Su Yan sat to the right of Lew Qingqing and Zhou Yun, leaning forward curiously and asking, ”Did you two know each other from before?”

Lew Qingqing immediately answered, ”Today’s our first meeting. Did you know Xiao Yun before?”

”Of course, it’s my first time meeting her too,” Su Yan said, ”though I did get quite a shock when I saw the trending search this morning.”

Zhou Yun responded with an innocent look, ”Tabloid fabrication.”

”I remember you’re shooting a film with Song Chi, right?” Lew Qingqing countered Su Yan, ”You should know best. Is Zhou Yun Song Chi’s girlfriend?”

At those words, Su Yan’s eyes flickered and she laughed twice before saying, ”Even though I’m in the same show with him, how could I know about such things?”

On first hearing, her words seem unproblematic, but in reality, she’s still being evasive. Lew Qingqing had thrown out that statement earlier wanting Su Yan to serve as a witness and clear the rumor. However, Su Yan just skirts around the major point, giving the impression that even if Song Chi and Zhou Yun were dating, she wouldn’t know about it.

Zhou Yun had no choice but to emphasize again, ”I don’t know Teacher Song Chi at all.”

Lew Qingqing patted the back of Zhou Yun’s hand and said, ”It’s okay, rest assured, the fans are all very smart now. They won’t be led by the nose by paparazzi, there’s no need to worry.”

Zhou Yun showed a grateful smile to Lew Qingqing.

Beside her, Su Yan took out a pair of sunglasses from her bag and put them on.

Chen Quanying, who had been talking to someone else, directly asked, ”Su Yan, the sun has already set, why are you wearing sunglasses? Trying to look cool?”

That single sentence almost made Su Yan slip up.

Zhou Yun keenly observed a twitch at the corner of Su Yan’s mouth.

Having heard about Chen Quanying’s candid personality and the many rumors of her picking on others in the industry, seeing this today, it’s really... quite unique. At least, during the time Zhou Yun has been in the industry, it was the first time she saw someone so directly call out another person.

If not counting the inherent conflict between Lew Qingqing and Su Yan.

With a pout, Su Yan took off the sunglasses and complained, ”Ah, Sister Ying, I’m just tired and wanted to sleep a bit in the car.”

Even Su Yan did not dare to outright confront Chen Quanying.

Lew Qingqing, seizing the opportunity to kick a rival when she was down, said ”I’ll switch seats with you then, I actually want to chat with Sister Ying. I really liked listening to her songs when I was in school, and even went to Sister Ying’s concert with my friends.”

Su Yan’s glare shot her way immediately.

Chen Quanying, pleasantly surprised, looked at Lew Qingqing, ”You’ve been to my concert?”

”Yeah, five years ago, at Beijing Workers’ Stadium,” Lew Qingqing said, ”Do you remember?”

”Of course, I remember my concerts,” Chen Quanying responded and then turned to Su Yan, ”Weren’t you going to take a nap? Since Lew Qing wants to switch places with you, you should hurry up and switch then.”

Su Yan’s face was a bit awkward, like someone unable to find a way off a burning stake.

This was being sent away.

Su Yan couldn’t swallow her pride, but had no other choice, could only grit her teeth and switched seats with Lew Qingqing.

There were still cameras filming, and Zhou Yun, smiling, called out to Sister Yanyan.

Su Yan, with a stoic face, nodded her head and put her sunglasses back on, and no one knew if she really fell asleep or not.

Zhou Yun then pulled out her phone, slightly turning her body to prevent Su Yan from seeing her phone screen, and messaged Zhou Lan: Did you see what happened this afternoon?

Zhou Lan: What?

Zhou Yun said: Su Yan, she kicked me.

Zhou Lan: What? During the game? She didn’t do it on purpose, did she?

Zhou Yun: No, she did it on purpose, because I wasn’t on her side against a common foe, but instead got along well with Lew Qingqing.

Zhou Lan: Those two really don’t get along, huh?

Zhou Yun: They clashed face-to-face while changing clothes.

Zhou Lan: Then you should stay calm for now, finish recording the show before discussing further, and don’t forget the image you want to present on camera.

Zhou Yun: I know, but remember to ask someone for a video backup.

Zhou Lan: I’ll take care of this, don’t worry.

After making sure everything was clear, Zhou Yun let out a sigh of relief and finally turned to glance at Su Yan.

Suddenly, Su Yan spoke up, her voice indifferent: ”What is it?”

She wasn’t asleep after all.

Zhou Yun looked bewildered, ”Huh? Sister Yanyan, what’s wrong?”

Su Yan scoffed, said nothing more, and fell silent again.

Zhou Yun smiled helplessly, turned his head to look out the window, and only then did the smile in his eyes fade.

When we arrived at the place for dinner, there was a large table. After everyone took their seats, the director and camera crew were also ready. There were people standing in the space in front of the dining table, but only the artists were visible on camera.

Su Yan looked like she was drooling with hunger and said, ”I’m so hungry, I feel like I could eat a whole cow right now!”

Lew Qingqing immediately said, ”Me too, I’m really starving. Director, there’s no task now, right? Can we just have dinner?”

Both girls gazed at the camera with eager, pleading faces.

Pretty girls making such faces always tend to soften people’s hearts.

But how could the director be soft-hearted?

”Of course... there is a task.”

Su Yan and Lew Qingqing both let out a sigh at the same time but didn’t argue.

The men behind them also started to complain.

”Director, where is the love? Where is your love for us?”

”No more filming, no more filming, I declare this my last episode.”

”This is too much!”

...

It’s all acting, all for show, all for the camera.

Zhou Yun wasn’t the main character; a helpless smile was enough.

Smile prettily, just be a beautiful vase.

”Xiao Yun, come sit next to me,” Lew Qingqing called out after she took her seat, ”Come here quickly.”

Zhou Yun sat down next to her.

”Lew Qingqing, did you do that on purpose!” Zhang Haichen suddenly glared, ”I said I wanted to sit with Xiao Yun tonight!”

Zhou Yun was taken aback and looked at Zhang Haichen, not sure what to do.

Lew Qingqing smiled, triumphant, ”Humph, don’t come corrupting our innocent Xiao Yun!”

Zhou Yun was dumbfounded.

Zhang Haichen sighed, faced the camera with a look of gloom.

Zhou Yun understood—it was for the variety show effect.

She giggled and hugged Lew Qingqing’s arm.

Su Yan’s face turned sour upon seeing this scene, and even the look she gave Zhou Yun had a hint of disgust.

Of course, she avoided showing this disgust on camera.

Zhou Yun initially didn’t want to get involved in the strife between Su Yan and Lew Qingqing, but Su Yan’s kick that afternoon had ignited a flame in Zhou Yun.

Regardless of how much of Lew Qingqing’s warmth and closeness in front of the camera was an act, at the very least, Lew Qingqing hadn’t given her that treatment.

Zhou Yun was happy to be thick as thieves with Lew Qingqing, just to piss off Su Yan.

During the subsequent filming, Zhou Yun was even more affectionate with Lew Qingqing, frequently linking arms or hugging her.

Their intimacy was as if they had grown up together like best friends.
