Su Yan sat on the right side of Lew Qingqing and Zhou Yun. She leaned over, a face full of curiosity, and asked, ”Did you two know each other before?”

Lew Qingqing immediately answered, ”This is our first time meeting today. Did you know Xiao Yun before?”

”Of course, this is also my first time meeting her,” Su Yan said. ”But I was still quite startled when I saw the trending topic this morning.”

Zhou Yun said with an innocent face, ”It’s just nonsense made up by the paparazzi.”

”I remember you’re currently filming with Song Chi, right?” Lew Qingqing countered Su Yan. ”You should know best whether Zhou Yun is Song Chi’s girlfriend or not.”

Hearing this, Su Yan’s eyes flickered for a moment, she laughed twice, and said, ”Although I’m filming in the same crew, how would they let me know about such things.”

This statement might sound harmless at first glance, but in reality, it was still evasive. Lew Qingqing’s previous remark was meant to have Su Yan act as a witness to clear up the rumor. However, Su Yan had only danced around the topic, which gave the impression that even if Song Chi and Zhou Yun were dating, she wouldn’t know about it.

Zhou Yun had no choice but to emphasize again, ”I don’t know Teacher Song Chi from Adam.”

Lew Qingqing patted the back of Zhou Yun’s hand and said, ”There, there, don’t worry. Fans these days are very smart. They won’t be led by the nose by the paparazzo. No need to worry.”

Zhou Yun showed Lew Qingqing a grateful smile.

On the side, Su Yan took out a pair of sunglasses from her bag and put them on herself.

Seeing this, Chen Quanying, who was chatting with someone else, directly asked, ”Su Yan, why are you wearing sunglasses when the sun has already set? Trying to look cool?”

With that remark, Su Yan almost blew her cover.

Zhou Yun keenly observed a twitch at the corner of Su Yan’s mouth.

She had long heard that Chen Quanying was forthright, with numerous rumors within the circle of her taunting others. Seeing her today, it was indeed... quite something. At least, Zhou Yun had been in the industry for a long time, and this was the first time she saw someone so bluntly call out someone else.

If you don’t count the inherently conflicting Lew Qingqing and Su Yan.

Su Yan took off her sunglasses, pouting her lips, she said with grievance, ”Ah, Sister Ying, I’m tired. I just wanted to get some sleep in the car.”

Even Su Yan didn’t dare to directly confront Chen Quanying head-on.

Lew Qingqing would not let go of such an opportunity with her arch-enemy and added insult to injury, ”Then let’s swap seats. I just wanted to have a chat with Sister Ying. When I was in school, I really enjoyed your songs, Sister Ying. I even went to your concert with my friends.”

Su Yan’s glare instantly shot over.

Chen Quanying looked at Lew Qingqing with surprise, ”You’ve been to my concert?”

”Yes, five years ago, at the Beijing Workers’ Stadium,” Lew Qingqing replied. ”Do you remember?”

”Of course, I remember my own concert,” Chen Quanying said before turning to Su Yan, ”Aren’t you going to take a nap? Since Lew Qingqing wants to swap seats with you, go ahead and move.”

Su Yan looked a bit embarrassed, as if she couldn’t step down after being put on the spot.

This was being chased away.

Unable to swallow her pride, Su Yan didn’t have a choice but to suck it up and switched seats with Lew Qingqing.

The cameras were still rolling. Zhou Yun smiled and called out, ”Sister Yanyan.”

Su Yan, with a rigid face, nodded her head, put on her sunglasses again, and it wasn’t clear if she actually fell asleep or not.

Only then did Zhou Yun take out her phone, slightly turning her body to ensure Su Yan couldn’t see her phone screen, and messaged Zhou Lan: Did you see what happened this afternoon?

Zhou Lan: What?

Zhou Yun said: Su Yan kicked me.

Zhou Lan: What? During the game? She didn’t do it on purpose, right?

Zhou Yun: No, it was intentional. Because I didn’t stand by her side united in hatred, but instead, I’m getting along with Lew Qingqing.

Zhou Lan: The two of them really don’t get along?

Zhou Yun: They had a falling out while changing clothes.

Zhou Lan: For now, don’t act rashly. Finish recording the show, and remember the image you need to present on camera.

Zhou Yun: I know, but remember to get a backup of the video.

Zhou Lan: Leave this task to me, don’t worry.

After getting clear instructions, Zhou Yun breathed a sigh of relief, then turned to glance at Su Yan.

Suddenly, Su Yan spoke up, her voice detached: ”Is there something you want?”

She really wasn’t asleep.

Zhou Yun looked confused, ”Huh? Sister Yanyan, what’s wrong?”

Su Yan snorted but didn’t say anything, falling silent again.

Zhou Yun smiled helplessly, turned his head towards the window, and the smile in his eyes finally faded.

When they arrived at the place to have dinner, everyone sat down at a big table. The director and camera crew were ready, and though many people stood in the empty space in front of the table, only the artists were in the shot of the camera.

Su Yan had a look as if she was tempted by the food, and said, ”I’m so hungry, I feel like I could eat an entire cow right now!”

Lew Qingqing immediately said, ”Me too, I’m really starving. Director, there’s no task now, right? Can we just have dinner?”

The two girls were looking at the camera with eyes full of hope, their faces begging.

Pretty girls making that face always soften people’s hearts.

But how could the director be soft-hearted?

”Of course... there’s a task.”

Both Su Yan and Lew Qingqing let out a sigh simultaneously but didn’t argue.

The several men behind also started to complain.

”Director, where’s the love? What about your love for us?”

”I’m not filming anymore; I announce this episode will be my last.”

”This is too much!”

...

It’s all acting, all for show, all for the effect on camera.

Zhou Yun wasn’t the protagonist, just a forced smile would do.

Smile beautifully, be a gorgeous vase.

”Xiao Yun, come sit next to me,” said Lew Qingqing as she took her seat, gesturing to her. ”Come here.”

Zhou Yun then moved to sit beside her.

”Lew Qingqing, are you doing this on purpose?” Zhang Haichen suddenly flared up, ”I already said I wanted to sit with Xiao Yun tonight!”

Zhou Yun was stunned, looking bewilderingly at Zhang Haichen.

There was Lew Qingqing, smirking triumphantly, ”Humph, quit bothering our innocent Xiao Yun.”

Zhou Yun was utterly confused.

Zhang Haichen sighed, facing the camera, with a look of dejection.

Zhou Yun understood, it was another variety show effect.

She smiled and hugged Lew Qingqing’s arm happily.

Su Yan didn’t look too pleased to see this scene, even throwing Zhou Yun a look of disgust.

Of course, she kept the disdain away from the cameras.

Originally, Zhou Yun didn’t want to get caught in the strife between Su Yan and Lew Qingqing, but Su Yan’s kick from the afternoon had lit a fire in her.

Regardless of whether Lew Qingqing’s on-camera warmth and closeness towards her was an act, at least she hadn’t pulled that on her.

Zhou Yun was happy to foster a sisterly bond with Lew Qingqing, just to spite Su Yan.

During the following shoot, Zhou Yun and Lew Qingqing became even more cordial, often linking arms or embracing.

Their affection was as if they had grown up together as best friends.
