As A Maid, I Can Fix Her!

Chapter 75: Chapter 74 - Please Don’t Call Other Magic Disgusting

Ckuutt...

Ckuutt...

My head ached after being alone with this holy magic book. The innocence she radiated wasn’t the innocence of a holy woman, but the innocence of a foolish woman.

Just talking to her made me feel my intelligence diminishing.

The form of this holy book was indeed filled with a divinity that blinded my eyes. If only I were a holy maiden worshipping the Great Goddess in this novel’s world, this holy magic book would get an offer of the ultimate experience, a relaxed life filled with joy and honor as holy magic book.

It’s a shame this book met the author who created this world.

My eyes, which get burning from the blinding light of the cover, immediately lay it down on the dressing table and opened the first page.

Clinngg!!

Clliinngg!!

The blinding burst of white light struck again. This time, I prepared myself by closing my eyes. I felt the flash of white light flood my vision, dimming as my pupils adjusted. Slowly opening my eyelids, I saw a white light shining on the page and the golden letters glowing.

It is such a holiness that I cannot express it in words.

The holy magic book that could be a precious treasure in the church of the Great Goddess now lies on a simple dressing table and serves as a bedroom lamp.

I treated this magic book with courtesy, right?

I don’t want to get karma for the second time.

The first page I saw was a low-level wound-healing spell, intended for first aid, such as scratches from sharp objects or minor injuries such as falling from a tall tree.

The spell used is not too complicated; just say the word ”Heal” and pray silently to the Goddess to ask for healing the wound.

I’m not a nun in this novel world; is prayer to the Great Goddess necessary to cast this healing magic?

The key word of this holy magic spell is heal.

What I need to imagine is the closing of the wound with platelets in the first part, followed by fibrin to clot the wound, forming new tissue as wound repair using fibroblasts, and the rest is left to the white blood cells that fight germs to prevent infection.

Wait a minute...

That is a modern approach that has nothing to do with praying to the Great Goddess.

Is there any difference between sacred magic that relies on prayers to the Great Goddess and modern knowledge?

For some reason, it made me curious to do a test run and find out the final result.

”Hey, I want to ask something that’s been bothering me,” I said to the holy magic book that had been sitting silently on my dressing table.

Her innocent attitude suddenly became silent after the first page was opened.

”Do you want to ask something?” she replied, sounding unsure.

”Yes, there are some things that are bothering me. You are a holy magic book that records the holy magic of the holy people, right?”

”Y-Yes? I-I am indeed a holy magic book,” she replied in a tone that was unsure of herself.

”Then... can you explain why most of the contents are prayers and sentences that describe the figure of the Great Goddess? Aren’t you supposed to be a holy magic book that contains guidelines for the use of holy magic?”

My question came out not without reason.

From these three magic books with different personalities, I could understand their complex sentence structure with understandable core words. No matter how complex the vocabulary used by the previous mage, I could understand the intent of their magic.

However, for this annoying holy magic book.

The sentence structure they use is very complex, because most of it contains prayers and praise to the Great Goddess.

I mean, like this...

[ O Goddess, source of life and light that flows among all living things, I do not call this power as mine, but rather ask that Your will be pleased to touch this body and soul. ]

[ If this wound can be healed, let Your hand be the intercessor. If this pain can be eased, let Your love be the antidote. ]

[ With faith I ask, with humility I submit, and with hope I await Your will. ]

[ O Goddess, heal the broken, strengthen the weak, calm the restless,

and guide this life back to the light. ]

[ It is not my will that is final, but Your will... ]

[ I hereby declare... HEAL! ]

Of the many prayers I read in this holy magic book, I only read the final, important section. The praises of the Great Goddess were unimportant and seemed rather ordinary. Whether it is because I am not very religious or I am tired of theological life, I consider the praise to the Great Goddess as an expression of gratitude from the writers.

Judging by the neat and smooth writing, I’m sure it came from a holy woman from the past. The creator of this four-personality magic book remains a mystery, but it’s certainly helping me understand the various forms of magic in this novel world.

”I-I am a sacred guide that leads people to the magic of virtue?!” replied the holy magic book in a questionable tone.

”Yes... Yes... You are a holy magic book that serves as a guide to casting holy magic. Even without using prayers or invoking the glory of the Goddess, holy magic can still be cast, right?” I asked, taking the gist of her conclusion.

