Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 555: Chapter 424: Waves of Applause

Anti-piracy measure, replacement after one hour

-

Su Yan sat to the right of Lew Qingqing and Zhou Yun, leaning over with a curious face, asking, ”Did you guys know each other before?”

Lew Qingqing immediately answered, ”We met for the first time today. Did you know Xiao Yun before?”

”Of course, it’s also my first time meeting her,” said Su Yan. ”But I did get a shock when I saw the trending searches this morning.”

Zhou Yun said innocently, ”Those paparazzi fabricate nonsense.”

”I recall you’re filming with Song Chi, right?” Lew Qingqing countered Su Yan, ”You should be the clearest about this, whether Zhou Yun is Song Chi’s girlfriend or not.”

Upon hearing this, Su Yan’s gaze flickered slightly, and she laughed twice, saying, ”Although I’m filming in the same crew, how would I know about such things?”

This statement, although seemingly innocuous on the surface, was actually ambiguous. Lew Qingqing’s previous remark was aimed at having Su Yan play the role of a witness to clear up the rumor. But Su Yan avoided the main issue, giving the impression that even if Song Chi and Zhou Yun were dating, she wouldn’t know.

Zhou Yun had no choice but to emphasize once more, ”I don’t know Mr. Song Chi at all.”

Lew Qingqing patted the back of Zhou Yun’s hand and said, ”Alright, don’t worry. The fans nowadays are very smart. They won’t be led by the nose by the paparazzi. Don’t fret.”

Zhou Yun showed Lew Qingqing a grateful smile.

Beside them, Su Yan took out her sunglasses from her bag and put them on herself.

Chen Quanying, who was chatting with someone else, directly asked, ”Su Yan, the sun has already set, why are you wearing sunglasses? Trying to look cool?”

With that one sentence, Su Yan almost lost her composure.

Zhou Yun keenly noted Su Yan’s mouth twitching slightly.

She had long heard that Chen Quanying was straightforward and that there were many rumors in the industry of her bluntly calling people out. Seeing it firsthand today, it was indeed... quite unique. At least, in the time Zhou Yun had been in the industry, it was the first time she saw someone so openly expose another.

Except for Lew Qingqing and Su Yan, who had conflicts of their own.

Taking off her sunglasses with a pout, Su Yan said with a sense of grievance, ”Ah, Sister Ying, I’m just tired and want to sleep for a bit in the car.”

Even Su Yan wouldn’t dare to directly confront Chen Quanying.

Lew Qingqing didn’t miss the opportunity to kick someone when they’re down, her arch-enemy particularly, ”Then let’s switch places, I’d like to chat with Sister Ying. I’ve been a fan of her music since my school days, even went to Sister Ying’s concert with friends.”

Su Yan’s glare shot over instantly.

Chen Quanying exclaimed excitedly at Lew Qingqing, ”You’ve been to my concert?”

”Yes, five years ago, at the Beijing Workers’ Stadium,” said Lew Qingqing. ”Do you remember?”

”Of course, I remember my own concert,” Chen Quanying then turned to Su Yan, ”Didn’t you say you wanted to rest for a bit? Since Lew Qing wants to switch seats with you, then hurry up and switch.”

Su Yan looked a bit embarrassed, as if caught in an awkward situation.

She was being chased away.

Su Yan couldn’t swallow her pride, but she was left with no choice but to grin and bear it, switching seats with Lew Qingqing.

There were cameras filming, so Zhou Yun smiled and called out, ”Sister Yanyan.”

Su Yan’s face was stiff as she nodded and put her sunglasses back on, not sure whether she was really asleep or not.

Zhou Yun then took out her phone, slightly turning her body so that Su Yan wouldn’t see her phone screen, and sent Zhou Lan a message: Did you see what happened this afternoon?

Zhou Lan: What?

Zhou Yun said: Su Yan kicked me.

Zhou Lan: What? During the game? It wasn’t on purpose, was it?

Zhou Yun: No, she did it deliberately because I didn’t stand on her side to share a common hatred, instead, I got close with Lew Qingqing.

Zhou Lan: Are the two of them really at odds?

Zhou Yun: They had a face-off when changing clothes.

Zhou Lan: Then don’t act rashly for now, finish recording the show first before discussing it, and remember how you need to present yourself on camera.

Zhou Yun: I know, but remember to ask someone for a backup of the video.

Zhou Lan: Leave it to me, rest assured.

After giving clear instructions, Zhou Yun breathed a sigh of relief and then turned to glance at Su Yan.

Su Yan suddenly spoke up, her voice indifferent: ”What’s the matter?”

Sure enough, she hadn’t been asleep.

Zhou Yun was baffled, ”Huh? Sister Yanyan, what’s wrong?”

Su Yan chuckled, didn’t say anything, and fell silent again.

Zhou Yun smiled helplessly, turned her head to look out the window, and the smile in her eyes then faded.

When they arrived at the dinner venue, there was a big table. After everyone was seated, the director and the cameramen were also ready. The space in front of the dining table was full of crew, but only the artists appeared on camera.

Su Yan had an expression of being tempted by food, and said, ”I’m so hungry, I feel like I could eat a whole cow right now!”

Lew Qingqing immediately said, ”Me too, I’m really hungry. Director, there’s no more tasks, right? Can we just have dinner?”

The two girls looked at the camera with eager eyes, a pleading look on their faces.

Pretty girls making such expressions always tend to soften people’s hearts.

But how could the director be soft-hearted?

”Of course... there’s a task.”

Su Yan and Lew Qingqing both let out a sigh at the same time, but they didn’t argue.

Several men in the back started to complain as well.

”Director, where’s the love? The love for us?”

”I’m not filming anymore, I declare this is my last recording.”

”This is too much!”

...

It’s all acting, all a performance, all for the camera effects.

Zhou Yun was not the protagonist, she just had to smile helplessly.

Smile beautifully, be a pretty flower vase.

”Xiao Yun, sit next to me,” Lew Qingqing called out after sitting down, ”Come here, quickly.”

Zhou Yun then went to sit by her.

”Lew Qingqing, are you doing this on purpose!” Zhang Haichen suddenly glared, ”I said I wanted to sit with Xiao Yun tonight!”

Zhou Yun was startled and looked at Zhang Haichen, not knowing what to do.

Lew Qingqing smiled triumphantly and said, ”Hmph, stop corrupting our innocent Xiao Yun!”

Zhou Yun was completely baffled.

Zhang Haichen sighed and faced the camera, his face full of frustration.

Zhou Yun understood, it was for the variety show effect.

She hugged Lew Qingqing’s arm with a giggling smile.

Su Yan, seeing this scene, didn’t look very pleased, and even had a bit of disgust in her eyes when she looked at Zhou Yun.

Of course, this disgust was kept away from the cameras.

Zhou Yun hadn’t wanted to get involved in the rivalry between Su Yan and Lew Qingqing, but Su Yan’s kick in the afternoon had ignited her anger.

Regardless of how much of Lew Qingqing’s warmth and closeness to her in front of the camera was an act, at least Lew Qingqing had not done the same to her.

Zhou Yun was happy to display a sisterly affection with Lew Qingqing, just to infuriate Su Yan.

During the following shooting, Zhou Yun was even more affectionate with Lew Qingqing, frequently linking arms or hugging her.

Acting intimate as if they’d grown up together like best friends.
