Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 561: Chapter 430: The Award Moment

Anti-theft: Replace before 20:00

-

Su Yan sat to the right of Lew Qingqing and Zhou Yun. She leaned over with a curious expression and asked, ”Did you two know each other before?”

Lew Qingqing immediately answered, ”This is our first time meeting today. Did you know Xiao Yun before?”

”Of course, it’s also my first time meeting her,” said Su Yan. ”But I was quite startled when I saw the trending searches this morning.”

Zhou Yun responded with an innocent look, ”That’s just the paparazzi making stuff up.”

”I remember you are filming with Song Chi, aren’t you?” Lew Qingqing counter-questioned Su Yan. ”You should know the clearest, whether Zhou Yun is Song Chi’s girlfriend or not.”

Upon hearing this, Su Yan’s eyes flickered, and she laughed twice, saying, ”Although I’m working on the same film set, how could I be privy to such matters?”

The statement seemed okay at first glance but was actually quite evasive. Lew Qingqing had thrown out that comment to have Su Yan serve as an eyewitness to clarify the rumor. But Su Yan had merely skirted around the issue, giving the impression that even if Song Chi and Zhou Yun were dating, she would not be aware.

Zhou Yun had no choice but to emphasize once again, ”I don’t know Teacher Song Chi at all.”

Lew Qingqing patted the back of Zhou Yun’s hand and said, ”Don’t worry, fans nowadays are very smart. They won’t be led by the nose by the paparazzi, so don’t worry.”

Zhou Yun showed a grateful smile to Lew Qingqing.

Meanwhile, Su Yan took out her sunglasses from her bag and put them on.

Chen Quanying, who was talking to someone else, openly asked, ”Su Yan, why are you wearing sunglasses after sunset? Trying to be cool?”

Almost revealing her true feelings, Su Yan.

Zhou Yun keenly noticed the corners of Su Yan’s mouth twitching.

Chen Quanying’s straightforward character and not the few rumors of her snubbing others in the industry, meeting her today, indeed... quite unique. At least for Zhou Yun, who had been in the industry for so long, it was the first time she saw someone exposing another person so directly.

If not for the existing conflict between Lew Qingqing and Su Yan.

Su Yan took off her sunglasses with pursed lips, aggrievedly saying, ”Ah, Sister Ying, I’m just tired, wanted to take a nap in the car.”

Even Su Yan didn’t dare to confront Chen Quanying head-on.

Lew Qingqing did not miss the chance to kick her arch-enemy when she was down, ”Then let’s switch places. I just wanted to chat with Sister Ying. I’ve been a fan since school and even went to Sister Ying’s concert with friends.”

Su Yan shot a glare in an instant.

Chen Quanying looked at Lew Qingqing in surprise, ”You’ve been to my concert?”

”Yeah, five years ago, at Beijing Workers’ Stadium,” Lew Qingqing said. ”Do you remember?”

”Of course, I remember my concert,” Chen Quanying promptly turned to Su Yan. ”Aren’t you going to have a nap? Since Lew Qing is offering to swap places, go on and switch.”

Su Yan’s face showed a touch of embarrassment, like she was put on the spot and couldn’t step down.

She was being told to leave.

Unable to swallow her pride, Su Yan had no choice but to grin and bear it, switching seats with Lew Qingqing.

With the cameras still rolling, Zhou Yun chuckled and called out, ”Sister Yanyan.”

Su Yan responded with a rigid nod, put her sunglasses back on, and it was unclear whether she actually fell asleep or not.

Only then did Zhou Yun take out her phone, slightly turned away to prevent Su Yan from seeing her screen, and messaged Zhou Lan: Did you see this afternoon?

Zhou Lan: What?

Zhou Yun said: Su Yan kicked me.

Zhou Lan: What? During the game? Surely she didn’t do it on purpose?

Zhou Yun: No, she did it on purpose because I didn’t take her side and instead got along with Lew Qingqing.

Zhou Lan: They really don’t get along, huh?

Zhou Yun: They had a falling out while changing clothes.

Zhou Lan: For now, don’t act rashly, finish the shoot first, don’t forget how you need to appear on camera.

Zhou Yun: I know, but remember to get a backup of the video footage.

Zhou Lan: Leave it to me, don’t worry.

After explaining everything, Zhou Yun breathed a sigh of relief, then turned to glance at Su Yan.

Suddenly, Su Yan spoke up, her voice cold: ”Is there something?”

Sure enough, she hadn’t been asleep.

Zhou Yun appeared confused, ”Ah? Sister Yanyan, what’s wrong?”

Su Yan snorted but said nothing, falling silent again.

Zhou Yun smiled helplessly, turned her head to look out the window, and only then did the smile in her eyes fade.

When we got to the place for dinner, at a large table where everyone sat down, the director and photographers were also ready. The space in front of the dinner table was full of people, but only the artists were visible in the camera’s lens.

Su Yan had a look of being tantalized by hunger, ”I’m so hungry, I feel like I could eat a whole cow right now!”

Lew Qingqing immediately said, ”Me too, I’m really starving. Director, there’s no task now, right? Can we just have dinner?”

The two girls looked at the camera with puppy eyes, pleading.

Pretty girls always have a way of melting hearts with that look.

But how could the director be softhearted?

”Of course... there’s a task.”

Su Yan and Lew Qingqing both let out a sigh at the same time, but didn’t argue.

The men behind them started to complain as well.

”Director, where’s the love? Where’s your love for us?”

”I’m done, I’m done filming, I declare this to be my last episode.”

”That’s too much!”

...

It’s all an act, all for show, all for the camera.

Zhou Yun wasn’t the protagonist; a resigned smile was all that was needed.

Smile prettily, be a beautiful vase.

”Xiao Yun, sit next to me,” Lew Qingqing invited after taking her seat, ”Come here, quick.”

Zhou Yun sat down next to her.

”Lew Qingqing, are you doing this on purpose!” Zhang Haichen suddenly glared, ”I said I wanted to sit with Xiao Yun tonight!”

Zhou Yun looked bewildered, turning to look at Zhang Haichen.

Only to see Lew Qingqing smiling triumphantly, ”Hmph, stop causing trouble for our Xiao Yun, she’s so innocent!”

Zhou Yun was dumbfounded.

Zhang Haichen sighed, looked at the camera, his face sullen.

Zhou Yun understood, it was all for the variety show effect.

She chuckled and hugged Lew Qingqing’s arm.

Su Yan didn’t look happy seeing this scene, and even showed a bit of disgust when looking at Zhou Yun.

Of course, this disgust avoided the camera.

Zhou Yun didn’t originally want to get involved in the conflict between Su Yan and Lew Qingqing, but Su Yan’s kick in the afternoon had ignited a flame inside her.

Regardless of how much Lew Qingqing’s warmth and affection in front of the camera was an act, at least Lew Qingqing never pulled that kind of stunt on her.

Zhou Yun was happy to show sisterly closeness with Lew Qingqing, just to spite Su Yan.

During the subsequent shooting, Zhou Yun and Lew Qingqing were even closer, often linking arms or hugging.

They were affectionate as if they had grown up together as best friends.