”N-No! You must have faith, belief, and humble to cast holy magic. Or the magic you cast will end up being just... Uh, disgusting, mediocre magic??”

”You have the nerve to say that? If any other mage heard it, you would become a holy magic book with a dark history.”

”D-Dark history?”

”Yes, like a holy magic book that suddenly disappears and is never found after blaspheming other magic as disgusting spell. Before you completely disappear, your entire piece of paper will be pulled out and cut into the smallest pieces. Crushed into pulp and dried as a container for cow dung—”

”HIIEEEEKK!! S-STOP IT! DON’T CONTINUE IT! SO SCARY!!”

”That might happen if you find other magic disgusting. Now, apologize to the other magic you find it... Uhm, disgusting!”

”I-I’M SORRY FOR CONSIDERING OTHER MAGIC DISGUSTING. PLEASE DON’T HIT ME!! OR BEATEN ME UNTIL BECAME A PAPER PULP AND BECAME A CONTAINER FOR COW DUNG!” said the magic book with all its might.

Seeing this holy magic book in panic, somehow it felt cute to tease her further.

Besides being innocent and stupid, I like her obedient personality to response her weakness.

”Good... Good... Then, don’t call other magic disgusting. You almost made a bunch of sunflowers that shine brightly at night into filth. How dare you call sunflowers disgusting magic.” While saying that, I glanced out the window of my room.

The night had risen above the sky, now facing two moons shining brightly, their light streaming into my room. The brightly shining sunflowers attracted nocturnal insects, which landed on their seeds before exploding, killing them.

Cttaasshh!!

Bllarrr!!

Cttaasshh!!

Bllaaarrr!!

I blinked my eyes a few times, making sure my eyesight was okay tonight.

”I-I don’t see anything wrong, right?” I asked the holy magic book.

”W-What are you looking at? I don’t see anything...” she replied, making me realize that her eyes were covered by the dressing table.

I immediately took the holy magic book and directed its eyes to the window of my room.

”That’s what I mean...”

”Oh! The sunflower I just called disgusting magic?” said the magic book without hesitation.

Cttaasshh!!

Bllaaarrr!!

Cttaasshh!!

Blaaarrr!!

Suddenly, several sunflower seeds exploded in front of the holy magic book’s eyes. This caused her to cry out a cute roar, to suppressed by the pain in her eyes.

”AAAHHH!! WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!!”

”WHY DO MY EYES HURT FROM SUNFLOWER SEEDS!”

”I DIDN’T EVEN DO ANYTHING!!”

The holy magic book’s screams of agony echoed through my room, loud enough that I could hear the occupant of the next room tapping on the wall.

Tookkk...

Tookkk...

”Shuuush... Don’t make any noise at night,” I said to the holy magic book, which for some reason had attracted the hatred of a group of sunflowers next to my bedroom window.

The sunflowers beside my bedroom window... somehow felt alive and responded to the words of the holy magic book, which considered them as a disgusting magic.

”I told you not to see other magic disgusting, right?”

”You reap what you say...”

”Now, feel the consequences...”

A few sunflower seeds landed in my room and exploded like small firecrackers. The explosion wasn’t very loud, but it was enough to cause the holy magic book to hurt its eyes.

”Okay, I think that’s enough punishment.” Right after I said that, the sunflower seed attacks stopped.

The plant magic I just learned has its own consciousness, huh?

It reminded me of one of the Elf heroines in this novel’s world who can talk to plants. Her personality is as calm as a magic book full of plant magic.

Whether it’s a coincidence or not, someone who can use plant magic is relatively calm in controlling their emotions.

”Please be more friendly with each other.”

”And as much as possible... don’t bother other people to fix your mess,” I said while looking at the sunflower seed shells scattered on the floor of my room.

I quickly got up from my chair and grabbed a broom to clean up the mess before my mother got back. If she saw the dirty floor, Liliana would get a sweet punishment.

Which mean... I, also get punishment, too.

With brisk footsteps and the moonlight streaming through the bedroom window, I clean the floor. I also cleaned the dresser table, which was dirty with torn paper after studying the magic runes.

”I-I’m really sorry. I didn’t know that your dignity as a magical plant was tarnished,” said the holy magic book to the magical flower beside my window.

It’s a bit odd to see a magic book apologizing to a bunch of plants, but that’s what’s happening right now.

At least, their problems were resolved with peace.
