As A Maid, I Can Fix Her!

Chapter 61: Chapter 60 - New Magic: Gravitia Break

I, who was stuck on the door, immediately got down thanks to the help of an old butler. He came out from inside the Main Mansion carrying something that looked like a doll.

We looked at each other before looking at Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld, who was leisurely sipping a cup of warm tea.

”Luckily, you came out at the right time. I almost got into trouble.”

”Those are mischievous words for a little girl, my esteemed lord.”

”Hahaha!! It’s okay, right? Liliana didn’t feel hurt and her great annoyance fell on my wife, who threw her hard into the air. Then getting stuck on the door, that’s already a normal thing in swordsmanship training. Much better than getting bruises and broken bones.”

”I’m sure the Duchess doesn’t subject the children to such harsh training.”

Right after those words, my body’s instincts, sensing danger, made me duck as a strong gust of wind blew past my head. If I hadn’t ducked, the powerful gust of wind from the thrown wooden sword would have hit me in the head.

Brraakk!!

The lump on my head was almost healed, and I didn’t want to feel the pain of the new wound that was filling my head.

Thanks to this good instinct I felt, I managed to avoid the Duchess’s surprise attack. She was already holding a new wooden sword, looking at me with a friendly smile, and approaching me.

”Woowww... you can avoid that surprise attack, Liliana?”

”A great talent for a sword user. Sensing an opponent’s attack from a distance and dodging it. Even Reina would have a hard time sensing it. Could it be a danger instinct you learned while fleeing the monster invasion in your hometown?” the Duchess asked, swinging her wrist that held the wooden sword.

Swwooosshh!!

That swift, powerful wooden-sword strike somehow felt like the movement of a monster that had once chased Liliana. I didn’t feel it, but Liliana’s body moved on its own when she felt it.

I just nodded my head and picked up the wooden sword that had fallen beside Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld.

”Duchess, you’re being too harsh on her on the first day. A little girl like her would be seriously injured by such a powerful attack,” said the old butler, holding a wooden sword in his hand.

”I won’t hold back on someone who managed to withstand my attack, Sebastian.”

”Huh? You’re saying this little girl can withstand my Mistress’s attack?” Sebastian asked, staring at me in astonishment.

”Yes, she also dodged the swift attack from the wooden sword throw. You saw it yourself, right? Liliana has a talent for wielding swords. Besides being able to cook... she can also wield a sword, Sebastian! A truly rare talent for a maid, right?!

For some reason, the Duchess seemed proud and introduced my talent to Sebastian.

The old butler standing beside me suddenly stared at me with a sharp gaze. My instincts screamed, and I sensed a sense of danger threatening my head. My legs, trembling with fear, immediately leaped backward.

Swaaamm!!

A horizontal slash of a wooden sword parallel to my head rang out, almost hitting me at point-blank range.

Liliana’s frightened body, somehow, had saved me twice.

Could it be that Liliana has a talent for running away from problems?

Two separate surprise attacks were successfully avoided due to Liliana’s fear. Her body was hypersensitive to danger signals.

I think that could be Liliana’s strength that she hasn’t realized all this time.

Well, even when I possessed her body... she was already suffering after being hit by a teacup and a kick from Master Reina.

The two incidents did not involve any threatening sharp weapons, or had Liliana’s body adapted to such threats?

Whatever happened, I was grateful that Liliana had silently helped me with her quick reflexes.

My backward leap nearly knocked me off balance.

The distance from the top step and the fall down, fortunately, did not end in silliness.

”See, right?”

”She can dodge your long, dull sword attacks. Wouldn’t it be a waste if I trained her with mediocre attacks?” the Duchess said in a ridiculous defense that gave me a headache.

There are still Master Reina and Master Amagi who are taking this training; why am I the only one who gets this kind of treatment?

Honestly, I want to protest against the interests of those who want to train me hard.

There’s no reason to refuse this training; after all, I enjoy grinding like crazy in RPGs. But not in this novel world!

It’s annoying...

And there no system that can see Liliana’s character growth!

There is only plot armor to survive this intense training!

Sluuurp...

Sluuurp...

My ears suddenly heard the sounds of people enjoying a cup of warm tea in the front courtyard of the Mansion. My eyes peeked out of the corner of my eye and were surprised to see the Head Maid pampering Master Reina and Master Amagi with a cup of warm tea.

