Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Su Yan sat on the right-hand side of Lew Qingqing and Zhou Yun, leaning over with a curious face and asking, ”Did you guys know each other before?”

Lew Qingqing immediately answered, ”We met for the first time today. Did you know Xiao Yun before?”

”Of course, it’s also my first time meeting,” said Su Yan. ”But I was quite startled when I saw the trending search this morning.”

Zhou Yun said innocently, ”Those paparazzi are just making things up.”

”I recall you’re currently filming with Song Chi, aren’t you?” Lew Qingqing asked Su Yan back. ”You should know best, whether Zhou Yun is Song Chi’s girlfriend or not.”

At these words, Su Yan’s eyes flickered, and she laughed twice, saying, ”Although I’m filming in the same crew with him, how would such a matter be known to me.”

This sentence, seemingly harmless, was still quite vague. Lew Qingqing’s earlier remark was intended to prompt Su Yan to serve as a witness to clarify the rumor. However, Su Yan merely skirted the issue, implying that even if Song Chi and Zhou Yun were dating, she wouldn’t be privy to it.

Zhou Yun had no choice but to stress again, ”I don’t know Mr. Song Chi at all.”

Lew Qingqing patted the back of Zhou Yun’s hand and said, ”There, there, don’t worry. The fans are all very smart these days. They won’t be led by the nose by the paparazzi, no need to worry.”

Zhou Yun showed a grateful smile to Lew Qingqing.

Beside them, Su Yan took out a pair of sunglasses from her bag and put them on herself.

Seeing this while chatting with others, Chen Quanying directly asked, ”Su Yan, the sun has set, why are you wearing sunglasses? Trying to look cool?”

With that one sentence, Su Yan nearly blew her cover.

Zhou Yun keenly observed a twitch at the corner of Su Yan’s mouth.

Chen Quanying was known for her straightforward personality, and there were many rumors around the industry of her making digs at others. Seeing her in action today was indeed... quite unique. At least Zhou Yun, in her time in the industry, had never seen someone so openly expose another.

Except, perhaps, in the case of Lew Qingqing and Su Yan, who had conflicts of their own.

Removing her sunglasses, Su Yan pouted and said in a wronged tone, ”Ah, Sister Ying, I’m tired, wanted to sleep a bit in the car.”

Even someone like Su Yan didn’t dare to confront Chen Quanying directly.

Lew Qingqing did not miss this opportunity to kick a man when he’s down, ”Then let’s switch seats. I actually want to have a chat with Sister Ying. I’ve always loved your songs since I was in school, and even went to your concert with friends.”

Su Yan’s glare instantly shot over.

Chen Quanying looked at Lew Qingqing with surprise, ”You’ve been to my concert?”

”Yes, five years ago, at the Beijing Workers’ Stadium,” said Lew Qingqing. ”Do you remember it?”

”Of course, I remember my own concert,” replied Chen Quanying before turning to Su Yan, ”Weren’t you going to take a nap? Since Lew Qingqing is offering to switch seats with you, then hurry up and switch.”

Su Yan had an awkward expression, as if she was stuck on a hot grill.

This was getting kicked out.

Unable to swallow her pride, Su Yan had no choice but to grin and bear it, and switched seats with Lew Qingqing.

With the cameras still rolling, Zhou Yun put on a smile and called out, ”Sister Yanyan.”

Su Yan, with a straight face, nodded her head and put her sunglasses back on. It was unclear if she actually fell asleep or not.

Zhou Yun then took out her phone, turned slightly so Su Yan couldn’t see her screen, and messaged Zhou Lan: Did you see it this afternoon?

Zhou Lan: What?

Zhou Yun replied: Su Yan, she kicked me.

Zhou Lan: What? During the game? It couldn’t have been intentional, right?

Zhou Yun: No, it was intentional because I didn’t take her side in shared animosity but appeared close with Lew Qingqing instead.

Zhou Lan: Are those two really at odds?

Zhou Yun: They openly clashed while changing clothes.

Zhou Lan: Then don’t act rashly for now. Finish shooting the program first, and remember the image you want to present on camera.

Zhou Yun: I know, but remember to ask someone for a backup of the video.

Zhou Lan: Leave this to me, don’t worry.

After giving clear instructions, Zhou Yun breathed a sigh of relief, then turned to glance at Su Yan.

Suddenly, Su Yan spoke up in a cold voice, ”What is it?”

As expected, she hadn’t been sleeping.

Zhou Yun looked perplexed, ”Ah? Sister Yanyan, what’s wrong?”

Su Yan snorted but said nothing further, falling back into silence.

Helplessly smiling, Zhou Yun turned her head to look out the window, the amusement in her eyes finally fading.

When they arrived at the place for dinner, everyone took their seats at a large table. The director and cameramen were ready, and although people filled the space in front of the table, only the artists were in the frame.

With a face suggesting she was enticed by the food, Su Yan said, ”I’m so hungry, I feel like I could eat a whole cow right now!”

Lew Qingqing immediately added, ”Me too, seriously so hungry, Director, there aren’t any tasks now, right? Can we directly have dinner?”

The two girls gazed at the camera with eyes full of longing, their faces pleading.

Pretty girls making such faces always tend to soften people’s hearts.

But how could the director be swayed?

”Of course... there are tasks.”

Both Su Yan and Lew Qingqing let out a sigh at the same time, but they didn’t argue.

Several guys in the back started to complain as well.

”Director, where’s the love? Where’s your love for us?”

”I’m not recording anymore, I declare this is my last episode.”

”This is too much!”

...

It’s all an act, all for show, all for the camera effect.

Zhou Yun isn’t the main character, she just has to smile helplessly.

Smile beautifully, be a gorgeous vase.

”Xiao Yun, come sit next to me.” After taking her seat, Lew Qingqing called out proactively, ”Come here.”

Zhou Yun went over to sit by her.

”Lew Qingqing, are you doing this on purpose!” Zhang Haichen suddenly glared, ”I already said I wanted to sit with Xiao Yun tonight!”

Zhou Yun was taken aback and looked at Zhang Haichen, not knowing what to do.

There Lew Qingqing stood smiling triumphantly, ”Hmph, stop corrupting our innocent Xiao Yun!”

Zhou Yun was completely baffled.

Zhang Haichen sighed and faced the camera with a look of dejection on his face.

Zhou Yun understood, it was all for the variety show effect.

She hugged Lew Qingqing’s arm with a giggly smile.

Su Yan didn’t look too happy when she saw this scene, and her gaze towards Zhou Yun even held a bit of disgust.

Of course, this note of disgust avoided the camera.

Originally, Zhou Yun didn’t want to get involved in the squabble between Su Yan and Lew Qingqing, but Su Yan’s kick in the afternoon had left Zhou Yun feeling irritated.

Regardless of how much of Lew Qingqing’s warmth and closeness in front of the camera was an act, at least Lew Qingqing hadn’t treated her with this pretense.

Zhou Yun was more than happy to play up the sisterly love with Lew Qingqing, to the annoyance of Su Yan.

During the next part of the shoot, Zhou Yun and Lew Qingqing were even warmer with each other, frequently linking arms or hugging.

Their affection was like that of best friends who had grown up together.
