Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 554: Chapter 423: Red Carpet Moonlight

Anti-Theft

-

Su Yan sat to the right of Lew Qingqing and Zhou Yun. She leaned over, full of curiosity, and asked, ”Did you two know each other before?”

Lew Qingqing immediately replied, ”This is our first meeting today. Did you know Xiao Yun before?”

”Of course, it’s also my first time meeting her,” said Su Yan, ”But I got quite a shock when I saw the trending searches this morning.”

Zhou Yun said with an innocent face, ”Those paparazzi make things up.”

Lew Qingqing countered Su Yan, ”Aren’t you filming with Song Chi? You should know best whether Zhou Yun is Song Chi’s girlfriend.”

At this, Su Yan’s eyes flickered, and she laughed twice before saying, ”Although I’m in the same drama crew with him, I wouldn’t know about such things.”

Her words sounded non-problematic at first, but they were actually ambiguous. Lew Qingqing’s previous remark was meant to make Su Yan act as a witness to clear up the rumor. However, Su Yan merely skirted the issue, suggesting that even if Song Chi and Zhou Yun were dating, she wouldn’t know.

Zhou Yun had no choice but to emphasize again: ”I don’t know Teacher Song Chi at all.”

Lew Qingqing patted the back of Zhou Yun’s hand and said, ”Don’t worry, the fans are smart nowadays. They won’t be led by the nose by the paparazzi. Don’t be concerned.”

Zhou Yun showed a grateful smile to Lew Qingqing.

Meanwhile, Su Yan took out sunglasses from her bag and put them on.

Chen Quanying, who was talking with others, asked directly, ”Su Yan, the sun has already set. Why are you wearing sunglasses? Trying to look cool?”

This nearly blew Su Yan’s cover.

Zhou Yun keenly noticed a twitch at the corner of Su Yan’s mouth.

Chen Quanying was known for being straightforward; there were quite a few rumors within the industry about her pushing the envelope with others. Seeing this today, it really was... quite unique. At least, Zhou Yun had never seen someone expose another so directly before.

If it wasn’t for the existing conflict between Lew Qingqing and Su Yan.

Su Yan took off her sunglasses, pursed her lips, and said pitifully, ”Ah, Sister Ying, I’m tired. I just wanted to sleep in the car for a bit.”

Even Su Yan didn’t dare confront Chen Quanying directly.

Lew Qingqing didn’t miss this opportunity with her arch-enemy, and added insult to injury, ”Then I’ll switch places with you. I actually want to have a chat with Sister Ying. I’ve loved Sister Ying’s songs since I was in school, and I even went to her concert with my friends.”

Su Yan’s daggers flew through her glare.

Chen Quanying looked at Lew Qingqing excitedly, ”You’ve been to my concert?”

”Yes, five years ago at the Beijing Workers’ Stadium,” Lew Qingqing said. ”Do you remember?”

”Of course, I remember my own concerts,” Chen Quanying turned to Su Yan and said, ”Weren’t you going to sleep for a while? Since Lew Qingqing wants to switch with you, go ahead and switch.”

Su Yan looked embarrassed, as if she was caught in a dilemma.

This was a dismissal.

Unable to swallow her pride but helpless nonetheless, Su Yan had to suck it up and switch seats with Lew Qingqing.

With the camera still rolling, Zhou Yun smiled and called out, ”Sister Yanyan.”

Su Yan maintained a stiff expression, nodded slightly, and put her sunglasses back on, it was unclear if she actually fell asleep.

Only then did Zhou Yun bring out her phone, slightly turning her body away so Su Yan couldn’t see her screen, and messaged Zhou Lan: Did you see this afternoon?

Zhou Lan: What?

Zhou Yun said: Su Yan kicked me.

Zhou Lan: During the games? Was it not intentional?

Zhou Yun: No, it was intentional, because I didn’t stand on her side to exhibit a shared hatred, but rather became close with Lew Qingqing.

Zhou Lan: They really don’t get along, huh?

Zhou Yun: During the wardrobe change, they completely fell out.

Zhou Lan: For now, don’t act rashly. Finish recording the show, and remember the image you need to present on camera.

Zhou Yun: I know, but remember to ask for a video backup.

Zhou Lan: ”Leave this matter to me, rest assured.”

Having explained clearly, Zhou Yun breathed a sigh of relief, then turned to glance at Su Yan.

Su Yan suddenly spoke, her voice cold: ”Is there something?”

She hadn’t fallen asleep after all.

Zhou Yun looked confused, ”Huh? Sister Yanyan, what’s wrong?”

Su Yan chuckled, said nothing, and fell silent again.

Zhou Yun helplessly smiled, turned his head to look out the window, the smile in his eyes slowly fading.

When they arrived at the dinner location, at a large table, after everyone was seated, the directors and cameramen were also ready, and the space in front of the dining table was filled with people, but only the artists appeared in the frame.

Su Yan, her face showing hunger, said: ”I’m so hungry, I feel like I could eat a whole cow right now!”

Lew Qingqing immediately said: ”Me too, I’m really hungry, director, no more tasks, right? Can we just eat dinner?”

Both girls looked earnestly at the camera, their faces pleading.

Pretty girls making such faces always tend to soften people’s hearts.

But how could the director be soft-hearted?

”Of course... there’s a task.”

Su Yan and Lew Qingqing both sighed at the same time, but didn’t argue.

The men behind them also started complaining.

”Director, what about feelings? What about your love for us?”

”I won’t record anymore, I’m declaring this to be my last episode.”

”That’s too much!”

...

It’s all acting, all for show, all for the camera effects.

Zhou Yun isn’t the protagonist, she just needs to smile helplessly.

Smile beautifully, be a pretty vase.

”Xiao Yun, come sit next to me.” After Lew Qingqing took her seat, she called out, ”Come here.”

And Zhou Yun moved to sit by her.

”Lew Qingqing, are you doing this on purpose!” Zhang Haichen suddenly glared, ”I already said I wanted to sit with Xiao Yun tonight!”

Zhou Yun startled, looked bewilderedly at Zhang Haichen.

Only to see Lew Qingqing smiling triumphantly, saying, ”Hmph, stop corrupting our innocent Xiao Yun!”

Zhou Yun looked utterly confused.

Zhang Haichen sighed, facing the camera, his face gloomy.

Zhou Yun understood, it was again for the variety show effect.

She cheerfully hugged Lew Qingqing’s arm.

Su Yan, seeing this scene, had an unpleasant look on her face, and even her glances at Zhou Yun carried a bit of disgust.

Of course, this disgust avoided the cameras.

Originally, Zhou Yun didn’t want to get involved in the rivalry between Su Yan and Lew Qingqing, but the push from Su Yan in the afternoon had ignited her anger.

Regardless of how much of the warmth and closeness Lew Qingqing showed her in front of the cameras was an act, at least Lew Qingqing hadn’t pulled such moves on her.

Zhou Yun was happy to deepen the sisterly bond with Lew Qingqing, infuriating Su Yan.

In the following shots, Zhou Yun and Lew Qingqing were even closer, frequently linking arms or hugging.

They looked as intimate as childhood best friends.