”Haaaahhh...” The disappointment was clearly visible on my face. Even the Head Maid didn’t feel guilty about spoiling them both.

Our eyes met.

”The Duchess is having a good time with you. Keep her company for a while,” she said with a wink, not with sounds.

Twwiinnkk...

Twwiinnkk...

I want to cry my heart out.

How can I accompany the Duchess who is having fun?

I’m not going to die, am I?

My heart was pounding as I jumped down the stairs and avoided a surprise attack from the old butler. He was old, but his upright posture made him look like a military veteran.

I didn’t get sin when I attacked elderly man, right?

Considering I’m an old lady who died of age and disease... this could be considered a fight with peers, right?

”She is indeed interesting, Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld,” replied the old butler as he descended the steps and placed the object he was holding on the ground.

At first glance, it looks like a training dummy used as an attack target with a red dot in the center.

”Allow me to have some fun... I mean, train her.”

Uh, this is really bad.

Not only did the Duchess want to have fun with this sword training, but the old butler wanted to have fun too.

From a distance, he ran toward me, pointing the tip of his wooden sword at me. He shot forward without giving me time to dodge. Liliana’s body, feeling heavy, regained her defensive stance.

Paannggg!!

The thump of the hard wooden sword resounded, and the muscles in my hands tensed, shocked by the heavy blow that I couldn’t withstand with a body this weak.

Forced by the heavy attack, I adjusted the wooden sword to an unstable balance, lowered it to the ground, and kicked the old butler in the groin.

Baaammm!!

”UUUUHHH!!” The loud moan sounded both funny and painful, his face shocked by the counterattack from my freely moving legs.

If I can’t hold it in, sometimes giving in and retaliating is the right thing to do.

I wasn’t sure it would work, but the results said otherwise.

Absolutely works and hits the mark!

I love this successful surprise attack.

The Duke, seeing all this, held his crotch. His face looked pale as he placed a cup of warm tea on the edge of the steps.

It was a normal reaction for a man to see another man’s crotch get hit, a finishing attack technique that always managed to bring nightmares.

My hand, which was still tightly holding the wooden sword, immediately struck the old butler’s head with a powerful vertical strike.

Baaaamm!!

Prrraakk!!

With the last of my strength, I struck him so hard that the wooden sword broke in my grip. The broken wooden sword revealed two pieces of wood with a long piece of metal in the middle.

”Oh? No wonder it feels heavy and hard. There’s a long piece of iron inside,” I muttered as I threw the wooden sword aside and took the wooden sword from the old butler’s hand.

”Please rest in peace...” I said in a respectful tone, crouching down to close his eyelids, and leaving his mouth wide open.

I looked back at the Duchess and pointed the tip of the wooden sword at her.

A body this weak dared to challenge the consecutive champion of the sword tournament?

I must have gone crazy after experiencing this intensive training.

”Nice surprise attack technique, Liliana.”

”I’m so proud of you!” the Duchess said, smiling at me.

Her footsteps moved again, calmly approaching me, who had prepared myself in a defensive position.

”You didn’t attack me as you did to Sebastian?”

”I will definitely die if I do something that reckless.”

”Yeah, maybe... if I didn’t hold back from messing around with you.”

”Should I take it as a challenge?”

Attacking a sword user at close range depends on their combat experience and physical abilities. Liliana’s untrained body could only dodge. Attacking without tactics would result in defeat.

Is there any other factor that I can use to attack Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld?

”A magic attack, huh?” I muttered with a soft smile and prepared to attack the Duchess.

”That might work...”

”Even if it fails, just think that the theory of magic in this novel’s world is different from my writings in the past.”

While muttering in a low tone, I cast a magic spell that temporarily increased my body’s physical abilities.

”Gravitia Break...” With that simple magic chant, I saw the tip of my wooden sword engulfed by a transparent magic effect that descended onto my arm.

A physical ability that transforms the weight and mass of an object into a simple magic spell.

I ran towards the Duchess and fired a horizontal attack at her.

”Fufu~ what a cute attack, Liliana.”

Baaammm!!

BBAAAANNGGG!!

BLLLLAAARRRR!!

The moment our wooden swords touched, a powerful crack of air exploded from our swords. We were thrown in opposite directions, and I fell to the grass.

And rolling on it, before surrender.
