationship. There’s always room for improvement.

”Master Amagi once told me that she wished she could be taught directly by her mother.”

”Not with lessons on reading, memorizing, or understanding the contents of complicated magic books. She just wanted to see her mother teach her like a magic instructor in the Kingdom of Belfast.”

”I think Master Amagi is jealous of everyone who has ever been taught directly by the Marchioness.”

”Honestly, giving someone a magic book to read isn’t very effective to lectures.”

”I even always argue with the holy magic book about something. Oh! Speaking of living magic books and the things I hate when studying it. I don’t like holy magic books that always say other magic is disgusting!”

Sttaabb!!

Sttaabb!!

Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg held her chest, which felt sore from my words.

Yes, everyone will feel the same pain after hearing that statement.

Master Amagi’s complaints about wanting to be pampered were just a small act on my plan. I had no intention of deceiving Marchioness Shinano VII Lichtberg. As long as there’s a chance to make Master Amagi’s childhood a happy one, I’ll do my best to turn her into a good girl.

”What about Reina, Liliana?”

”Did she say anything related to me?” asked the Duchess confidently.

”...” I paused for a moment and caught my breath.

There was a long pause, and it made the Marchioness chuckle.

”Well, the answer is obvious. There’s no need to answer it, Liliana.”

”Shinano, I also don’t want to be a mother who is always angry to her beloved daughter. If only Reina could be controlled, it would make things easier for me.”

Fllaapp...

Fllaapp...

As she answered, the Duchess waved a photo of herself kissing my neck. My face was filled with panic and embarrassment, also it added to the atmosphere of the photo.

”Kukuku~ Reina is indeed difficult to control. But I always have many ways to make her obedient.”

”With this photo, I will educate Reina with the theme THE WORLD WILL ALWAYS BE UNFAIR TO HER!” said the Duchess in a high voice and handed the photo to the Head Maid.

”Make sure Reina sees this photo after waking up. I let her sleep a little longer for this purpose,” the Duchess instructed the Head Maid.

I had thought about this before.

The Duke family excels with their sword techniques...

Sometimes have uncontrollable emotions and always find a way to provoke others’ anger...

As for the quiet Marchioness family, they look like night flowers that silently kill with their pollen...

With two personalities that are opposite to each other, how can they be friends?
